Simple code from Thread-class constructor: Code...
I am trying to make a sniper style game where the user looks through a scope to see a large image that he can navigate. The user can only see part of the image at a time. The image is supposed to be much larger than the screen size that way he has to actually navigate and look for the enemy. How do I use an image that is larger than the screen that the user can navigate? It is kind of like when you are zoomed in to an image and you can pan the image and move it around to see different parts.

Can u let me know how to do this.
I am new to Android Development. What I want is to know how I have to begin thinking to program a neat, sexy GUI. I guess the android.opengl API is a good starting point. Let's say we wanna create something like a simplified 3D-Pool-Billard-Game: You see the table from the top and you have on the table the balls. You want to make them realistic (shadow, gloss).
What kind of Graphics do I need?
How to begin coding?
What kind of classes do I need? For each element (ball, table, ..)?
Where to create and encapsulate the "3D-ness"?
If you know better/additional questions, just add them or/and let me know in which direction I have to think in this case of developing. My skills/background on Java: I've programmed a lot in Java EE and used to handle graphical output with JSP/JSF. So this mobile SE for Android is new to me. Hope to get some intersting stuff together for a smooth access.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I chose to get a Phantom Skinz after reading the reviews. My older Droid was having major reboot issues, so I just exchanged it 3 days ago. Once I determined this new Droid had no glaring issues, it was off to install my phantom...Took 1.5 hours. Wasn't thrilled at the way the corners worked, but it was doable. HOWEVER, when I went to take the dog out and bent over to pick up a ball to throw for him, the once-sticky droid (now slick with the full body skinz), slipped right out of my hoodie pocket. OF COURSE the only place that was scratched was the 1mm of bezel that is not covered by the strangely-engineered top/corner cover. Kinda ticked that I wasted, 1.5 hours, only to make my phone slick enough to fall and have it scratched where the "full body" cover didn't cover.
View 11 Replies View Relatedokay my driod is getting harder and harder to slide open. i noticed on the back of the phone when its slid open you can see a plastic film. the clear film began to bubble and i thought thats what was causing the slide to not open smoothly. i took off the plastic and its opening nicer. i think maybe if i clean and lube gentally the tracks it might work great again.

I have downloaded multiple skins and the icons are all over my pull up menu and i dont need to see them. is there any way to hide them. If not i can get over it but it would be nice not to have to look at them all the time. any help would be much appreciated.

I don't like the fact that dust and crap gets on my phone case every time I put it in my pocket. I'm using the standard case the phone came with from Verizon. I was wondering if there's any case that is like the rubber one, but without the constant need to blow of the dust and lint that attaches itself to the phone Not sure if this is the same. I know it's a jelly case, but I haven't the slightest idea what the differences are between that and the one I have. YouTube - Amzer Screen Shield Installation On HTC Droid Eris

Default is nice, but I'd like to tweak it just a tad, and it says it's skinnable.I just haven't figured out how.well, as usual, as soon as I posted I went back and played with it some more, and it looks like you have to configure it as an app, then install the widget. Correct?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter trying a few of the clip on cases, I hated how they ALL affected the smoothness on the slide out keyboard. If you look closely to whats happening, they force the sliding motion to happen at an awkward angle which causes resistance and I am sure is not good over time. Anyway, after no real satisfaction, I am just going to stick with the verizon screen protector and naked everywhere else.
View 16 Replies View RelatedMotorola DROID emulator skin now available for Android 2.0 SDK! http://teavuihuang.com/android
DROID by Motorola is a Smartphone powered by Android 2.0 and developed in partnership with Google and Verizon Wireless. It was released on 28/10/2009 and will be available in Q4 2009. This emulator skin faithfully brings the DROID to your Android 2.0 SDK in the original WVGA854 resolution (480x854 high density, normal screen). The emulator skin package, screenshots and installation instructions are now available at the above website.
Is it just me or is everyone experiencing excruciatingly slow startup time followed by extermely poor responsiveness on the Android 2.0 emulator? I've got Eclipse Ganymede 3.4.1, Android SDK 5. My Android 1.5 emulator launches in a flash and performs pretty close to the device itself. Whereas 2.0 moves in super-slow-mo.
I'm using the Droid skin from http://teavuihuang.com/android/. The hardware I'm running on is more than capable, albeit I admit I'm on Vista. The point is the old emulator flies (and all my other apps fly), and the new emulator crawls.
I just installed this widget but cannot get any of the customizable skins to install. Everytime I try, it says "install failed"....any suggestions?
