View 8 Replies View RelatedI have this Huawei Ascend P1 phone and I used the official huawei app to backup all my data. Now, I flashed this custom rom (4.4.2) and I am now unable to use that app to restore my data. Is there another way to do this? I have the apps files (apks) but there are also some .db files in there that have all the app info.

My question: How do you restore app data from Google servers after a factory reset?
When I upgraded from Gingerbread to ICS, the phone warned me I would be losing all my data. Fortunately under "Settings - Back up and reset" I had checked the "Back up my data" as well as the "Automatic restore" options. When I completed the upgrade to ICS I not only automatically retained all my app data, but I didn't even have to re-download any apps. All my apps I had on Gingerbread, along with all the data, had been successfully and automatically carried over to ICS.
Recently I've been having issues with my home button. After rebooting and some other troubleshooting, I decided to factory reset my phone. Again I made sure the "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore" options were checked. When I completed the factory reset it was like I just powered on my phone for the first time (OBVIOUSLY this is to be expected as I performed a Factory Reset).
Under the "Automatic restore" check box it states "When reinstalling an application, backed up settings and data will be restored". So I began to download and reinstall the apps I had before. The problem is NONE of the apps restored with the data I had backed up to Google servers. Did I do something wrong?
I'm a bit irked because I believe I received the exact same "you're going to lose your data" warning when I upgraded to ICS AND when I performed this recent factory reset. The difference is when I upgraded I got all my stuff back, so I figured after the factory reset, when I reinstalled my apps I'd get the data back too. I think it's only fair if Google really WILL restore data after an upgrade, but NOT restore data after a factory reset they should annotate that in their warning. Also maybe include a statement like, "After performing a factory reset you will not be able to retrieve app data from Google Servers. We recommend installing a third party app to save your important app data." But instead you get the same warning with two different results.
I want to return to factory data, but not doing a simple wipe data..

Following up a guide to install CWM, I bricked my Huawei G610. It is on bootloop now. No Fastboot access too. Any hardware key combination to re-install stock firmware including Recovery?
I recall few phones had a process to put ROM on SDcard and with special hardware key combinations, it used to re-flash fron SDcard.
my Android phone (LG P970). The story is the phone is working as much as I can call and text but the system is not stable. It's freezing a lot and then it's trying to reboot but after every rebooting my phone freeze on LG logo... the only way to run it again is taking out the battery and then system is starting ok but it's loading with all settings and data from few days ago... I have try to flash it with Smartflash tool... whole process whas without any error then phone rebooted automaticly and I find out that after rebooting my p970 sterted with the same old and notstable rom with all the call list and messeges from few days ago.. then I tryed to do the emergency recovery of my phone with LG software. Application asked me to type the model and S/N of my phone so I did that and again the whole process of recovery was ok (with no errors)... Then the phone rebooted on the end which is normal and again started with no effect of recovery.. it was the same ZEUS 7 rom, not stable and with all the data and settings from few days ago... I decided to use Titanium Backup to uninstall all the apps and I was trying to instal ROM MANAGER and run the recovery mode but in the middle of my work the phone freez again and then rebooted and then again freeze on LG logo... I took out the battery and again turned it on and when the system was loaded I find out that all the programs which I have deleted with TITANIUM BACKUP was restored somehow... EVERY time I try to restart in normal mode, reboot in recovery mode or even after flashing system is restarting automaticaly, it freeze on LG logo and the only way to run it again is to take out this battery... then system restoring all data and settings for some reason. maybe some of you know whot software i should use to do the FULL WIPE and get rid of the old borken system?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had some photos in the phone's internal storage, my friend did a factory reset on it, and now all of them are gone. I have tried nearly all available android applications like Undelete, Hexamob and Disk digger etc but no luck. Disk digger only found 3 photos.
The Huawei Ascend P1 has mass storage option and I have all the drivers installed but it doesn't mount. Only If I insert an external SD then it mounts. So recovering files using a PC software isn't working either.
My cousin went over seas and left me his phone ( Samsung Galaxy S II ) but with a password on it so i tried to do a hard reset ( volume button>power button>home button) but when i tried to wipe everything a password comes up and i can't wipe it,

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince updating to Froyo on my Droid X, I've noticed my camera's autofocus won't work at all. I first noticed this because the barcode scanner can't read bar codes anymore because they are too blurry. I want to try a factory wipe to see if that fixes it. I just did a factory wipe 2 weeks ago and it erased all of my applications and settings and was a huge pain to reinstall everything. Is there a way to backup these apps, so I can just automatically re-download them after I do the wipe?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSO I sinstalled the CM 6.0.0 rom to check it out. I downloaded some apps and fiddled with some settings to see if I liked it, but decided to do a wipe before using it "for real". Unfortunately, I can't get it back to a clean install because it insists on restoring all of my previous settings and applications. Even ones I've uninstalled and gotten refunds for, no matter what settings I put in the Privacy section about backing up and restoring.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems a lot of us are having issues after upping to 2.2. Someone suggested hard reset. My question is simple, will hard reset "restore" EVO back to factory settings, AKA 2.1? I mean when you bought the phone, 2.1 is "baked" in the internal memory. When you update to 2.2, will 2.2 also be "baked" in internal memory so that whenever you hard reset you will always go to 2.2 status? I think it is, but please clarify?
