Android :: Automatically Turn Wireless On When Plugged In?
Sep 4, 2010My understanding is that keeping the Wifi on when no network is available drains the battery. So, I try not to leave it on unless I need to. I am looking for a way to turn the wireless on automatically when my phone is plugged in. Is there a way to do this?

HTC EVO 4G :: Can't Turn On 4G From Wireless Settings?
Nov 22, 2010I've been having 4G lag issues since day 1 with my EVO. I made a thread about it, and have updated it as needed.
I decided to make a video detailing my 4G lag issues, and during the filming of that video, my 4G would not turn on using the Wireless Settings page. I had to use the toggle to make it turn on. I shrugged this error off as just a bug, and moved on with life.
However, I've also been planning a factory reset for some time, and finally did it Saturday. Since then, I've tried several times to turn on 4G from the Settings page, and each time, it fails.
If I go to the SwitchPro widget, and toggle 4G there, it works just fine. I can turn it OFF just fine from the Settings screen, but I can't enable it. If I enable it with the toggle, and then disable it...I can immediately go back in and re-enable it from the Settings screen. It's almost like the toggle shows the Settings screen the right way to do it...and the Settings screen is now able to turn on 4G. After a few minutes of being able to turn on 4G, it stops, and is unable to. It's very inconsistent.
So before and after my factory reset, my EVO has shown difficulty in enabling 4G from the Settings screen. Does this sound like grounds for a repair/replacement ticket from Sprint?
HTC Desire :: Turn Into A Wireless Adapter?
Oct 30, 2010I was wondering if I can use the Desire as a wireless adapter for a PC. I mean to connect it through USB so the PC will detect it as a wireless adapter, just like a USB wifi adapter. I'm not talking about tethering and sharing the 3G internet with the PC.
Well, I would like to know if it's possible on any Android device in general, or at least to know if it's just impossible with Android OS.

Feb 27, 2012Can the RAZR MAXX be used as a wifi base station for a wifi bridge/repeater (NOROOT) - not tethering. i'd like to extend my lan network over my droid. I get full 4G in my house 20-25Mbps average, and i don't need cable internet. I have been using usb/wifi tethering for months and would rather use my Netgear B/G/N router's bridging function to connect all of my devices rather than the radio on my droid.

Second, whats the best app for O/C. Im rooted but running a stock rom and would kinda like to leave it at that but still want a little better performance. Jul 26, 2010Has anyone else noticed that when they turn WiFi on through the widget (either android or motorola one) it doesn't always actually turn on wireless?
I usually have to go to WiFi settings and then once I do that it connects to my router. This will keep happening until I restart the phone and then the widget will work another 1-2 times and then I'll have to go into the settings menu until I restart again.
Unrelated: Has anyone else had their 3G dropout today or is it just me? I'm in the northeast.

I always run into the same problem though. wired or wireless, i cant get it to connect right. wired never works in any way but i dont really care about that. wireless however shows some signs of working. it shows some data has been sent, not received though. and my computer will detect and connect to it, but seems to lose the signal after a few moments. when i bring up a browser it doesnt even look like something might load. it just says im offline. could someone help me with this?
The other part of this problem is i really just want to connect to my computers ad hoc network and use a wireless keyboard and mouse program. none of them seem that great unfortunately.. recommendations are appreciated. but my biggest issue is that i cant seem to connect to an ad hoc network. i believe my phone detected it only once while i was on the "white widow" rom, but could never quite connect..

Today, when I went to use it, I'm receiving directions...BUT I do not get turn by turn voice directions. The view of the map is from like an airplane, not the "over the shoulder" view like I used to get, and the voice part is totally gone (I've checked the volume and it's not that).I've tried powering the phone down/up, but doesn't help. Aug 28, 2010We'll this is a deal breaker for me, after being pretty happy with the RUU update and the speed improvement it brought to the stock music player.When using the turn by turn navigation, every time the voice comes in the player puts itself on pause.After the instruction is over it remains paused instead of resuming.Then I have to manually hit play again to resume playback.This is a big deal while driving since I don't want to be fidgeting with my phone every couple seconds.This was not an issue with 2.1 , since as soon as the turn by turn instruction was gone the music would automatically resume.

Is it voice assisted? Personally I don't care if it's Bing or Google but I don't want the Verizon one since it will require a monthly fee. If i turn off the phone and turn it back on it goes up to 250M. What is running that I can't stop myself to make it go down from the 250M but that I can just eliminate by turning off the phone?
