During the last few days I've been unable to update or install any apps on my UK Nexus 1. I keep getting "Download Unsuccessful"This did coincide with me switching to Gmail instead of Google Mail but I switched it back and things still don't work so I don't think that this is the answer. I have plenty of room on the phone & SD card.

Issue:
I tried to update my angry birds and adobe air. My htc desire was fine during the download, but then when it started installing, my phone would say update successfulness. The same thing happened when i tried to install some new apps.
So I got my N1 today and installed apps w/ no problem. After I manually updated to 2.2, whenever I try and download an app it says "Sorry, there's not enough space to install this item." If I go to settings, SD Card & phone storage settings, it says I have 158MB available space under Internal phone storage. So I have plenty of room to install things, what's the deal?

It seems like the app is downloaded but it gets stuck on installing.
All of a sudden I get an error "insufficient storage available" when I try to update or install any apps from the Google play store. I have deleted the cache for the Play store app and restarted my phone, but I am still having the problem.

I've been trying to update my phone now for nearly two weeks, trying various options, yet nothing I do helps in any way.I started off just running the update from SEUS with my phone as i've been using it.the updater started, gets about 70% through "Preparing" and pops up an error "Unable to install or start software update components." Closing which pops up "try again" or come to this site.I then tried uninstalling all installed components, same result as above.I then tried a Master Reset to factory setting, same result as above.I then disable the Firewall and the Anti-Virus, same result as above.Basically, i'm at the end of my tether, this should not be this difficult, I should not have to jump through this amount of hoops.If there was a way to legitimately root the phone (keeping warranty), I could already have Froyo installed, instead of this irritating mess thats causing me nothing but headaches.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI successfully installed version 1.6 but was having trouble connecting my wifi. I did a factory reset and tried to re-install the ota- radio-2_22_19_26i.zip. After copying it to update.zip on the sd card and booting it would begin the install process. Verified ok. Install started but then I got the "installation aborted" message. Tried several times with no luck. I tried the recovery image process update and it seemed to work.
Questions:
Did the abort occur because the radio update was already done?
Did I actually update the recovery image if the radio update failed?
I have a G1 Dev Phone. I am unable to install the 1.6 radio update from this page: http://developer.htc.com/adp.html The file name is: ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip I push it to the phone as update.zip, do a shell sync, wait 5 minutes, reboot into recovery mode, press alt+L, then alt+S. I get:
-- Install from sdcard... Finding update package... Opening update package... Verifying update package... Installing update... Installation aborted.
While it says "Verifying update package..." a progress bar slowly grows in the background. When it gets to about 50%, the next 2 messages appear and then I'm back to the system recovery menu.
Why are there no error message? What am I supposed to do now?
I have tried a factory reset. I have tried redownloading the package and doing all the steps again. My phone still works, but I no longer get 2G (I'm on an AT&T carrier with a SIM from an iPhone, so I have never gotten 3G). WIFI and making/receiving calls still works, just no 2G
I'm trying to update my SDK but every time I get this same warning dialog:
-= Waning! =- A folder failed to be renamed or moved.
The folder is <ANDROID_SDK>/tools. I searched for help in this group about this error and found some answers. But none of them worked for me. Looking at Process Explorer tool I found that the problem is the "java.exe" that is keeping several JAR file handles opened in that directory. Closing the handles hangs the "java.exe". What can I do? I am stuck in this step.
I have alot (and I mean ALOT) of apps on my Xperia, so I get around 5 app updates a day, which is now starting to agitate me because most of them are the same apps everyday needing updates.
Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?
Does it actually work? I still have to manually update the apps I put on auto update.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe X is my first Android phone, and I am loving it. Night and day difference from the Storm I had. I have installed some free apps from the market. I am, however, unable to install any paid apps. I have tried a couple different ones so far. One was Beautiful Widgets and the other was Tapa talk. After selecting the Buy Now button, it prompts you to log in to your Google account. I do this and then it asks what you want to sync, not sure why that comes up. But then after selecting next, it just goes right back to the app with the Buy Now option. Anyone else seen this that can tell me what I am doing wrong?

Our app (a game client) is designed in such a way, that once it's installed it can be used to download games from a game server. In order for the downloaded games to work, they have to be installed and launched by the client.The problem is that the client has no write/update rights for the / data/dalvik-cache directory, unless we specifically execute the chmod 777 command for that directory. Setting the android.permission.INSTALL_PACKAGES permission in the client's manifest file also doesn't work. After reading countless forums where other people have complained about the same problem, we would like to know when this issue is going to be resolved. Apparently the code for this feature already exists (the DexFile class of the so called "cupcake" release) but it hasn't been released yet.What's more frustrating is that the Android team points out that all Android apps are equal, that system apps are equal in rights to custom apps. Obviously this is not the case. If the client game app is installed in the /system/app the problem described above is solved. System apps have the right to dynamically install other apps. Regular apps (installed in the /data/data folder) do not.Is this issue going to be resolved anytime soon? Will the "cupcake" DexFile class going to be present in the next release? This is a rather urgent problem since we are waiting for this new functionality in order to continue development.

I'm trying to install my app to test it on a real device - my own Nexus one. after downloading and installing the USB driver - the devices charges just fine. after I mount the USB storage (from the device) I can even see the phone's file system from the computer (thus able to move files in and out of the SD card). however - "adb devices" command returns an empty list. also, Eclipse "Device Chooser" doesn't show the device (it shows emulators I previously configured).
