I am trying to test a notification. I have created an emulator with audio playback enabled. I am able to get the notification but I am not able to hear sound. Are there any settings I am missing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk so me and my girlfriend both got evo's and the first couple times i used qik it worked fine. but now for some reason if she calls me (via qik video chat) i cant hear any sound from her but she hears me fine. but if i call her she doesn't get sound and i hear her fine!?! wtf? also while on the video chat one phone will have the microphone icon being displayed on bottom corner and other phone wont. is there something i can do to fix? is it an issue with phone or the qik app itself? just in case, it IS the version that is for the EVO on both phones
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought my Motorola Droid on Tuesday. Took it back on Thursday. People said I sounded muted, muffled, or in a tunnel. They gave me a brand new Droid and it is doing the same thing. When I am using my bluetooth, my fiancé can hear me perfectly. I love the Droid and this seems to be the only issue.

Today, none of my sound is audible unless it is extremely quiet in in the room or I'm holding the speaker right to my ear (I didn't hear my alarm this morning either )
All the sound setting are at max. Anyone else having this issue or know how I can get my sound to go up again?
When I download like a 50 sec video it will play about the first 3 secs and then all I hear is sound. Is there an app that fixes this or can I change something on my phone to make it work?

Received a call this morning and I could hear the caller but they could not hear me. Several more incoming calls and the same issue. Then I made some calls...I could hear the person but they could not hear me. Finally turned phone off and back on and it is now fine. Mute was not on.....anyone know what this could be?

I'm saving a sound from my app to be used as a ringtone or a notification sound. Here's part of my code, taken from this page:

My understanding is that the sound will be saved as well as a ringtone, a notification sound and an alarm, as the flags are all set to "true". At least on the emulator this does work but on the actual device, the sound only shows up in the ringtone list, and I have no idea why.
I've tried to investigate further: removing the line with "IS_RINGTONE" won't change anything (in case only one flag can be used at a time), the sound doesn't show up in the list with the notification-sounds.
The reason I'm posting this question is because I cannot make a notification to reproduce a sound or a vibration sequence. For the case of the vibration I have permissions properly set and logcat do not show log message indicating a problem. For the case of sound, I have an mp3 saved in the res/raw folder and I always got an error saying: error loading sound in logcat. I add an snipped with the code Im using. Probably anyone can let me know if I am making a newbie mistake.

I've tried re-setting the notification sound but it doesn't help.I'm getting other alerts (new mail, etc.) it's just SMS that doesn't play a sound.
