I am a Verizon Wireless customer, and it is time for an upgrade this coming weekend. I am really considering the HTC Incredible over the X (too big for me) and D2. Would if be worth it to wait a month or two for any future Android phones?

I see that the NFL Mobile App, standard to Verizon customers, was unlocked to all Androids. I wondered if anyone uses this App and if it is confirmed working since updates and I also saw in the thread that you had to change the buildprop in order to get the video portion to work correctly. Can anyone confirm this app as working? I would love this app on my Captivate.

We�re talking intimate details of Verizon Wireless plans for the rest of 2010, 2011 and even some 2012 plans. Android tablets, LTE MiFi units, Android 3.0, video conferencing, and a whole lot more. Read on for the full details! In addition to the Motorola DROID and Motorola DROID X, weï told Motorola will launch a new DROID handset, the Motorola DROID Pro. It is supposed to have a 1.3GHz CPU, 4 screen and global roaming capabilities. Estimated launch of November 2010, Motorola is working with Verizon on alab form- device that sort of looks like an old Motorola Q but features a full touchscreen and global roaming. It will run Android 2.2. Maybe this will be a lower cost, MOTOBLUR handset? There are a lot more Android invasions happening before the end of the year, we told. This includes a global Android device from both Samsung and HTC.Samsung is working on a 7 screen Android tablet with front-facing camera. Motorola is also working on a tablet as well, except it will sport a 10 screen, either 1GHz or 1.3GHz CPU, front-facing camera, and Android 3.0. Don expect the Motorola so soon though, as informed that while the launch was supposed to happen in December, Android 3.0 will probably hold up the release of that device and we should expect it around February 2011. Verizon Wireless is aiming and on track to have at least 75% of the country covered in LTE coverage by April 2012 There will be a Novatel LTE MiFi device available in January or February that will apparently support up to 10 simultaneous Wi-Fi users. Lastly, we told LTE data pricing will stick at month, though it unclear what the data allowance will be. (This is for data cards, not smart phones) Regardless of whether an iPhone comes to Verizon Wireless anytime soon, it obviously clear they are not slowing down with their huge Android push. With LTE coming up, and a major stable of high-performance smart phones, it seems like Verizon has positioned themselves to win. We see how the end of the year and 2011 shape up before making any concrete judgments, though. Did we get anyone excited?

View 49 Replies View RelatedI bought my Droid on line via Phandroid/Verizon Wireless just after midnight on Friday and filled out all the info, picked a Verizon plan, gave them my current cell number (which is an AT&T Mobile number) and checked the boxes that said "yes, please port my old number on to my new Verizon phone".
So I get the phone today (superfast -- I hadn't even paid for overnight delivery). But when I follow the instructions to activate, the activation fails. I touch the Droid on the touchscreen, it brings up the phone, I follow the voice prompts and dial my cell number, but it doesn't work.
Spoke with a VW customer service rep (late night Saturday night). He gave me a different customer service # to call on Sunday for help with "porting."
I sure hope I get this straightened out quickly. Maybe I should've just bought the Droid at a Verizon store and let the VW store guys activate it for me.
The VW customer service rep was saying I should see a "temporary Verizon cell #" somewhere on my receipt or packing slip. But there isn't any. Just the mobile # that I'm trying to port over from AT&T.
Did I do something wrong when I ordered the phone? Or is it normal for there to be a delay in getting the old # ported?

I would like to remove the text "Verizon Wireless" from my pattern lock screen and replace it with my name.
When I rooted my HTC Eris and loaded KoasFroyo I encountered a similar situation where that ROM made it say Team AndIRC. I was able to do what I wanted by replacing eri.xml.
When I try to use ADB to push that same eri.xml file to my Fascinate I get an access denied error. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Any guidance would be appreciated. Since the phone is locked I want my name available on the front in case it is ever lost.

I would like to ask you, is there any RFID-reader available for any Android smartphones in the market? If not, do you think I could use the bluetooth for a work-around? Ensure that "To RGB565 (binary)" tab is selected
Click "Open Image", select your image
Click "Convert to RGB565" (RGB565 Converter will make your image 320x480 if it is not already)
CLOSE RGB565 CONVERTER
Reboot phone into Fastboot using this command: adb reboot bootloader
OR Button combo: SEND/CALL + END/POWER

For some strange reason I can't seem to set-up my personal e-mail account on this Droid phone. I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
With being a wireless industry professional for 15 years now, I have come across many different types of devices, OS's, just about it all.I wanted to love Windows mobile couldnt take the constant crashing.I wanted to love the Palm 650 well, I wont even go into that.I gave Symbian (Nokia E61) about a minute with good intentions before I was bored.I loved my BlackBerry for years feel like they are old school now.I would never use AT&T again, so the iPhone is out love my iPod Touch though.Having just gotten my first Android device, I can honestly say that while I am very impressed with the OS and its capabilities, I long to understand some of the things left out of ANY of these operating systems.

I like to be able to save the receipt screen (or boarding pass screen) to a pdf, so I can easily access it later or print it off. This is easy to do on a laptop with cute pdf or similar. Is there any way to "print to pdf" on an android phone? Or to put it in other words, is there any way to save a webpage as a pdf, so it can be opened again later (and look exactly the same)?
