Having an issues with a friends DInc, when we tries to open most apps he gets an error asking him to install Android 1.5 ( lol ) - any ideas? He hasn't tried a factory reset or anything yet.

View 6 Replies View RelatedUp until today i have had no problems with my Desire, then i tried to sync my phone with HTC Sync and the phone couldn't see the software. done the usual and checked and double checked i had the right settings, also un installed it and re installed from the SD card and it see's it but won't allow apps to be installed from my pc 80004005 is the error i get when clicking on the application installer in HTC Sync. I have tried the updated HTC sync from HTC website and that won't even install to my PC, i get an error when clicking the .exe All this was working fine yesterday and now somethings wrong Any ideas guys?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo ive been rooted for a while now. Almost a year now. Ive been using all sorts of roms but recently(up to 2 months ago) i started getting errors. Games like fruit ninja and angry birds will not install on my phone. I have more than enough memory for them and they are downloaded fine, just fail on install. Ive tried all sorts of roms, wiping data/cache, and fix permissions. The market gives me this message "unknown error-18" any help would be great as this sucks.

I cant Install any Apps from the Google Playstore, it get "Error 110" and i cannot install .apk's therefore my device is completely crippled. The newest addition is, that i cant even get into recovery mode anymore, i just get a black screen with some green or blueish lines
Here is what i have already tried which did not work
Wiping the device with the built in "Recovery" 2x
Factory Reset 2x -> Is not working anymore now
Wiping Cache
Creating a second Google account for the Playstore and trying this
Trying to update Firmware with KIES, but it says that "THIS DEVICES FIRMWARE CANNOT BE UPDATED WITH KIES" ...
Like, I have Advance task killer and all but when I end the programs when I turn the phone on, why do some just start up again? For ex: When I'm done with Pandora and go to ATK, Mixing and Doubletab are apparently running. Why does that happen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just picked up the Incredible today and am enjoying the phone so far. Unfortunatly, when I tried to install the included software I got the following error message:
"Error 2738. Could not access VBScrpit run time for custom action"
I tried to use the support feature on the Verizon Wireless site but the only thing that came up for that error message was a link to an article for Blackberrys.

I followed the directions on that link for the command prompt. When that did not work, I downloaded the software from the Verizon Wireless website again. Unfortunatly I got the same error message again. So either all of their software is corrupted, or something is amiss on my end. I am running Vista 32bit on this machine. I have a Windows 7 laptop I could try, but that is not my primary machine and does not have any of my music on it, so I'd rather get this one fixed.
I am trying to figure out what the advantage is to installing to the SD rather than to built in storage.Since my phone has 8GB of internal storage, apps are small, and videos/music are big, wouldn't it make more sense to install the apps to the internal memory, and store media to a 32GB micro sdhc?
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor the last few days i have several apps that dont want to install, or uninstall, or update.I tried deleting them via appbrain, and that hasnt changed anything, i tried canceling their updates or installs in the market, but that hasnt worked,i tried shutting the phone off, i tried a battery pull.every time though when i boot back up these 4 apps keep trying to install and i cant seem to cancel them no matter what, any ideas?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi tried installing a themed news and weather widget to system/app and it's not working properly. it's not showing up on the phone under widgets or in the app launcher. it's not showing up in root explorer in system/app even though it said it was pasted there. it shows up in applications in the settings menu but force closes when clicked on. i also can't install it in data now either. so right now the app is kind of in limbo.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI set up Virtuous 2.6 (was running CMod 6.0.2 but it was restarting, even with the default kernel) this morning and have had this problem with Seesmic and Google Voice in Market where it downloads and then the progress bar goes away and the only button is Cancel download. But I can go into Astro /mnt/sdcard/download and there's Download.apk that is the file downloaded from Market. I was able to install both Seesmic and GV that way but neither are registered in Market, and running Market Doctor in Titanium Backup does not do the trick either.Any ideas on what the issue might be? I'd prefer to stay on Virtuous but not if this keeps happening.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just did a factory reset and made sure I backed everything up, etc. One of the first things I did was install AppBrain so I could reinstall all of my apps.
When I open AppBrain on my phone, none of my apps show up to install. I keep hitting sync and it doesn't bring up anything. I logged into my AppBrain account on their website and all of my apps show up and next to all of them it says "Cancel install".
Is there any way I can install all of the apps from the website? I would hate to have to download and install each app separately.
I open task manager i find no apps running i leave it for 1 min for example and i reopen it, i find some apps running without i run them such as MAIL, Touch input, com.htc why do they open

Mine is going on the third day now and endless Google searches reveal that this problem has affected various Android devices worldwide, including the Incredible that just came out. I've tried all kind of suggestions but none work and there doesn't seem to be any official response from Google on the matter. I wonder if it is a hardware problem since these forums are not buzzing on these issues at all. In my case the phone worked perfectly for 2 days after activating and knowing how high the demand has been surely more people would be experiencing the same issues were it a device or cloud software problem. If anyone else has the same problems please post here.

Now I'm getting "Can't open dex cache '/data/dalvik- cache/system ..." error and emulator doesn't start at all. Just shows Android screen of death with blinking cursor. When I repoint Eclipse back to 1.0 r2 it works fine. I did adb shell and /data folder is empty.

Did a fresh install of Eclipse, JDK and android-sdk.
I am currently receiving this error when creating a new project

I recently downloaded the playstation app. I decompiled, changed the background images to my liking and recompiled. Everything was fine as far as decompiling and recompiling. At first the app wouldn't install. So I went back and during the recompilation process I selected the option to retain original application signature. Now the apk installs, but the application will not open.

There is only a message saying that installation failed, no reason nothing. I thought my installation had gone bad so I tried to export one of my other projects but they still worked fine.
