Just wandering if it is possible to copy part of the text in incoming SMS, so far I haven't found a solution. The only work around is forward and then, work on the text, any easier way? Also did any body try XPAL-energizer XP2000 battery bank on your Desire?

i'm brand new to this forum (and to android in general)! i just got an HTC Desire through Telus and i absolutely adore it.however i have a very annoying problem.whenever i receive a long text message from a friend (over 130ish characters), the message is broken apart into separate text messages and the messages are not in the order in which they were sent. since i get A LOT of long messages from friends, this is a huge pain in the butt.i don't mind the long message being broken down into smaller messages, my problem is that the small messages arrive in RANDOM order.

I assumed that there would be an easy way to copy the number from my contacts and paste it into a text message. However I couldn't work it out and had to go down the traditional route of writing it on a piece of paper then sending the text! Hardly a good advert for the new 'uberphone' that the desire is billed as! So, is there a way to do it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFiddling around with the new version of the gmail client at lunch time I found something that I've been desperate for in the past! When you're viewing an email, press the Menu hardkey, select More and choose "Select text". Then simply drag your finger over the block of text you want to copy. It's rudimentary but it works. Unfortunately it doesn't work on the quoted text area when you are replying to an email, but hey, it's a definite improvement on going to the webmail client.

Same thing with incoming email on my gmail account.. I could have sworn that the phone would vibrate when I got a text the first couple of days I had it. So in the google voice app I've found you can copy the body of a text message easily by holding down on the message and select copy. But in the HTC messaging app I've not found a way. Am I missing something?

Anywho, one pressing issue I haven't been able to find a solution to is regarding email.
1. How do I copy text from an email? I know if I first reply to an email then I can copy text, but is there a way to do so without having to first hitting the reply button?
2. How do I move emails from one folder to the next?
I'm currently just using the stock email client that came on my Captivate, are there others that are more powerful (not sure you can really call it 'powerful' to be able to copy text and move emails around).
I want to block incoming and outgoing Text (as well as email). I am using the broadcast receiver that is not blocking the text but its blocking the outgoing calls.
Here is the piece of code that blocks the SMS.

I may be missing something obvious, but is there a way to select and copy text from within an email? For example I just got a message sent to my gmail account with a friends new home address, but while I can read the email obviously, scrolling through the message I cant actually select any text within it to copy out his address and then paste it into my contacts.

I loaded a new custom ICS rom on my Samsung Galaxy sIII i747 and noticed that every time I tried to copy text in the Chrome Browser address bar, Chrome would force close. I am posting in general since this fix may work for any ICS running on any device.

Summary:
Fix requires root.
1. boot recovery (CWM) > wipe cache
2. reboot phone > Root Explorer/ES File Browser > delete /data/clipboard/* (everything in this directory)
3. reboot recovery again > advanced > fix permissions
4. reboot phone > Copy/Paste should now word (worked for me)
Looked through the other threads but couldn't find what I needed, sure it's simple though. I don't want to see a review of my incoming text messages without unlocking the phone (for obvious privacy reasons). How do I turn this off?

Perhaps even in folders such as "drafts". My old cheap Nokia could do this. When I now get an incoming message I can only delete it or leave it in the "inbox".

On my TP2 when on a call and a new incoming call comes in I can reject that call with a 'send txt' button and it send the caller a text I pre-created to let them know I am busy. Is it possible to do this on the DINC? 2. There is a free app my TP2 uses to record all calls automatically and it helps me because I cannot not write many times when I am driving or running network in a ceiling so the ability to playback a saved call is huge.
