View 1 RepliesI had my mobile unlocked from the T mobile network, so i could use my three sim card in the HTC Desire. However the sim works fine making calls, and using the wifi, but I cannot access the mobile internet. Three have told me the mobile is not compatible as it is not a three phone. Can anyone please assist? When i boot up the phone T Mobile branding appears, has this got anything to do with it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedHaving been optimistic that I would finally be able to use all the fancy bits of the internet with my Desire, I find myself somewhat nobbled. I am particularly interested in using the BBC site - but I can't access any audio, video or iplayer from my phone. Beebplayer worked once, literally, but can now only access radio stations. I have done some reading and understand that:the BBC haven't yet released a proper Android app. the Flash lite that comes with 2.1 may not work with everything, some people have found incompatibility issues with T-mobile. I appreciate that BBC is not the only fruit, but for a user of a multi-media phone, I find it crazy that I can't use their site properly. I don't appear to be able to access any live TV or news streaming elsewhere either. My phone is not a fashion accessory - I bought it because I wanted a phone and reliable and quick access to news (in different forms), without the premium of an iPhone. It's so frustrating, I feel like I've bought the wrong phone, even though I know it's not really the handset itself that's the problem! After all, it is marketed as having Flash and being more than able to cope with multi media on the internet. but apparently not for everyone. Whilst waiting for Android 2.2, the BBC, T-mobile... or whatever else needs updating. what can I do?

I am on a debranded Orange handset running Android 2.2. Had the phone for around 4 months without issue. I went to London last weekend and started noticing problems with the mobile internet. I was largely relying on it to get me around but the mobile internet is playing up. Even if I have H or 3G signal, my phone has suddenly stopped getting internet access or i get network errors. Nothing has changed on my handset and I usually get good signal wherever I go. I'm currently in work where I always get 3G symbol. I have the 3G symbol now with both arrows animated yet my web browser won't load anything and the market place just says I have no network access. Could this be something to do with the Orange/T-Mobile merge? Or has my phone died on me?

View 4 Replies View RelatedRight basically you can find the UK T mobile internet settings on the T mobile website. On the Speed Test app, the highest speeds I get are 1.8m/bs downloads and around 500kpbs upload. However, those were at off peak times at night etc (probably when nobody is using the net).Generally I get anything from 0.3 m/bs to 0.9 m/bs though. Lately I've been experiencing some inconsistent internet speeds and reconnection attempts so for I've gone back to the default settings. Tbh though I'm not sure if it makes much difference.

But, the laptop connection gets no Internet access. I've tried it with and without security set up. I've rebooted. I even took the battery out and let it rest. (All of that cleared out the Error 67 on the phone but still the laptop sees no Internet.) Internet on the phone is great - even got 4G, but. What in the heck am I doing wrong? How can I get Internet access for the laptop?

Here's why I ask: I have an app that syncs info between the internet and the phone. When I can't get a signal, it can't sync. Often I have crappy reception at home, one or two bars only (a whole 'nother thread), but I do have a strong wifi signal.
Being a newbie to all this, in my little world, logic assumes that the phone would automatically switch from 3or4G to wifi for the exchange of data (but not for talking). But I think I don't have it right. Can someone explain it to me? And how to best set up my phone to take advantage of the strongest signal for data exchange?
I'm having an issue with HTC One. The problem is the phone CAN connect to wifi / mobile network, but it CANNOT access internet. Every time I try to access any websites or apps that require internet connection like Facebook, it takes so long for the page-loading thing, and then it said:"The webpage is not available" or "No network connection." I also attempted to shut it down and restart, disconnect wifi and re-type the password. It doesn't work at all.
P.S: I did test the other devices, and the network works fine. So, apparently, it's not the network problem itself.
My wife did the froyo update today (8-8-10) she is unable to access the internet and receives this message : The application Internet (process com.Android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Then the " Force close " box pops up. She took it to the Sprint store and they were stumped, the phone says that it is connected even though it is not!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have used below steps for setup the my emulator
1.C:Program Filesandroid-sdk-window ools>adb shell
2. # sqlite3 /data/data/com.google.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
3. sqlite> INSERT INTO system VALUES(99,'http_proxy', '10.10.8.1:8080');
After that i closed adb shell command prompt and my emulator. and then opened my emulator but webbrowser is not opening any page(web page not available messaage) .
I've been using this method to gain access to internet from my Android emulator. emulator -http-proxy <> -avd <>
It works but is that the best way to do it? It just doesn't feel right that I need to open the emulator from command line and can't just do it from Eclipse or something.
Can't seem to find an internet option on the "AVD Manager" either.
I just installed the SDK and then added the 1.6 component. Then I created an AVD. When I launch the AVD (inidentally, there is a brief error message saying could not load preferences) and try and login, it says no network connection. THe computer definitely has an Internet connection, otherwise I could not write this message.. Evberything I have read suggests you don't have to do anything special to get Internet access in the emulator. My computer's Internet connection is via LAN, which connects to a 3G router. I read something about using 10.0.2.2 in the proxy settings, but when I specify that in their SDK, the SDK hangs upon launch as it tries to find the repository, or whatever it does at startup.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI like LBE Privacy Guard, especially for its on-demand permission requests when an app asks to access my SMS Inbox or whatnot; I like that I can ensure that it never accesses it, always does without asking, or continues to ask each time.
I'm also using the firewall with mixed results; I don't like having to choose each app and whether it's allowed to access the internet via 3g/wifi ahead of time. I'd like a popup request with similar options (though I guess it would be more like a timeout rather than per-session, e.g. "yes it can access the internet over my 3g connection but only for the next 10 minutes."
Is there already an app that does this? I've checked a few firewall apps like Droid Wall (and a few similar apps) and they don't offer this on-demand (or on-app-accessing-internet, I suppose!)
I am unable to get internet access for my installed apps. I am able to browse through default browser and opera mini, suggesting that my internet connection is working fine. However, none of my apps are able to access it. I cannot use Play Store or youtube. I cannot even login to either twitter or facebook via their apps. I am using Nexus One on stock Froyo. Phone is rooted.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAt my campus, to get internet connection, I need to log on to a SSH server like they write:.you must manually log in to the firewall server, by establishing a pseudo-tty-less ssh connection to it. The following command can be used on most systems: ssh -T -l [username] [server-URL]I must be logged on to the server for as long as I want internet.Does anyone have any idea how to accomplish this on Android?I have a little experience in writing basic apps for Android, but not much with SSH, any help is appreciated.
/Update
Tried ConnectBot, but the server replies "You may only connect without a pseudo-tty!" at login attempt. I have no idea what "pseudo-tty" is, and I have looked in the settings of ConnectBot, there is no mention of this.
/Update2
Searched for any further info about the pseudo-tty-less function, in connection with OpenSSH. No luck so far, only a definition of the -T parameter which has no equivalent in ConnectBot.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAS per the question, how many of the HTC apps require you to be online to do anything? Like are they all weather, sat nav, or use the internet to show you locations, and such? I'm just wondering how many apps will require me to use GPRS when outside of a WiFi zone, which would be quite a lot of places really!
