I just got a HTC Desire and I love it so far, I've spent ages customising it, getting my contacts synced with facebook etc, favourites, bookmarks etc and downloading apps.Now I want to go about putting on a few different ROMs to see what I like. What is the best way to backup all my stuff so that when I do put on a fresh rom I can get all my stuff back as easily as possible?

I just moved to a Galaxy S3 (Tmo) from a rooted MyTouch 4G slide. I'm loath to root this phone due to some issues that arose with my last handset.
I got My Backup Pro, in large part to get my texts back, but also because I'm a petty little child and don't feel like losing the benefit of all of my time-wasting hard-earned progress on games like Angry Birds, Coin Dozer, Temple Run, and the like. When I tried restoring the app data for these games, I got nothin'. The data I backed up from the old phone seemed to avail me not at all on the new one, restore though I tried. and my feeble attempts at finding where the data goes using Astro made me feel about as tech-savvy as the coworkers I'm often called upon to assist with their phones or computers. (At least I got my texts ...)
Is it not possible to restore app data with this program (or any other way) without rooting?
I have a One V, and I want to backup atleast 30 wifi passwords I have stored on my device, but all the apps on play store require root.I can't do that as unlocking the bootloader will remove my phone data, so I'm asking :
If I unlock the bootloader and then restore data still with the stock ROM on, will it restore the wifi data automatically, and then hopefully I can back it up with a wifi backup app (cause there is no way to root device without unlocking the bootloader atm)?Here's what dashboard is showing as backed up:
SO I sinstalled the CM 6.0.0 rom to check it out. I downloaded some apps and fiddled with some settings to see if I liked it, but decided to do a wipe before using it "for real". Unfortunately, I can't get it back to a clean install because it insists on restoring all of my previous settings and applications. Even ones I've uninstalled and gotten refunds for, no matter what settings I put in the Privacy section about backing up and restoring.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got ALOT of accounts set up in K-9 Mail. It normally takes me about an hour and a half to re-set them all up. I've tried this method linked below, but It didn't seem to work for me. I would install K-9 Mail, then import the exported files. I also tried Installing it, setting up one account, and then importing the files. Both cases, it doesn't seem to import any accounts. Issue 549 - k9mail - Enhancement: Ability to export/import account settings. - Project Hosting on Google Code. I have both Titanium Backup (Paid) and MyBackupPro, and I can't seem to figure out how to backup the account settings in those either.

View 8 Replies View Relatedmy Android phone (LG P970). The story is the phone is working as much as I can call and text but the system is not stable. It's freezing a lot and then it's trying to reboot but after every rebooting my phone freeze on LG logo... the only way to run it again is taking out the battery and then system is starting ok but it's loading with all settings and data from few days ago... I have try to flash it with Smartflash tool... whole process whas without any error then phone rebooted automaticly and I find out that after rebooting my p970 sterted with the same old and notstable rom with all the call list and messeges from few days ago.. then I tryed to do the emergency recovery of my phone with LG software. Application asked me to type the model and S/N of my phone so I did that and again the whole process of recovery was ok (with no errors)... Then the phone rebooted on the end which is normal and again started with no effect of recovery.. it was the same ZEUS 7 rom, not stable and with all the data and settings from few days ago... I decided to use Titanium Backup to uninstall all the apps and I was trying to instal ROM MANAGER and run the recovery mode but in the middle of my work the phone freez again and then rebooted and then again freeze on LG logo... I took out the battery and again turned it on and when the system was loaded I find out that all the programs which I have deleted with TITANIUM BACKUP was restored somehow... EVERY time I try to restart in normal mode, reboot in recovery mode or even after flashing system is restarting automaticaly, it freeze on LG logo and the only way to run it again is to take out this battery... then system restoring all data and settings for some reason. maybe some of you know whot software i should use to do the FULL WIPE and get rid of the old borken system?

I downloaded AppMonster and noted that 2 free and 1 paid app are marked 'protected'. I proceeded to 'Backup' and noted those 3 did not back up. How can I get the paid app to save to an SD card? It is the Pure Calendar Widget.

Well, had to do a hard reset and realzied that even though I could reinstall the program, it appears that the notes are not saved anywhere and now I am screwed!To prevent this in the future, is there any way to back up important info that you put into these apps that you get on the Market?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to 2.2 I put all of the apps I could from my phone to my SD card.I did this so I could back them up because my phone was having LED light issues so I got it replaced.So I took it to Verizon and they did a reset and it didn't help so they ordered a new phone for me.After this reset the apps from my SD card automatically "restored" (the phone used this word after it finished) my apps.Now, I have received the new phone and it is not automatically restoring this time.How can I get them to restore? When I go to applications in the settings menu it doesn't show any on the SD card.Also when I go to the market it only shows my purchased apps in the downloads section. Also my phone is NOT rooted.Any help is appreciated

But now when I go into the Market it doesn't show any as installed so it doesn't check for updates. The only ones it shows are the purchased apps or the ones I installed from the Market. I can even download the same apps that are already installed and it will download and overwrite them. Any way to back up free apps so they can be reinstalled AND show up in your Market Downloads?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been messing around with some ROMs on my Droid1, every time I flash a new rom it auto restores my apps. It hasn't done this at all until today. I have tried disabling it in my settings but it still doesn't stop. Also when I go into the downloads page in the market to cancel them, I can some of them but when I try to cancel the others if causes the market to force close. I would like to know if there is anyway to stop google from auto downloading them when I sign in? When I turned off the backup it said it would delete the info from googles servers, but it obviously has not lol because I have tried flashing the rom over again since then. I know most people would like this to happen, but I want a clean install.

I have always been a fan of AppBrain and so i decided to try their Fast Web Installer to install apps based on what was in my previous app list.I like this method because it forces me to actually audit what apps I have on my phone and delete the ones that I no longer use or need.I know my settings aren't maintained but I don't find it too difficult to bring my phone back to standard working order.Just thought i might share my experiences with everyone especially the ones new to root.This forum has been extremely helpful to me in my rooting process so I want to give something back to it

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got my wife an S3 for Mother's day and tonight, sat down to transfer all of her data from her S2. I used the Smart Switch app and along with Contacts, pictures ect. I included her apps. Problem is not all of them switched over. I figured i'd just re-download them again from Google Play Store from the S3, however the apps "appear" to be installed. I've check to see if the missing apps were selected as hidden but there's nothing there. I'm unable to uninstall and reinstall again. Her Gmail app isn't even visible anywhere on the device....have I missed a step in doing the switch from S2 to S3? Should I be signing her out of Google Play on the S2, and how to go about signing out of Google Play Store.

I've had a problem with my apps not automatically restoring when I flash a custom ROM.I'm not using titanium but using Google's service as I log in with mg Google account.Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?The last ROM I tried to flash was Chevy's 4.7 and no apps came through from the market but all of my contacts synced.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHad issues with install of Watermark'D theme over CM6 rom. Finally got all that sorted but had to elect to install Google Apps separately after the fact. I restored backups of all my apps through Titanium Backup except for three - Tweetdeck, Weather Channel, and Yellowbook. Titanium would not restore them - I would click on install, it would try, then come back with an installation failed message. Went to both the market directly and Appbrain and attempted to install them from there. Found them listed but when I clicked on it to install got an item not found message. Tried to install Tweetdeck from the apk and got the same message as with Titanium. Oh and have downloaded other app from market successfully. Any ideas?

Are you using something to backup/restore this stuff?
