Jul 12, 2010I have upgraded my HTC Hero to 2.1, and I need to change my gmail password, but I don't want to reboot my device, and the other ways are not working. do anyone know a solution ?

Jun 21, 2010GF picked up LG Ally, verizon rep transferred her contacts from her previous phone to the Ally - all was fine. A day later she needed to change her gmail password, which she did - the phone complained about a sync error, asked for her new password and gmail sync worked again. (So far the same as my Inc). After changing the password, she noticed that on the Contacts tab, only one person, herself, is displayed. Looking in the call log and performing searches, we see that all of the previous contacts are, in fact, still stored in the phone somewhere. I have tried changing which groups of contacts sync with the phone, pretty much everything with the exception of a factory reset.

Sep 14, 2010I had to change the password for my Gmail account. I can't seem to figure out how to change the password on the phone. The only option I see is to reset the phone. I can't delete and reinstall the gmail account because it is the default account for the phone. I really hope I don't have to reset this thing.

I changed it to text, and it worked.

Aug 20, 2010For a few real and a few imagined problems yesterday I went on-line and changed my gmail password. Then I tried to find on my X where to update the new password. After looking in what I thought was everywhere I called tech support and they said it was hard coded. I would need to "wipe" the phone and start fresh. Some words about lost data as well.
He suggested tring to get back to the original password which gmail allowed without resetting a few more times. After thinking about this though, there are more than a few good reasons to change passwords and this seems a bit on the dumb side to me.
Was he wrong or is the OS wrong to have this hard wired? Since Google runs this whole thing doesn't it seem like they should make it a tad more user friendly if that is the case?
HTC Hero :: Gmail/mail App Force Password?

1) I have been using the gmail app that came with my hero,and was wondering,
is there anyway I can FORCE a password/login page?
I am a little iffy about someone else having the opportunity to view my personal email quite easily just by clicking the app.
2) I was playing around with the Mail app that came with my hero and logged in to my gmail, so now anytime I click on the mail widget,it immediately pulls up my gmail.
Is there anyway to dis-associate my gmail with the Mail app? I tried going under settings> applications> manage applications> Mail, but alas, I couldn't find a way to erase the info.

I want the keyboard changes only appear only number ( not complete keyboard as the default) when user at login menu. What should i do? HTC EVO 4G :: Can't Change Google Password / Fix This?
Oct 20, 2010I'm writing because I'm having some trouble. Due to some hacking attempts, I had to change my primary gmail password to something wacky, and now, of course, my EVO can't access my google account for my contacts and calendar.
I can't find a way to change the password, however. I've tried clearing the data from the gmail program as recommended in another thread, but now I keep getting the captcha over and over again.
Any advice or suggestions as to what I can do to fix this?

I've never seen this pop up on any android phone we've had. She does use the native Email app on her corporate account, so this may be due to that. The password screen locks and when it asks for the user name and password it states invalid user name / password!
Is this a known problem since when I called and talked to both Verizon and HTC the only thing they could tell me was to do a hard reset and they weren't aware of this problem?

Mar 5, 2014I set a password to encrypt the disk on my N4. When I reboot the phone it ask me a password with a standard keyboard.
My question is : can we change this keyboard for another one or at least its orientation?
the cause is that my screen is broken on the lower right coin and it block the "Done" button. annoying...
The TWRP keyboard to decrypt the disk should be fine (its "done" button is larger enough)

May 17, 2010I have just swapped from an iPhone 3G to the Desire and am getting stuck whilst familiarising myself with the phone (and making it similar to my iPhone). I have put an unlock password on the phone but it is a pain as it requires alpha and numeric so I want to go back to using the visual password. Problem is I cannot find how to get the phone to swap back to using a visual p/w. Anyone able to help Whilst here is there an app out there to wake up the phone when you press any key and/or have the iPhone keypad pop up to unblock the phone? Other than that it is an impressive bit of kit and better than the iPhone in many ways but flawed in some basic areas such as the pathetic speaker. It nearly went back when I first heard it and seems a surprising oversight given it is obviously aimed at the social end of the market.
