Steel on my Phone (Hero) doesnt seem to save passwords for internet website, I have to log in every time to FB, forums etc. I have Save Passwords activated in Setting/Privacy but no luck.

Have checked with my task panel etc., programs and its not in any wanted lists, have uninstalled and reinstalled, and soft reset the phone to no avail.

My phone = HTC Droid Eris. When I use the stock browser or Dolphin Browser. Clicking back button on my phone goes back to Seesmic.
On my Blackberry I had an app to save all my passwords and credentials and then open them up when I wanted to. It had its own master password.

Also the 'data' was taking up almost 10MB and I'm running low on application disk space (dammit they have to find a way to let us store apps on our sdcards) Anyway.. I did a "clear data" thing on the browser, thinking this would only clear temporary internet files, but it reset everything (wiped out my favorites and saved passwords.

The screen just goes black momentarily, then I'm back at my home screen. It's happening on all browsers, so it's not an application issue. I've never had this issue before, and I recently installed Hydra Kernel #3 (UV/OV 1.15 w/ N). Is this something other people are experiencing in conjunction with a hydra kernel? I am kind of new to the G1 and this site. I've only had my phone for a few weeks. I've been using the chrome browser for it's download functions, but I can't seem to figure out the program in depth. There's some buttons that will flip between pages that are open, but I can't seem to figure out how to save bookmarks with it. Is there a text file or instructions on how to use this program?

It's a combat flight sim pretty similar to Armageddon Squadron, but just from playing the demo I think it's quite a bit better than that game. I'm using Xscope browser and picked the option to remember username/password on websites that I visit. However, my password has changed but it still tries to auto-populate the website fields with these values. Anyone know of a way to get it to stop so I can edit it with the new values?
When I contacted Xscope's developer, he mentioned that it wasn't any settings within the browser and that xScope doesn't store or manage it. The android webkit does. Anyone know what this means and where do I go to edit sites' field values the browser remembers?
If I go to AndroidForums on my phone, and I long-press on the logo, I have the option to save it.However, if I go to a direct link like http://imgur.com/OLnXZ.jpg and it just loads the image, how do I save it now? I long-press on the image and it doesn't do anything. I am rooted and running a custom ROM, but I don't remember being able to do this on stock.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere are a couple of options within the browser I didn't find until after searching for it, so I thought I would share it with the rest of the community in order to help out.
-Everyone should clear the browser cache and previous history in order to save internal phone memory. To do this go to BROWSER press the MENU button and press MORE. There should be a list of things in there but what you should be interested in is the last item which is SETTINGS. From there in privacy settings there will be options to clear both cache and history.
- Another little tip I wanted to share was viewing webpages in landscape mode without opening your keyboard. To do this simply press the MENU button from within the BROWSER and go down to FLIP ORIENTATION. You should realize tho by doing this you browser will continue to be in landscape the next time it's used. In order to return it to it's normal portrait mode just follow these steps once again.
-There are a number of other things you can mess around with or find with the MENU button within the browser so just take a look at it yourself even if you don't want to do any of these tips.
i would like to select pictures on the browser and save the file to my phone so that i may be able to use it as a background, ringer id, ect. i have tried to search for this but was unable to find an answer. i just got this phone yesterday and i love it! already downloaded several aps, and i love the barcode readers!
