I am fairly new to Android. I have recently purchased an HTC Evo on Sprint about a week ago. I love the OS, but it seems to lack a Klingon language pack. Does anyone know where I can find one? I've been trying to brush up on my foreign language.While I am asking, does android support Vulcan as well? If not, when should the language pack become available?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend recently bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Android phone. For the most part, she loves it.
Except that Sony Ericsson has changed the emoticons in the chat application.
On my phone, an HTC-03A (aka HTC Magic), the emoticons look like little aliens. (Yes, I know they are supposed to be robots, like the Android logo, but my girlfriend thinks of them as "aliens" because they have antennae and are green).
On her phone, the Xperia, they changed the icons to use regular rounded yellow happy faces and so on.
She is miffed. She likes the aliens, and considers the phone somewhat "broken" without them.
So... suddenly it's a task in my life to see if I can change the Sony Ericsson emoticons to Android "alien" icons.
I had hoped it was a matter of simply changing some image files... however, from what I see on the web, it looks like I need to:
Gain access to a file on the phone called framework-res.apk
Copy that file to a computer.
Edit the file to put in the right icons.
Put it back on the phone
I am unclear on how exactly to do these steps. The discussions I've seen were among people who seemed to have a better understanding than me, and did not explain some aspects. For example, they took it for granted that the necessary files were accessible, however I can't see where framework-res.apk is.
I have not "rooted" an Android phone before, and I'm hoping I don't have to go to truly deep levels of phone software configuration that carries the risk of destabilizing either her phone or mine.
I'm assuming I can get the correct "alien" icons off of my phone to put on hers. (I notice they have those very same icons on this forum... is there a place I can download them as a set?)
Does anyone know if its possible to remove the green droid alien that pops up when I make and receive calls on my HTC Desire?

Scala, Clojure and Groovy all require its own runtime library distributed with the application, so they are out of the scope of this question.The only one language which claims to satisfy this goal is Charles Nutter's Mirah, but I couldn't make it to work on windows.To clarify a bit, I know any language has to have runtime library. Obviously, what I am looking for is a language that has no additional runtime required besides JRE, or at least very limited one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are a number of different icon packs in the Market which i like or have been using however none seem to contain anywhere near the right amount of icons which i need.Now, flame me if you will but i really like the iphoney style icons ie the ones in a square shape which are very colorful.Ive downloaded a number off of the market but to date all i have been happy with is tenuis icon pack, matte icons and serenade icons pack.These dont contain exactly what i want though and have too much of what i dont want.I see alot of people get icons off of there desktop somehow.How do i do this?I have never plugged my desire into my computer so am a complete newbie to doing things that way.I really want some decent icons that can really show what my apps are without text and id like too browse through some online but i dont know where to start.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have tried searching and waiting to see if anyone else is having this problem but apparently i am the only one. no matter what i do i can't get any of the font packs to work in open home. i have tried all the free ones on the market. when i go to menu>more>text font & color>edit text (doesnt matter which) i get a force close. does anyone have a fix for this or can tell me what i am doing wrong? those are the instructions in the app but maybe i am missing something.

Im refering to basic app icons like those used for alarm, clock, internet, calendar, music, etc. I also need the samsung specific app icons in PNG format. I've gone through playstore and copied the PNGs for their app Icons. I have icons, custom icon pack, updater script, but i don't know how can i add more icons. I bought an HTC Magic today and, as I always did with other phones too, set the language to english. The problem is I happen to write a lot of messages (email and SMS) in italian too.Is there a way to set the completion language separately from the GUI language? Even better if during the editing of a message would be possible to switch the language, as possible with Nokia phones.Please note that in the subject I mentioned erroneusly T9 which has nothing to do with completion, as I now learned.

Ok that means i dont care about the language my apps will be displayed in as long as it is english "which should be in every rom.."
But i do care about the region they are set in... means when i start MIUI News/Weather (geniewidget.apk) I want to see News from Germany and temperature in Celsius..
When I play "who-becomes-rich" I want Euro for currency! and so on ...
Is there any way to set the region like that ? (build.prop or anything else..?)
