One app which would be very useful would be one that allows me to put the phone in the desk dock and view/answer email or texts on the PC screen. I use to have a Sony Ericsson phone and was able to do this via a program called MyPhoneExplorer.
Does anyone know if this is possible with the Desire? Do any such apps exist?

A text editor that can create/edit text files from the SD card.
i.e. Windows Notepad on the Desire?
My HTC Desire was running well but I've developed a really irritating issue which seems to have started since the Froyo update (O2). Quite often when I send text/sms messages I get the Unable To Send error warning in the top left of the main screen. At first I was hitting the Resend option all the time but it keeps coming back and I noticed that if I check my text messages All Messages box then the message has actually been sent, yet the Unable to Send message persists until I use the Clear option. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

In that i applied font color,font names,font size options for user.But these options will apply for whole text available in edit text. But my problem is i want to apply user selected settings (like font color,size,font) for user selected text instead of Whole text. i want to apply the user selected font/color/size to the user selected text.How?

I'm really keen to get this working. I've tried installing from several locations. I follow all the steps correctly ( i think!), but every time i tap the text box with the htc mod enabled i get this error message.

So I got hand cent today, and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. One tiny problem though, when I receive a text, I still receive it on the stock messaging app and also on hand cent, so I'm getting 2 notifications for the same text and having to read it in the stock messaging app to clear the notification. How do I get rid of that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've found a strange one that seems to affect both mine and my brother's HTC desires. When typing a text or e-mail if I want to put the word "if" in the middle of a sentence it will auto correct to "of". "If" at the beginning of a sentence works fine.
As a result there are a lot of texts and e-mails that go out with bizarre "of"s instead of "if"s.
I've checked the user dictionary for any matching entries and found nothing odd.
Just downloaded the Voice to Text Mod for my Desire "HTC_IME_hi_22b2", Ive got in working with Google Search but does it work on Messages ? and if so how do i enable it to?
View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to get the 'Voice to text' trick working...Voice search working installed the HTC_IME_hi_25.apk and long held to select the input method. I can see the little mic next to the space bar but...when i press the mic key nothing happens! if i hold too long it goes to settings. Have seen on youtube I should get a 'speak' box come up after i press the mic, but nothing. tried uninstall the HTC_IME_hi_25.apk and voice search, but still not working. Have ticked and unticked boxes in the HTC_IME_hi_25.apk setting ... does it matter?

Also when I press and hold the search button for voice, it always takes me to the internet. I can get the navigation software to open by saying navigate to destination. I had the usual hastle of my facebook contacts getting in the way so I removed the facebook sync in account settings (it was a pain when trying to send a text message to multiple people) but for some reason I can still see my sim card contacts when sending a text message and I cannot find any options in settings to only view phone contacts. When I look at the contacts settings I only have phone contact selected. I dont really want to delete the contacts from the sim as there are some numbers that I want to keep on there incase I ever need them again, so if anyone knows another work around that would be great.

My Android Desire is a superb device and will do almost anything I want. Even cleans up around the house and makes coffee and feeds the cat. However, there is one simple thing I cannot get it to do: provide me with a simple text editor like Wordpad so that I can write little texts on the go. I've searched everywhere for this function. I cannot imagine that it is missing from the phone, it's so basic. When I search for "text" I get all sorts of stuff on writing "text" messages, i.e. SMS messages (the term "text" seems to have lost its original meaning and is now used almost exclusively to refer to SMS messages). Where is the Desire equivalent of Wordpad or Notepad or, better, Notepad++?
