I have installed cyanogenmod 9 in my Sony Live Walkman, and the kernel that comes with it.
Can I install a new kernel (like rage kernel) without having to install the rom (CM9) again? It will work just replacing the kernel?

Anyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

Up til now I've only loaded Fab's themed ROMs that have the kernels baked in. I'm getting ready to try Bugless Beast .8 with a smoked glass theme and AdamZ Kernel. Both the theme and ROM are .zip files. The Kernel is a .img. Do they all flash thru clockwork the same as one of Fab's ROMs? Do I need to do anything with that kernel.img file (rename, unpack, whatever)? Of course, beforehand I'll do a full format of boot, sys, cache, and, data...

Anyway, I downloaded the Chevy 5 slot 1GHz kernel and named it update.zip and when I install it says it's installing fine but when I go to reboot my phone freezes up at the Motorola screen. I'm now not too bothered if I can have the update I just want my phone, can I just turn the phone off while it's on that screen? Do I leave it overnight attempting?

i did factory factory reset, cache wipe, and davlik wipe after that flashed the Kernel Aroma installer, the rom and the gapps from this link.after i flashed them i rebooted and the phone doesnt pass the reboot screen, got stuck on it for few seconds and then restart and stuck again.

When i try to enter the recovery mode , it shows a screen with an android and a triangle " ! "

I had done a mistake 2 days ago by installing XGS Serie's ROM in my DHD. After installing the ROM from recovery the phone is'nt booting and just animated X. Today, I looked online for overclocking my LG Optimus F3, and I found this thread "[MS659][F3] Freedom Kernel Overclocked" (I'm a newbie xda won't let me post links yet). So, dummy me, I got all excited and flashed the MS65910c firmware to my phone like the thread said I needed to have (I didn't know that that would switch my service providers as I had Virgin Mobile). So, I'm a little confused still... Can I still have Virgin Mobile service with MetroPCS firmware? If not, I want to restore my device back to Virgin Mobile firmware (LS720ZV6). View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently flashed my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 with the Resurrection Remix ICS v.1.9.1 ROM and everything went fairly well except that my external sdcard looked like it had been totally erased. While this was irritating it was not devastating (had a backup) but when i attached my sgs2 to my computer to copy the backup back to the sdcard i noticed that everything was there, i hadn't lost a single file. I went back and looked at the card via my phone and it still looks empty but i did notice (after further inspection) that it is almost full. I checked to make sure view hidden files was enabled, it was, but still nada (using OI File manager and File Explorer).
