FRG22D was installed, fully rooted. The only problem is the grayed out Bluetooth ON/OFF toggle. On occassion, it will light, very rarely, but when you click it, it goes to gray. The suggested threads provided no useful information cincerning this problem

Rooted 2.2 android with chevyno1 kernel will i get prompted for the 2nd update? I rooted after the first update so I'm not sure how this works.

I have a friend who has an older android phone, I think it is a vodaphone branded phone, he has the ability to turn on bluetooth and if a connection is not made within a short time bluetooth automatically turns off and it also turns off if it is not connected for a short period. Sounds ideal if you want to connect to a head unit (bluetooth enabled car radio).I have seen such an app for android but it was only for Andriod 1.5 (or 1.6) and not any version newer than that - is there such a thing for 2.1 and 2.2 in the future?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Plantronics headset, and a Sony car stereo (w/ BT). When I'm in the car, I prefer to use Bluetooth over the stereo, so I'm looking for a quicker way to swap between the two devices without having to go into settings.
Auto-switching would be preferable, but a widget that can just bring up all device so I can select which one I'd rather use, would work, too.
Are there commands to switch the bluetooth adapter on and off from the shell? Googling has turned up nothing in particular.
(If it matters, I'm using a Galaxy Nexus, and trying to put together a script to cycle my bluetooth adapter on boot.)
My Incredible is rooted. For the past few days I've received a notification that a system update will be installed and the phone will reboot. Nothing happens, no reboot and no evident change. Now that the phone is rooted do I need to apply updates manually? Should I take the Verizon updates at all? (The only specific change mentioned in (more info" for this update is the addition of an app called "Slacker").

Using the optical trackpad select Wipe > Wipe data/factory reset
After this has completed do Wipe > Wipe cache
Again, once this has completed do Wipe > Wipe Dalvik-cache.
I understand that the sd card gets wiped and that is not a problem, i'm more worried what gets wiped from the phone memory (not worried about installed apps) also can i do the ext3/4 from the phone as i only have windows 7.
I am getting calls going straight to voicemail with no missed calls on my phone, when I have full signal, so orange have (after a lot of calls) agreed to terminate my contract. I have to return my phone (shame I could not keep it for free!) and have rooted my phone, and installed the modaco ROM.
I want to return it with an orange ROM, and was wondering if I can just install the updated orange ROM on my phone over the top of the modaco, and has anyone done this successfully? From reading around I am assuming that this would hide the fact that I have ever rooted or installed a custom ROM, as I want to be back on warranty?
Installed flash 10.1 today and since then...won't boot up at times, screen orientation won't switch, lock-ups, pages hang, multiple reboots etc. How do I uninstall this? I've looked on the phone and tried to research online without any luck so I have turned to to the real experts. Help!

I got fed up of waiting and decided to root. I decided to go with 3rd wave 2.2 and everything went smooth. Now my question is if I want to try other Roms do I need to do anything special or just download to the SD card and repeat the same drill. Or do I need to do a recovery and or uninstall wave prior to installing a new rom?

View 7 Replies View RelatedHey everyone. So a couple of weeks ago i took the plunge and rooted and haven't looked back. I wanted to get rid of my ipod for the gym seeing as i carry my phone anyway so i spent a few hours making playlist (i have over 20gb of music to go through) and used isyncr to put them on the droid. Great app by the way. Anyway so i tryed to pair my bluetooth headphones to the droid and it just scanned and never found the headphones. I tried like 20 times and yes i had the phone discoverable. So i had my Lt. at work try it on his android phone and the hooked right up. Is there something that could have happen in the root that messed up my bluetooth. Running sholes 2.0.6. Went to droid mod1 but it was killing my battery so i went back to sholes. Any help would be great.

It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

However, now when I press the "Home" button, only the default launcher takes over. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing both but nothing changed. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how I might be able to get it so that I can switch launchers again?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm a noob but planning to root my Moto Droid using the method outlined by OMJ in All Things Root (Rooting the Droid without rsd lite up to and including FRG22D). To this point, I have downloaded and installed the Motorola Drivers and ADB Toolkit. I have verified that I can see the Droid in a CMD window with the "ADB Device" command. Before I preceed, I wanted to make sure that understand where I will be at the end. I know this is an easy question for lots of rooters but I just wanted to make sure I understand.
At the end of commands and on reboot, my phone will be rooted. I should have the Superuser icon. My data and settings will all be intact. I will have the stock ROM (FRG22D), stock recovery, stock kernal, etc. At this point, I should be able to install ROM Manager which will, in turn, allow me to install ClockworkMOD recovery. At this point, a Nandroid backup is recommended. I can also download SetCPU that will allow me to overclock the stock kernal to 800 Mhz. ROM Manager will allow me to download a custom kernal for overclocking to 1 Ghz (and higher but I plan to start with what others have recommended). Again, my data and setting are intact because I am still using the stock ROM. Any apps requiring root (i.e. WiFi teather) should work fine at this point. I can go back to stock unrooted at anytime by flashing the FRG22D stock sbf file with RSD Lite although any user data will be lost. Does this sound correct?. I know that many folks are going for the custom ROMs but I feel more comfortable with "baby steps" in that direction.
I am on ESD56 (2.01) and I want to go to FRG22D (2.2). What is the best way to get there? Can I do it in one shot or do I need to go step by step by step (and what are the step versions?). Happy to stay un-rooted, with my stock Verizon phone. Am out of the country for a while, I have wifi but no cell or data roaming just now.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDroid frg22d update stops syncing with exchange 2010 - Verizon Wireless Community. Apparently I'm not the only one with elevated frustration. Short version of the story:
- Spent hours on the phone w/Moto & Verizon explaining that my OG Droid will no longer connect to ActiveSync w/ Exchange 2010 SP1.
- Verizon & Moto both admit problem.
- Moto says they're working on it. Verizon says to pay $44.95 a month and it will work.
- If I hear one more "supervisor" tell me that it's my problem, and to either pay more, or use TouchDown ($20 app that sucks by the way) I am going to start a class action. Yes, I have the money, and no, I'm not bluffing.
- Please post your woes on this forum as I am starting a case # with the BBB on this matter and I need as much ammo. as possible.
Verizon Wireless is supposed to be releasing FRG22d today (Aug. 24th 2010) I want to know if there is any way to save all of my settings that I use in Handcent SMS because I have done a factory reset about 3 or 4 times now and handcent is always my biggest problem when reinstalling my apps, just because of all of the custom settings. Is there a way to save these settings to my SD card or something to be automatically applied after the factory reset and cache wipe?

I have tried to update the default youtube app on my nexus one (Froyo) numerous times. I get the message "Error Installing - Package file was not signed correctly". I am trying to upgrade from 1.6.21 to 2.0.26.I have tried unmounting my SD card, clearing the cache for the android market, the download manager and the original youtube app.
