View 2 RepliesReviewers seem to think it's the best tilt control of all time on android (maybe any phone? ) and it's 3d.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI found a post from a while ago that addresses a similar question but I think it's a bit outdated. I realize implementations of JPA tend to be more on the heavy/dense side, so if you know of any lightweight (non-JPA) ORMs I'll most certainly appreciate your input. I did see the answer about ActiveAndroid in the other post and am curious to know if anyone tried it out.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just picked up a Droid today, and I just seen, above the 4 touch buttons when they are lit up, if you tilt the phone down you can see light leaking up to the edge of the screen. Does anyone else have this problem or should I return my device?
View 36 Replies View RelatedI feel like this is such a stupid question but I can't find the answer anywhere else. How do I go about backing up my contacts prior to installing, e.g., the new ROM upgrade on the Hero? Presumably I would need to get the data actually off the phone on to my computer but I can't figure out how to, and I have too many contacts to save them all individually to my SIM card. I have been having major problems with HTC Sync (as long as it's installed on my computer it seems to knock out my wireless internet connection intermittently, which makes no sense, but I've uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times and it's definitely HTC Sync doing it) so if there's a method that doesn't involve HTC Sync?

I am a life long (so far but not for long!) WinMo user because up until now (2.2 release of Froyo) I have always assumed Android wasn't as elegant, capable, and smooth as Windows (YES, I WAS WRONG).So now that I'm ready to make the switch... does Android offer any service, through my Google log-in perhaps, to back up all my contacts to the cloud (with pictures and files as well, or is the data limited) I am with Verizon and have had this sluggish Touch Pro 2 for far too long, and have an annual upgrade I'm either going to put to use on with the Droid 2, or the X!

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith 2 million ipads sold, I don't understand VZW's rationale for not offering some kind of wifi hotspot app that you'd pay $30/month for on a month by month basis. It seems like it would be such an easy money maker.
View 18 Replies View RelatedSwype is really great, BUT: Sometimes I need to write in a language other than English. I found this nearly impossible with swype. It keeps trying to force English words on me. There should be an easy way to prevent swype to offer English (or any) words altogether. I want to be able to use Swype so it takes whatever word I swyped (swope?) in. There should be an easily accessible toggle control to allow this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI pre ordered the Incredible through Best Buy the other day.I asked them about Verizon's online discount of $100 and another $100 off with new every two discount. The sales rep did not know about the deal but said they would price match whatever Verizon had on their site.I'm hoping they will match it, the guy seemed really nice.Anyone else run into this?
View 15 Replies View RelatedSomehow I've screwed up my Eclipse installation. Used to be if I added a new instance of an Android object (say a TextView) and I right clicked on the error, it would offer to add the import. Also if I had an Android object and typed it followed by a period, it would show me all the allowed functions. Now it doesn't do either, just shows me java info. Don't know what I did, since this used to work. I updated everything, but still no joy.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have to say that an user profile is a must have feature in an education. So no devices under android 4.2 aren't possible, because there must be an option to use "student profile" in a device to prevent any installation from an user.
1) If i have several devices (like 50 Android devices, Android 4.2 or later), what is the easiest way to manage them all at the same time?
- wifi?
- sync application for this?
- administration profile?
2) Do I have to make an account for each devices in GooglePlay or can I add them all under one account? How can i buy and install apps for each devices?
3) And does the Allshare offer sharing a screen with several devices?
How to manage several devices easiest wat - administration, installing/deleting apps, emptying devices (for example photos/videos...)...Or is it just better to choose iPad with a sync case? Im more interested in Android tablets because they offer much more for less money (example Galaxy Note serie). But I have no idea how to manage them all at the same time.
I have use case whereas client wants me to lock an application. Could any of the APIs for the Device Lock screen be re-purposed to lock the application in the same manner? Or would I have to come up with some new code?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to lock the phone through my application .I'm using following code PowerManager pm = (PowerManager)context.getSystemService(Context.POWER_SERVICE); pm.goToSleep(160000); I've added following permission to AndroiManifest.xml file <uses-permission android:name=" android. permission.DEVICE_POWER"/> But the application crashes by throwing following exception *E/AndroidRuntime( 436): Caused by: java.lang.SecurityException: Neither user 10032 nor current process has android.permission.DEVICE_POWER.* to avoid the above mentioned exception or tell me some other way to lock the screen
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've searched these forums and was un succecfull in finding the answere I needed. So my need is a lock screen replacement application that requires you to type in a password (numerical or letters) doesn't matter. I just hate the swipe to unlock and the tap home to unlock on the Samsung Moment. I don't care about looks so much I just want a functioning app to do what I ask.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had a scare today where I left my phone at the gym and thought I had lost it. Whats a good app to locate the phone remotely? (preferably works with GPS AND cell tower location, because I don't have GPS on most of the time.) It would be nice to be able to remotely lock it as well... looks like there are some options available but I'm not sure which one works. The thing with the app store is that you can't sort by reviews, its hard to tell which app is good and which one doesn't work
View 14 Replies View RelatedIs there an app/widget out there that will allow my to instantly manually lock my phone? I know I can change the security settings in Froyo to where it locks when the display is off, meaning I could use the power button on my Droid X, but I don't want it to lock every time the screen dims. In other words I want:
a) phone locks on a timed basis (say, 10, 15, 20 minutes of inactivity)
b) phone locks when I tell it to via app/widget
I tried searching for such an app/widget but most of what I found was just enhancements for the lock screen or replacements that didn't address this problem.
We are writing our own application to substitute G1 standard screen lock (where you have to draw a pattern between the dots on the screen). Unfortunately, I have been unable to find documents on how to hook our application in, so that it would be called instead of the standard G1 screen lock. Is there a broadcast sent when the standard lock is activated?
View 9 Replies View RelatedRemember there used to be interesting one, with 9 dots, draw to unlock screen. Is that still available or there is some better choice?
