I downloaded PdaNet because when my brother uses it for online gaming he gets about 200-400 latency and when i use it for the exact same game i get 900 and it keeps going up and up to about 6.7k latency. Does using a laptop make a difference vs. using a desktop? or should it?

I had been thinking about using pwdhash for firefox then I could keep my info between the desktop and laptop, still does not help with the android though.
I've been looking high and low for something that can achieve what is mentioned here, but to no avail. I would like the ability to send/receive messages directly from my Desktop without having to touch my phone (something similar to AirDroid, though unfortunately it only supports SMS).
AirDroid claimed they were able to make it work, though it requires root and other permissions that may infringe privacy rights. this leads me to believe that a similar software should exist.
Don't suggest emulators/BlueStacks - as the experience is suboptimal, and/or one would be required to have a separate phone number or sign out from the phone service in order to use it exclusively on the desktop.
Having owned 11 different Android phones/tablets since 2010, I have a gazillion apps listed in my Google Play Store account. I know it is possible to individually delete apps from my phone/tablet, but for the love of all things telephony, once you delete an app it takes you back to the frickin' top of the list. I thought there would be a simple way to do this by going to the Play Store on my laptop, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get rid of them. I realize it is not a big deal, but being the obsessive person that I am, once I try to do something.
When I log into my Google Play Store account on my laptop and go to "My Apps", it lists all the apps that I have ever downloaded, but there doesn't appear to be a way to delete them like there is on a device!

I know that the ability to turn Sense off without rooting the phone exists on the Evo, but from what I've heard that feature doesn't actually turn it off, but only hides it. My question is does flashing new radio files and pellet files actually increase and or decrease how well the radio works on the phone. I noticed hat once I installed wireless tether that my WiFi signal seems to go down 1 or 2 bars when the laptop is not even 10 feet away. Is thus normal. Anyway I'm very knew to the whole flashing of radio files and just wanted to hear if it does anything or not.

I don't want to lose any data (pictures, texts, etc) and I don't want to lose any apps. I've read a bunch of threads and it sounds like this is the general order I should proceed in:
1 - Backup data with MyBackupPro
2 - Root
3 - Backup apps with Titanium Backup
4 - Install ROM
Is this correct? Am I missing anything? Will the root method or ROM make a difference in terms of the process?

I cant seem to find the answer anywhere. I just came from a Blackberry and I have always sync'd with my desktop at night, mainly to back up my calendar. But now my calendar is with google sync so I have no need to back up to my computer...that I know of? I also haven't seen any mention of a fascinate desktop? Is there one and should I be syncing up?

I am never a big fan of laptops in the first place as my desktop is better, faster and I use multiple screens as work computer. As far as I can tell I only need a portable computing device mainly for office programs like microsoft word and powerpoint, and data storage. I use photoshop but I don't think current smartphones can support it yet. I am reluctant to get a laptop as I know that it will be underutilised. Since my contract phone runs out in June 2011, should I wait for better stuff to come or get a smartphone now? What I really want is a a mobile phone with Sony Vaio P series minature laptop for occasional work. Am I asking too much for the current crop of smartphones?

I am at school right now and forgot the name of the file it needed, but I have no idea how to do this. However, on my machine is slow even after that.The 'phone' responds with a 3-4 seconds delay and everything has a huge lag.Is there any way to improve the performance of my laptop (Asus 1201N) is too rusty for the Android emulator? Tried in different emulator resolutions and the result is the same.My laptop has 2 cores with HyperThreading. And it shows as 4 CPU in Device Manager. However, when using the emulator, just one of the graphs is at 100%. Can I do something to make it work multi core?
