I'm latvian and in our language there are letters as ā, ē, �, ū and so on... Question: Is there an option (some keyboard or other method) that if I type two a (aa) and phone automatically transforms it to ā. I found that stock android keyboard has shortcuts, but it doesn't change these phrases - they only show them as suggestion.

Any list or link to a list of keyboard and mouse commands for our tablet?
I have a bluetooth mini keyboard* with a built in mouse and I would like to be able to control my tablet from my couch while it is connected to my TV's HDMI. However, I cannot figure out how to do basic tasks with the keyboard. The keyboard is this type: [URL] ......
Also, I'm not sure if the commands are tablet-specific, Android specific, or if they even exist at all. (I have searched XDA and Google, but because I do not know exactly what keywords to use, I am coming up without answers!)
Shortcuts I mainly need:
1-3) The three icons in the lower left of taskbar (they don't appear through HDMI): Back, Home, and the Prev Apps
4) Change homescreens/swipe left and swipe right (I can long click and move the mouse to do this, but it is difficult to do with my mouse since it is a knob type)
5) Long hold
6) Any other commands... heck, let's make a database if it doesnt exist already!
In case it matters: I am using ICS 4.0.3 stock (with root).
From what information I can gather from the web, android browser shortcuts are comprised of MENU + X combinations. Is there an equivalent for the Eris? I do not see how this works given the lack of a real keyboard. To open the keyboard take a separate action and when holding MENU to then click the appropriate letter, all you get is the menu.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there an app that will let me run window shortcuts/commands from an android device? For example, here is what I'm trying to accomplish:
1. I have 3 monitors but due to limitation in my video card, only 2 monitors can be shown at a given time.
2. I want to easily switch between them using the phone instead of from the PC.
3. If you have windows 7 you know that to switch displays you can press the windows+P keys and then toggle between 4 different display options. I created shortcuts for this since I only need one of the display options, not all 4. So I just have to double click and it'll quickly switch, cool.
4. So now I just need a way to be able to run that shortcut away from my PC.
I'm having an issue about 4.3 lockscreen. I was using 4.1.2 and it was good. But installed a rom. All good but this. I'm always using pattern lock for security. On 4.1.2, i can use shortcuts + pattern lock. But in 4.3 there's no option for it. When i enable pattern lock, shortcuts disabling. How can i enable both? Gt-N7100

I'm puzzled as to why I randomly get shortcuts added to my phone screen. They are smaller than all the other icons, and when I select them they take me to the appstore to download that specific app. These shortcuts are for apps I have not downloaded. I can't find them in my programs to remove, either.
I'm certain this is a result of another game I have downloaded, but I can't see where to shut it off. I've witnessed my phone flash something like 'Shortcut for Play Castle Crash created' while on a phone call or in another app. I'll remove it from my screen, but it'll reappear after a few hours. And if I don't remove them, they will fill all empty shortcut spots.
I have been looking for an app that will place a small, transparent icon on my screen that can launch an application. I would love to have an icon that looks something like the icons for SmartTask Bar and ButtonSavior. But I just want it to be a shortcut so that I can launch any other app the same way.

Specifically, what I'm doing is forwarding MMS pictures sent to my phone to my email. Its doable, I know the basic process. Unfortunately I have to do this manually every time. As there are a lot of pictures that must be forwarded every day... I am looking for something that, when an MMS is recieved, automatically forwards it to my email, or even just another phone number. Something that automatically inputs my email into the "send to" field of this phone's SMS app. I've sifted through easily 20 different apps that all claim to have the functionality I'm looking for, but not one actually accomplishes this.

On the iPhone, there is an option to automatically enhance a photo after clicking on it in the gallery, and it will fix red-eye, colours, brightness and contrast. Is there something similar for Android that I can use to enhance the photos in my gallery? The reason is this: my father has problems with his phone but has no technological knowledge. Also, he is away from home every now and then for some time.Therefore I need an application that will grab his backups (sms, logs, whatever) and upload them every week to an online folder (dropbox, google drive, idk).
when I connect my SGS2 or my sons Exhibit 2 to my windows 7 laptop. The pc recognizes the phones, I see all the files, from adobe-digital-editions to Zedge. The problem is that they show up under Removable Disk (F as "Shortcut" and size is 2kb each. I cant open or move anything to them. I'm thinking its something on the pc side because 2 phones are doing this.

I have recently got an ICS update on my Motorola Atrix 2 in India. I have been using gingerbread for quiet a long and now suddenly everything has changed.
I have anyway explored almost all the changes in ICS. But I am still not able to find one feature which I really loved in gingerbread.
When I press and hold on empty part of home screen, a pop up comes up listing widgets, shortcuts, folders and wallpaper which is now replaced by wallpaper only. However, widgets can be still added after pressing menu key and selecting widgets tab. Folders can created by just dragging and dropping apps on one another.
But the most shocking part for me is that there is no way I can create a shortcut or at least I didn't find. I had pinned "catch" notes on my home screen in gingerbread which is not working anymore although the option is still there in the catch application.
Using Astro File Manager, I used to create my important folders from sd card as shortcuts on my home screen which is also not working any more. Is there anything I am missing out or ICS for motorola atrix 2 doesn't have that feature?
Recently my Eclipse IDE seems it has stopped letting me use the common shortcuts like Ctrl + Shift + O and it is not prompting me with suggestions when I hover my mouse over an error.

Is there a way to add the remaining 120 at once to the homescreens?
If I would have to do it manually (Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1) it would take at least an hour to do (adding one shortcut is extremely slow, as my tab needs about 10 seconds to display the list of apps alone when creating a shortcut).I don't have to do it manually for each app.
Is it possible to add app shortcuts to the homescreen so they show when android loads up for the first time? It would be ideal if I could somehow edit the ROM zip file so I can flash this to many devices.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm testing a hybrid phone/scanner that came from China and I noticed the time was wrong on it (we don't use the phone part), so I went into time settings and it was set to automatic date & time and timezone, but when I turned off automatic timezone it said it was still China even though I've been using the device for a week. When I look up our IP on the web it says it's in the US in the correct state so I don't understand why Android is not locating the phone by IP.
I've noticed on other Android phones the time randomly goes incorrect when off cell service (like on my old Droid 2 or Galaxy Tab which I keep the cell service off for), so this appears to be a bug in Android. Is there a way I can smack the phone so it does it automatically or do I always have to expect Google not to do this right and make me have to manually set the timezone (and sometimes the time)?
I've read online that Google maps has a feature that allows for automatic screen dimming when using Google maps. However, I can't find the setting. Has it been removed?
If it has been removed, is there an app that will do it?
I'm currently building a custom ROM based on android 4.1.2 and I am having two questions:
1. In Settings -> Display -> Brightness there is no checkbox for automatic screen brightness. Can this feature be added (the check box to turn on/off the automatic brightness)?
2. When I activate the automatic screen brightness (using notification bar toggle) and the battery drains under 15% the brightness is setted to maximum and the Brightness page in settings can't be used, is there a way to fix this?
I've installed the CM 9 last week and this is working fine, but wen i take a picture my camera doesn't get automatically focus, i have to touch the screen on the place i wat to focus before taking pictures....is there any configuration where i can put my automatic focus back?
This is important to me because i use my camere alot, and touching the screen is a little annoying.Other problem is the panoramic camera that doesen`t work, i have the image on my screen, but when i start taking the picture it says I`m very fast, and then whe i get slow my picture is very, very short.
