Sep 13, 2010I noticed that the touch web version on the LG ally (Running 2.1 update) shows the places check in. But the app doesn't...yet. Anyone got some info on it?

May 10, 2010I've had my (generic) Desire for a few weeks now, and have a really nagging/annoying problem in that, where i've added contacts (on the phone memory) and then synced with facebook, it's pulling in their mobile phone number from facebook, but is defaulting to 447584... and will not let me call the contact without first editing the number to read 07584...
The only way around this so far as i can tell, is to manually add the number again as a 'Home' number but with a 0 in place of 44, as re-adding as a mobile just defaults back to the 447584... and then assigning the 'Home' number as the primary contact number. Does anyone have any ideas whether this is a bug or something i've done myself, and also whether there is a way i can update my whole phonebook to change the 44's for 0's rather than manually going through and changing them?

Aug 19, 2010Facebook rolled out a new places feature last night. Non-Iphone users are supposed to be able to use it through the touch.facebook.com site, but I am not seeing the Places tab when I navigate to that site. Is anyone else able to access this feature?

I hear that Places has a lot of potential to surpass Foursquare but like that guy said, it looks pretty boring. I don't want to do Foursquare and then have to start over if/when Places takes off and adds all those points, badges, and rewards.

Sep 5, 2010I recently added a couple of friends to my Facebook account, and now I want to link them to their Google contact in my phone. Problem is, I can't find them in the options... If I go to the Facebook app, I see them, but when I go to the Google contact to try to link it, they aren't there. I've done some searches and it seems like they are supposed to just pop up randomly. It's been almost a week and that hasn't happened yet.

the problem is that i get emailed when someone replies to a post i make. if i reply to that email, sent by facebook, it updates the facebook post (which i like) but it also adds the facebook email message to my contacts. since each facebook email is different my contacts list is growing quickly.
is there a way to stop the facebook replies being added to my contacts, while still keeping other replies being added to my contacts?
HTC EVO 4G :: Phone Places Digit In Every Number
Jun 10, 2010My phone entries are all area code first, then 7 digit phone number. I've noticed that it places a 1 in front of every number I dial out. I know I can turn this off, but is it necessary to do this by Sprint? I know my ATT phone didn't need the 1 in front, area code by itself worked fine, even on long distance calls. I also noticed, if I just type the number in, no area code it looks at it like it's a totally new number than the one in my phone. My last phone wouldn't care if I put area code first, it would pick up that contact and show that picture. Any thoughts on this?

People text using my phone sometimes and they abbreviate things and I like to just type full words but my phone is constantly changing things I type into stupid abbreviations unless I get the spelling 100% perfect which means I have to stop and check every word when I am trying to text fast. I can't seem to find where I would do this in my settings.

I'm having trouble with setting some properties to an EditText added this way. For examle android:maxLength attribute can easily be set in an xml layout but I found no method to do the same in the java code. How can I do it when hawing to add dynamically?

Here's my problem , after i accidentally remove google account from my phone and after i re-added my google account back to the phone , my phone keep redownload deleted apps . I tried to disable google sync like google drive and data and samsung backup and even disabled backup on my phone but its still not working. I also tried to go play store but i can't find anythings thats related to the problem .I deleted the deleted apps 5 times but after i deleted it , my phone keep redownload it back from play store. Is this a new malware ?
Im using Samsung S4 i9500 and I'm running latest firmware android kit lat 4.4.2 and no root.

Sep 12, 2010I am still in the process of learning and customizing this phone so there may be a famous app that takes care of this but I did a search and found nothing. I am not a big fan of how the contact list shows friends from facebook/gmail/Phone. I only want it to show contacts that I have personally added on my phone. Is there a way I can arrange this. I have it to where it remembers phone contacts only when I hit contacts but as soon as restart, it goes right back to all contacts. It also comes up when I try to text someone or in the contact section of the dialer. I just dont like this. I don't mind that they are there, persay, but I don't want it to be default all the time. Is there a way to change this?

What I am looking for is some sort of smart phone that can do the following: GPS navigation stuff, makeing bookmarks of places, and entering coordinates is good. Voice over IP . even if it is using the voice implementation of something like ventrally, that would work, even better is to have it act like a true phone. Ideally I want to do this so that I can use WIFI network, rather then phone minites, to keep monthly cost down. Phone and video are cool and all, but on my current "dumb" phone I don't use them at all.

Jan 22, 2014I recently got my first Android and am really digging the Google contacts integration. Especially with the Google+ profiles (even though.. who uses Google+??).
One issue I have, though, is that some of my contacts have G+ profile pics, and they show in my Hangouts app (when I text those people), but those pics do not show in the "Google People" app where I go when I want to look at my contacts. They also don't show in my phone dialer when I dial them by name.

Jul 28, 2010My current Incredible was rebooting 5-10 times a day randomly and when I am at work my average data speed is about 90kbps. This is with a -50dbm signal. So my signal is fine but for some reason the data speeds are terrible. At home with roughly the same signal my speeds are what they should be around 900kbps. I wiped it and the reboots haven't happened again yet but the data speeds are the same.
Is it possible for the data to be painfully slow even though the signal is good? I received a refurb today and am hesitant to switch to it because I am just weird and don't like owning previously owned things. But if the data should be fast everywhere I will give in and use the refurb. I just don't want to see my original Incredible go.
