I will be getting Verizon Fios Internet 25/15
My computer does not have a wireless card and I am wondering how do you turn your droid to do this?
I don't want to use my data plan to connect to the internet, I want my droid to act as a wireless card over wifi to receive the fios from the wireless router.
Anyone know how this can be done?
(I'm currently using PDAnet using my dataplan)

Second, whats the best app for O/C. Im rooted but running a stock rom and would kinda like to leave it at that but still want a little better performance. I have removed some of the bloatware but dont know where to go from here.

I had turned off the Eris and when I turned it back on, I get a little icon with a question mark and in Notifications it says "The SD card is damaged. You may have to reformat." The first time I did reformat (after, as I thought, saving everything I wanted to my PC - turns out I didn't save photos ). This time, I'm wondering if it's really damaged or not. Anyone have experience with this? It seems kind of odd.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been having 4G lag issues since day 1 with my EVO. I made a thread about it, and have updated it as needed.
I decided to make a video detailing my 4G lag issues, and during the filming of that video, my 4G would not turn on using the Wireless Settings page. I had to use the toggle to make it turn on. I shrugged this error off as just a bug, and moved on with life.
However, I've also been planning a factory reset for some time, and finally did it Saturday. Since then, I've tried several times to turn on 4G from the Settings page, and each time, it fails.
If I go to the SwitchPro widget, and toggle 4G there, it works just fine. I can turn it OFF just fine from the Settings screen, but I can't enable it. If I enable it with the toggle, and then disable it...I can immediately go back in and re-enable it from the Settings screen. It's almost like the toggle shows the Settings screen the right way to do it...and the Settings screen is now able to turn on 4G. After a few minutes of being able to turn on 4G, it stops, and is unable to. It's very inconsistent.
So before and after my factory reset, my EVO has shown difficulty in enabling 4G from the Settings screen. Does this sound like grounds for a repair/replacement ticket from Sprint?
I was wondering if I can use the Desire as a wireless adapter for a PC. I mean to connect it through USB so the PC will detect it as a wireless adapter, just like a USB wifi adapter. I'm not talking about tethering and sharing the 3G internet with the PC.
Well, I would like to know if it's possible on any Android device in general, or at least to know if it's just impossible with Android OS.
Has anyone else noticed that when they turn WiFi on through the widget (either android or motorola one) it doesn't always actually turn on wireless?
I usually have to go to WiFi settings and then once I do that it connects to my router. This will keep happening until I restart the phone and then the widget will work another 1-2 times and then I'll have to go into the settings menu until I restart again.
Unrelated: Has anyone else had their 3G dropout today or is it just me? I'm in the northeast.
Ok, first of all I am using one program right now called "easy tether" but i had pdanet and it worked fine on the trial part, that expired and I tired to connect to it and kept getting an error code "633" so I thought it was just because it was the trial program and not the real thing so I purchased the damn thing and I still can't get it up and running. I didn't mind paying for it as I said it ran pretty good before and just thought I would stick with it but I can't seem to get it up and running. I downloaded the easy tether and it runs good too but since I paid for pdanet I would like to at least try and see if I can get it up and running so can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong by getting that code? If I can't get it going I need to request a refund and I am out of town right now and that is why I need it so I can access the internet while I am gone, I can't go a month without internet!!! So can someone try and explain if they can what might be going on for pdanet not to run. Like I said I am using the easy-tether right now as we speak but it is a trial version too so don't want to have to pay for another one to avoid not being able to access secure sites.

View 24 Replies View RelatedWhile playing around with Titanium, I was prompted to enable USB Debugging. I remembered having turned this on pre-2.1 for PDANet. However, when I plugged my phone into my PC via USB, it didn't recognize it. So I thought maybe I'd reinstall PDANet to get whatever drivers it loaded to use the USB in Debug mode. I did that, and installed the Samsung USB driver it says to install, but it keeps telling me during PDANet install that it doesn't have the driver. Anyone have any advice here?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I use the task killer...and at the moment say when I kill tasks it'll tell me there is about 200M avaliable memory free...if I use the phone for a day it'll maybe go down to 150M even if I am still killing apps and there is nothing in 'running services'. If i turn off the phone and turn it back on it goes up to 250M. What is running that I can't stop myself to make it go down from the 250M but that I can just eliminate by turning off the phone?

I'm thinking about turning this off in order to reduce the size of my app and allow the "move to sd card" function to work. I've read that, in the past, people were having issues when the dev switched the copy protection setting from off to on. Is this still an issue? If users are still having problems then I'll leave things as they are. I understand that copy protection isn't really helping and I should just leave it off, but since I've had it on through several updates now, I'd hate to cause my users grief by changing now.

I always run into the same problem though. wired or wireless, i cant get it to connect right. wired never works in any way but i dont really care about that. wireless however shows some signs of working. it shows some data has been sent, not received though. and my computer will detect and connect to it, but seems to lose the signal after a few moments. when i bring up a browser it doesnt even look like something might load. it just says im offline. could someone help me with this?
The other part of this problem is i really just want to connect to my computers ad hoc network and use a wireless keyboard and mouse program. none of them seem that great unfortunately.. recommendations are appreciated. but my biggest issue is that i cant seem to connect to an ad hoc network. i believe my phone detected it only once while i was on the "white widow" rom, but could never quite connect..
