Android : Way To Move App For Phone?

Aug 29, 2010

Yesterday I posted the question 'How do I convert eclipse app for phone?' I have used eclipse to design an android app which runs fine on the emulator and I now want to transfer it to my phone. Sixten Otto kindly offered some advice regarding how to test/debug my app on my phone straight from Eclipse's Run menu. (See Developing on a Device from the Android developer site.)

I see that both appbrain and the built in Manage Apps application allows for some applications to be moved to the sd card. What's the advantage? What's the disadvantage?

Android :: Move Restored Sms From Sd Card To Phone Memory

Jan 23, 2010

I have 10.000+ text messages (sms) om my old phone that I would like to get into my gmail account using the SMS Backup app. So far I have managed - with superb assistance from Boni2K - to get them exported from the old software i had them in (MyPhoneExplorer) as an xml-file that the SMS Backup and Restore app can read.

Problem now is that the SMS Backup and Restore will restore them to the SD-card (it is indicated with a small SD-icon next to the restored messages), and the SMS Backup app only backs up messages from phone memory to GMail. Can I move the restored messages from the SD card memory to the Phone memory?.............

Sprint HTC Hero :: Can't Port / Move Phone Number To Android?

Nov 12, 2009

Can't Port Number within the same carrier. Situation: I've been with Sprint since 1997. Long story short, I have a plan I don't want to give up: PCS Free & Clear Plan
$27.00 per month
700 Anytime Minutes
1000 SMS Text Messages
Unlimited Night & Weekend Minutes* (Starting at 7 p.m.)
Free Roaming
Free Mobile-to-Mobile
See blog post here:
Bourne to Blog: Negotiating with your Mobile Phone Carrier. I wanted to upgrade to an Android phone, but this would require a "data plan". Some time ago, I was told that since I wanted to keep my plan, I could add unlimited data for an additional $30/month and keep the plan. However, about a month ago, I emailed customer service wanting to do this with the Android phone. They told me can't do this with the Android phone, you'll have to switch to data plan (essentially losing my plan).
So, here's what I did: My dad got me an Android on his "Family Plan" along with my step-mom and step-sister. To add me onto his plan is just an additional $20 per month. So, this made the most economical sense (since I wasn't about to give up my old phone and plan).

General :: How To Move SMS To Another Phone

Feb 17, 2013

My phone worries me, I have an LG Vortex and it's about two years old and it's starting to malfunction, so I figure its time for a new phone. The only thing preventing me from purchasing a new phone is that I need to keep my messages and switch it to a new phone. Can I just take it to Verizon, or maybe RadioShack, and ask them to do this, I know they can move contacts over, don't know about messages... Or is there an app that I can do this with, or something online, or anything. I'll pay for it if necessary, it's just very important I keep my current messages. !

Motorola Droid X :: Way To Move Things Between Phone / Mac Are?

Aug 19, 2010

After many weeks of waiting and my fiasco almost switching to an Incredible, my X finally arrived today. I'm new to the forum but have been reading around since ordering my phone. I don't intend to root at the moment because it's not what i need and I want to see how I like froyo. I will be using launcher pro but I really want these, or similar, dock icons but can't seem to locate them. I don't need to root or anything to get the completely transparent dock background do I? And for those with macs, what do you feel that the best way to move things between your phone and mac are? I plan on using double twist unless someone can mention something they feel is better!

HTC Incredible :: Unable To Move Files With Phone Apps

Sep 11, 2010

I was trying to free up space for my phone apps to run, by moving music files from the /emmc/music folder to my SD card. I succeded only when I resorted to using my PC connection, when both Astro and ES Explorer gave me "files cannot be moved" errors. I would prefer not to have done it this way, when I could have made use of such apps, but some part of the system is set against this. My phone isn't rooted, but I doubt that is the reason, as my PC was able to access files under /emmc (but not /system), and move them to my SD card. With my phone apps it's different, in that I cannot perform any operations at all under the root, not even copy (but I can look) Please help if you can!

I got my GS3 yesterday, and i am trying to move all the pictures (and videos) from my skyrocket over to it. on the skyrocket i had them stored on the internal sd card, and i want to do the same on the gs3. i have tried numerous things so far such as moving them to the computer then to the new device, as wel as copying them to the external sd, putting that in the gs3 and copying them to the internal sd from there. my problem every time is that whatever i do, changes the date of the pictures on the new phone to all say the time that they were copied, rather then when they were actually taken and it puts all the videos before the pictures; basically my whole gallery is just out of whack.
