I am just wondering why I cant access the gallery using the code below. Intent gallery = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse("content:// media/internal/images/media")); startActivity(gallery); but when I installed the 3D gallery from cooliris, it is already possible. I can access the images from the installed 3D gallery. But why cant I access the preinstalled gallery on the device?

I want to auto select an image in gallery and focus the selected image. I know the position (index) of the image in gallery. I am trying to use in res/layout/main.xml

I'm trying to set the selection of a Gallery in code. I would like to have the Gallery smoothly roll down a few items over the duration of a second or two. At frist glance, it appears that two members would to the trick:Gallery.setAnimationDuration(int animationDurationMillis); Gallery.setSelection(int position, boolean animate); It turns out that the setAnimationDuration only seems to affect the rubber-bandy "return-to-center" effect of the Gallery. In other words, when a gallery comes to rest after a fling, and a gallery item is off center, the animationDurationMillis is used to control the duration of the Gallery centering up the item. However, the value seems to have no effect on the setSelection. No matter what value is set with setAnimationDuration, the Gallery seems to render about 2 or 3 frames when flying between items 1 and 10 for example. Is this working as designed? Does anyone know a trick or workaround that would let me properly animate setSelection? I'd be especially grateful if we could do it with an "Ease Out" effect.

It seems to create several different folders. I can't seem to find a way of merging these folders to make it look neater & some folders cannot be deleted? View 3 Replies View RelatedI connected my phone to my computer through disk drive so that I could manage the Gallery. I found my Gallery in the DCIM folder and created three new folders within that folder.
However, if I go to the Gallery on my Desire Z, all my pictures are still lumped into one main folder. A friend of mine, who also has the Z said that his pictures are not in the DCIM folder, but somewhere else on his SD card.
Am I doing something wrong, did I create folders in the wrond location or is something else going on here? It should be possible to have several seperate folders in your gallery, right?
The Gallery on my Desire isn't refreshing when I have copied new png files to a folder.The new folder just isn't appearing.Any ideas?The phone is using ota ROM which is stock vanilla rooted 2.2
View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo recently on my HTC Desire and noticed that the preview picture on my gallery folders changed. Is there an easy way to change the preview picture of the folder? It seems to be using the first picture in the folder. I tried deleting the folder and recreating it from my computer but didn't work. The first picture in the folder also doesn't seem to be related to the alphabetical order, or date order so not sure why it's even picking that picture as the first one.

Is there any way to get it to use the whole picture. as it stands, whenever I try to use a picture for my wallpaper, it makes me crop the picture, and no matter what I do, the crop box never lets me use the whole picture, its like there's a size limit or something.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor a while now the thumbnail gallery has sometimes merged pictures - so on the thumbnail it's actually a combination of more than 1 picture. This hasn't really bothered me until recently because the more pictures I take the worse it's getting, so much so that I can't always tell which picture I'm going to be looking at until I actually select it. In every case the picture views correctly on the screen when I view them one at a time, it's just a problem with the thumbnails. I've attempted to clear the gallery cache which made it appear slightly better but not by much. I've checked the DCIM / .thumbnails folder but there's just loads of files in there saying file and RAW file and to be honest I don't know what it's all about. I've trawled the net and checked the forums but cannot seem to see a solution - does anyone know what I can do in order to solve this?

It asks if I want to connect to a Wifi hotspot, but I'm already connected to the wireless box in my flat. The Internet's working on my phone, because I've been surfing the web and going on Facebook, YouTube etc.

To be clear, if I gave the gallery a decent swipe and my center (selected) image has changed 8 times, I would like to catch this event 8 times. OnFling() just indicates a single swipe - regardless how many items have shifted.Getting getSelectedItemPosition() before and after the swipe doesn't help since I need to do some work on every shift.It will also be nice while I am at it, to get the direction of the shift - either right or left.

For this to happen on a phone is completely unacceptable. Before my SD card was rendered unusable, I used to get problems like whenever I try to take a photo, it would not allow me to because of an SD card issue. Restarting would solve that. That is also unacceptable. Where do I go from here? Have i lost all my data? What is to sat that this wont happen again?

I tried customer services but the girl said she couldn't help because O2 don't yet sell the Desire. She spoke to the technical department and then came back and told me how to access the wi-fi in my house. Any suggestions, or do I need to wait until they start to sell the handset? What if I had another handset that they don't plan to sell?!
