View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wifi's broken and I sense it'll be a while before I get it up and running again. Does anyone here know a good website from where I can download applications in the apk format? Coz then I can use the SDK to install them on my phone.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using the HTC Aria on AT&T 200mb/month plan. I normally use a good chunk of that a month already. I was wondering if there is an app that allows me to download maps that can be used off line and has gps turn by turn navigation on the downloaded maps. So essentially I'm looking for a navigation app which does not use data.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried to download a program away from the android apps page--ereader from ereader.com and was told that the phone was set to not let it download form anything except android app or att apps. Is this right and is there a way to disable it if it is true? I want to download a St. Louis Cardinals baseball app from the Str. View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got my HTC Desire today! Trying to download apps via the android market. Selected the app, and it tells me it will be downloaded. I go to the download section and the app says starting downloading and just stays at that. I have canceled and started again but no joy. Connected via Wireless connection and also tried mobile internet.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI just got the Evo on Sprint today. Everything works fine but cannot download any apps. I have spent several hours today going through various message boards. I have rebooted the phone several times. I updated the profile and PRL. I have turned on the wi-fi and turned off the wi-fi. I downloaded the HTC sync to my laptop and tried connectig through there (really just reaching for straws at this point).
I even found this procedure and did this as well "1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button. 2. Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button. 3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER. 4. When asked to confirm, press VOLUME UP Regards"
I just received my unlocked g1 the other day. I was a hardcore i phone owner but now switched over. I am trying to find out all of the useful apps and if there is anyway i can get access to the paid apps? Also is there anyway i can download and read pdf or doc files?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new on here as I only got my HTC Hero the other day, and while trawling the internet for answers this place kept coming up. I have a few questions about this phone, or more to the point, the android OS running it. I see that it only has android 1.5 on it at the moment, and there are no newer upgrades available yet. That said, I've read in numerous places on the net that android 2.1 is coming to the HTC hero at the end of this week or start of next week depending on your network, is this true? What would this upgrade actually improve? My new phone seems pretty stable and usable as it is already, wasn't voted best phone of 2009 for nothing I guess. My second query is about the apps from the android market. When this 2.1 upgrade comes, I expect it'll wipe the phone clean and reinstall with the newer OS. If any apps are already paid for, will I have to pay again to download them a second time? Or is there any way of me backing them up first?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI got the Desire on contract upgrade and have just booted it up.
It appears that it only wants to download some applications with most kicking back a "Download Unsuccessful" including some that I have purchased before.
I am running 2.1 -update 1 right out of the box software number 1.19.161.5
I've tried a factory reset with still no avail.
I'm trying to download it using my wireless router which I'm sitting right beside so signal is no problem.
I was wondering about GPS apps on the android phones. I was wondering if I were to get the 200 MB data plan for AT&T, would I be ok with Google Maps, and can I download them via wifi, and can I store them? And is the Tom-Tom app worth it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs anybody download the PaPi games from market and played it?
I found when I played one of this series of PaPi game and I input my name, then all series PaPi games can read this name.
At beginning, I consider maybe the application saved some data which can be shared by other PaPi games, but when I "Factory data reset" and format the SD card, then I download these games and play them again, it's so crazy that these games can read my name which I inputed before all the same!!
next, I consider maybe the application read the only code of the phone (IMEI) to identify the phone, but I check the install information about all the PaPi games, I can't found any information about "READ PHONE STATE",so I think these applications didn't read the IMEI code. who can tell me how to achieve this function?!
1) how do I view what's on my SD card?? And how do I even put things there in the first place?
2) I see all this talk about app killers (pro/con) but I don't know if there is a way to actually close apps properly. Is there?
3) if I download something form the internet (like say a menu from a restaurant) how do I go and find that later??
How do I download and app and install onto my SD Card? Do I first need to isntall onto my device then use a file manager program to move it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAre there any emulators on the webs that I could download (other than the paid ones on the marketplace) that work pretty well? I'm all down for paying for apps and stuff to support the devs but it would be cool if there are free ones out there that work just as well. I figured I'd ask here first instead of googling it without knowing what to really look for.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout a week ago my phone inexplicably stopped being able to download from the Market. No reason is given, the thing just stalls at the 'starting download' screen. Today, nearly a week later it's finally given me a clue what the problem might be. A notification icon appeared, claiming that I'm low on internal storage. I clicked on the message thinking that it would take me to something useful like a file manager, but no such luck. It took me to the application manager to, I assume, remove some apps. I've got nothing to remove. The only two extra apps I'm running right now are 3G watchdog, Twitter, and Kindle.
As far as I know not much is being stored internally, but is there anyway I can find out what is being stored - I can't find a file manager anywhere. The only thing I can think of is messages might be clogging the thing up (text and mail) I have a mail widget running but it only picks up 1 day's mail at a time - are the messages stored on my phone or are they simply viewed on the server. I also have a few hundred text messages stored, but I can't imagine they would take up that much space?
I cannot find download link on the applications page.
Example : ThinkFree Office Mobile
I try after signing on.
Just picked up my Christmas gift early. Hubby let me use his upgrade to get a Samsung Moment. I am coming from a BB 8330. Any suggestions on what apps to d/l immediately?
View 8 Replies View Related1:I am downloading apps from the market and I have bought one. Now for last 24 hours it has been trying to download these and just wont. The one i bought still says authorizing purchase. Now why is this? I still have about 11MB of storage on the phone. 2:Why is there not more in built memory especially if the makers knew ALL applications and games would be installed to the phone? isn't it obvious that should have allowed support to install directly to SD card (like with me old nokia E51?) 3:When is this new Android update coming to the Desire, how do you go about getting it?
