Android :: Sharing Wifi With Bluetooth Or Wifi?
Jul 28, 2010I have a single user access to a Wifi device on my macbook. I'd like to use my HTC evo and sisters iPhone on the Wifi also. Is there any way I can broadcast the wifi from one of my devices. I know if I had my laptop hardwired I could share the Wifi, but I've not found anything to do Wifi to Wifi. or Wifi to Bluetooth. Any know, I don't have data plans on the cell phones as I am out of town.

Aug 9, 2010When im on the phone using a bluetooth headset and playing with the phone with wifi on, we both cant hear much and it cuts in and out. As soon as i turn off wifi, its back to normal. Anyone else have this problem?

Jan 4, 2010Driving home on a BT HF call tonight I kept hearing distortion every minute or so thinking that I might have a cell tower issue. This continued for 8 miles and even when I stopped the car in my drive way. I noticed that the problem seemed to disappear after disabling WIFI. My assumption is that with WIFI enabled it scans for a network every so often and interferes with the Bluetooth connection (yes, I know they share bandwidth). I tend to leave the WIFI enabled so it will automatically connect to my home network when I arrive. Does anyone else see an interoperability issue which is driving them to turn off WIFI to avoid BT distortion?

Feb 15, 2010My Eris is not detecting my home wireless network. I've reconfigured the network to try to solve this problem -- my laptop is working great on the Belkin N, but numerous attempts at adding a new wi-fi network to Eris have been unsuccessful. And Bluetooth isn't much better. I did get Eris to pair and connect with my headset, and I actually got it to pair with my laptop, but with the laptop, it says "paired but no connected", even when the laptop's reading indicate that there is a connection. I've checked and rechecked configuration, ensured that both PC and Eris were able to be discovered, scanned and re-scanned, but Eris still won't detect my network. My computer, though, does detect Eris as a wireless device.

Aug 5, 2010So I wrote a thread earlier that flash 10.1 sucks with little to no internet sucks. Which is normal but with wifi turned on at home, I couldn't watch my anime on my phone. Which was really disappointing. Are you guys having problems with the flash player or is it just me? Video was choppy or took forever to load. Plays a few seconds then loads again. So I couldn't get halfway through the episode.

Jul 21, 2010I'm not sure if this started after the update, but every time I use WIFI and Bluetooth, my WIFI connection dies less than a minute after using it. For example, I'll connect my Bluetooth headphones and then start up a streaming music service. In less than a minute, the music stops and my wifi connection is dead (even though it says it is still connected). Can't browse the web, do speed test, etc. Have to disconnect WIFI and reconnect. But it will do it again as soon as I start using the connection.If I turn off Bluetooth, my WIFI works just fine. If I use Bluetooth over 3G, it works fine. It's only when I use both WIFI and Bluetooth and when I start using the Internet.I'm thinking it's either a bug or an interference issue between the WIFI and Bluetooth radios? Sometimes the music will cut out a bit before the WIFI connection totally dies. But if I switch over to 3G, it works fine. I tried several apps too, not just the same music streaming service, so I know it's not the app. Here's the weird part: if I use my Bluetooth headphones while connected to WIFI, but only listen to music that's on my device, it doesn't do it. It's only when I start using the WIFI heavily that it does it.Anyone else experience this? As it stands, I cannot use WIFI and Bluetooth at the same time.

I saw one screen shot in this forum of a very clean, minimalistic bar where green = on, red = off (or something like that) for each setting, but I can't remember which post had that screen shot. I've searched and searched. Anyone remember seeing this? Or what search term should I use in the market to find this sort of widget with multiple settings on it?

From the documentation I can see that pairing request can display a dialog or sent notification. I'd like to know what logic causes my app to sent notification than display a regular pairing dialog. Maybe I'm blind but the problem is I were not aware of that notification and was fighting with pairing problem for few hours :) And I'd really would prefer my app to trigger dialog display.

Nov 19, 2010I have an evo4g and rooted it. I run 2.2 and a month old version of fresh or so.Anyway, just got a usb dongle at newegg for $7. I plugged it in and it connected my phone flawlessly for audio. Basically for audio all I do is toggle bluetooth on on the phone, then.. hit play and music is coming thru my computer speakers. That said - I can't seem to connect for bluetooth wifi. Is there a different driver for the phone that I need to d/l somewhere? Going to the windows 7 (I run win 7 ultimate) it says about my phone under the services tab:
BRCM Advanced Audio
Handsfree Telephony Gateway
Object Push (Obex)
This leads me to believe I need a different driver perhaps? When I go to "Join a Personal Area Network" there are no devices listed. I try to add device but it doesn't find my phone.I know this is kinda complicated so if you dont understand my problem please ask for a clarification.
HTC EVO 4G :: App For Automatic Bluetooth / WiFi On / Off?
Jul 1, 2010Is there an app that will automatically recognize when I am near my bluetooth headset (which I keep in the car) and turn bluetooth on, then off again when I am out of range? Same for my home wifi? I typically turn one off and the other on when I leave the house or come home. Any way to automate it? I know there are ones where you can schedule it, but I don't have a predictable schedule, so that won't work for me.

May 14, 2010I lost my dare phone and need a replacement. I was looking at the droid for its led flash, and rooted wifi teathering for my ipod/future ipad. Also love the gps feature. But the camera kinda sucks, and i'm big on cameras and i'm not sure how future proof the processor is. The incredible does not appear to have an LED flash worked out yet(was my favorite feature on my casio tough phone) and as far as i know none has successfully tethered it to an idevice yet? Do you think wifi tethering is going to be a future on this device? And how do you think Big red is going to handle it? And with the LED flash is it just a matter of time thing or are the talented app developers running into some blockades? Any other considerations between the two devices? keyboard i could care less about, and the price right now is the same.

Aug 18, 2010I had an HTC Desire delivered yesterday, and I used the system update to install 2.2 Everything seemed to work perfectly for 24 hours, but this evening the device is coming up with "Error" when you try to connect to wifi, and it also refuses to switch on bluetooth at all. Does anyone know if this is a 2.2 issue (and therefore likely to be fixed in an update), or if this is a problem that has been around for a while and the phone is knackered? I have seen posts by people with similar issues which predate the 2.2 release, but it can be hard to tell if they were running the official software or not.I want to avoid installing anything that may invalidate the warranty.

Jun 7, 2010I got a problem with my wifi and bluetooth. I bought the nexus one off of someone. The nexus one is rooted with modaco rom and when I went to try to use wifi, it didnt work and when i tried to use bluetooth, it didnt work too. So i thought to myself. The guy who rooted this phone must of did some wrong for me not to have wifi or bluetooth. So I thought it was the rom, so I rooted it back to stock shipping rom. The bluetooth and wifi button on the home screen turn on (like a dark green and it never turns bright green like all the other buttons-well bluetooth turns dark green and then goes back to black and wifi turn dark green and stays like that until i click on it again to shut it off)before that when the Modaco rom was in. The wifi dark green would just stay dark and u can't turn it off and the wifi did the same-turn on and turn back to black. I was wondering what could be wrong. I talked to a google tech and asked him if it could be the hardware and he says the wifi and bluetooth are two different chips and its odd and rare that both would go. So i'm thinking I missing something when I rooted the phone back to stock. I rooted the system.img userdata.img, boot.img and recovery.img. I was wondering does the radio.img have to do anything with it(cause i didnt root that). Will that give me my wifi and bluetooth back. Please help and sorry for long story. Have to make it clear for everyone to understand.
