View 3 RepliesI am trying to find a News Reader and find that most of them seem to rely on feeds from Google Reader and seem not to recognise UK based feeds (or at least I cannot find the same feeds that I used on my iPhone).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI feel like this is such a stupid question but I can't find the answer anywhere else. How do I go about backing up my contacts prior to installing, e.g., the new ROM upgrade on the Hero? Presumably I would need to get the data actually off the phone on to my computer but I can't figure out how to, and I have too many contacts to save them all individually to my SIM card. I have been having major problems with HTC Sync (as long as it's installed on my computer it seems to knock out my wireless internet connection intermittently, which makes no sense, but I've uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times and it's definitely HTC Sync doing it) so if there's a method that doesn't involve HTC Sync?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI found a post from a while ago that addresses a similar question but I think it's a bit outdated. I realize implementations of JPA tend to be more on the heavy/dense side, so if you know of any lightweight (non-JPA) ORMs I'll most certainly appreciate your input. I did see the answer about ActiveAndroid in the other post and am curious to know if anyone tried it out.

You know when you disable usb debugging and then pluging usb cable and mount, Pc shows internal sd, external sd also a cdrom image. I know we can change internal external mounts but is there a way to change cdrom image? I've a ultrabook which hasn't got a optical drive, but it can mount sd cards also the cdrom image when I plugged my phone. I want to use my phone as a cdrom.
Think about an app which selects iso files and then when you plug you phone via usb, pc saw phone's sd cards and also that chosen iso file as a cdrom.
I recently got the HTC One X and am toying around with the NFC reader. As far as I've seen there is no app that can turn your phone into an external NFC reader for a PC.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got a question: Is it possible to turn the sd card reader in an android device from SDIO to SPI?
It would be great because it would be possible to read sd card whose SDIO interface is broken when the SPI Interface is still intact. It would be slow but you can get your Data back when the SPI interface is still working.
I recently bought my first Android phone and have a problem with the stock email app. Emails are displayed so that words are broken between lines like the example below:

know of a business card reader that will import directly into Moxier Contacts? I've tried out a few and while most will read into the phone contacts list just fine, I want it to dump into Moxier and everyone I've tried so far won't do that.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI read epub on both my phone and tablet (htc sensation, soon replace by S3, and my asus TFP). It's pretty hard to find a good app for reading epub.I want to sync all my book, bookmarks, notes between my devide.I've tried:
moon reader (lot of lag when turning pages, and don't like to use dropbox, i don't have an account)
aldiko (no turning pages effect, no sync)
kobo (needs a account)
fbreader (no shelf, no syncing)
mantano (no turning pages effect, no sync)
google books (not available in France, can't import epub file)
go books (no sync)
Mantano had a service for syncing but It's really lame to having me paid just for that. So, at the end, I'm looking for an app with:
shelf
turning pages effect (optionnal)
free syncing
Smooth (lag driving me crazy)

I am having a problem getting my galaxy tab 10.1 to recognize a usb flash drive I have connected via an adapter. I know it works because it detected a wireless mouse I connected to it, and it shows up when I use dmesg or lsusb in the terminal. The thing is that none of the file explorers I've used (Es, Astro) are able to detect the files I have on it. The usb drive is formatted to fat32; would it be more likely to detect it if I formatted it to ext3 or ext4?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a PRS t1 book reader and then discovered it was a hackable Android device URL...I like to be outdoors in the summertime, and the daylight readable screen is great. Which got me to thinking it would be great to use it for work, edit documents etc..Is this at all feasible:
1) Run VNC client on my PRS t1 (is it up to it?)
2) Run VNC server on my android phone, pair the _phone_ with a full size Bluetooth keyboard.
2) Connect the Phone > PRS T1 via WiFi
3) Use full-size keyboard to enter text in the sunshine..
I successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy Blaze phone, installed Titanium BackUp and now would like to send my app data to my nice 16GB SDHC card. The problem is, I can't get it partitioned probably because my laptop's card reader can't really read SDHC cards, even in adapters. It recognizes that the card is there, but then wants to format it and won't format it. I tried using the Mini Tools Partition Wizard, but each attempt failed, claiming I had a bad card. The card works beautifully in the phone, so I don't think that's the problem, especially since brand new cards get the same reaction.
Is there a way to partition the card from my phone? I have good reason to believe that my memory problems have a lot to do with the boatload of email I have saved in GMail, or the fact that Google+ somehow decided I really needed *all* of my photos on my phone, via Picasa (another source of angst and muttering).
How about the best e reader app? Had freda on my omnia and it handled everything i threw at it; html, text, epub. Any that handle all three? Figured on using adobe for pdf's (is there foxit for android? admit i haven't thought to check yet) Seems like there are lots of choices but i'm interested in what the community uses/thinks is the best.

I have Newsroom on my Palm Pre, but was told I would need to purchase it again for Android.
Any good ones out there? No preference free/pay, my main preference is that it is a good program.
I use Newsroom but would be interested in one that directly sinks with Google Reader. What do you guys use?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAre there any good pdf readers that save where you are up to in a pdf document so that you don't have to try and find the page you are up to every time you open the document. That is the one feature that the standard one is missing (unless I am just not seeing it)
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf there is a useful pdf reader. i've tried one - it's great - it opens pdf's but is useless for reading as u have to scroll right and left. I would imagine that 99% of the time the pdf reader is useless! is there a pdf reader that forces all of the content to fit your screen width - similar to how they do on browsers.
