Does anyone know where I can find one? I've been trying to brush up on my foreign language. While I am asking, does android support Vulcan as well? If not, when should the language pack become available?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend recently bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Android phone. For the most part, she loves it.
Except that Sony Ericsson has changed the emoticons in the chat application.
On my phone, an HTC-03A (aka HTC Magic), the emoticons look like little aliens. (Yes, I know they are supposed to be robots, like the Android logo, but my girlfriend thinks of them as "aliens" because they have antennae and are green).
On her phone, the Xperia, they changed the icons to use regular rounded yellow happy faces and so on.
She is miffed. She likes the aliens, and considers the phone somewhat "broken" without them.
So... suddenly it's a task in my life to see if I can change the Sony Ericsson emoticons to Android "alien" icons.
I had hoped it was a matter of simply changing some image files... however, from what I see on the web, it looks like I need to:
Gain access to a file on the phone called framework-res.apk
Copy that file to a computer.
Edit the file to put in the right icons.
Put it back on the phone
I am unclear on how exactly to do these steps. The discussions I've seen were among people who seemed to have a better understanding than me, and did not explain some aspects. For example, they took it for granted that the necessary files were accessible, however I can't see where framework-res.apk is.
I have not "rooted" an Android phone before, and I'm hoping I don't have to go to truly deep levels of phone software configuration that carries the risk of destabilizing either her phone or mine.
I'm assuming I can get the correct "alien" icons off of my phone to put on hers. (I notice they have those very same icons on this forum... is there a place I can download them as a set?)
Does anyone know how to get rid of the green Android logo when you receive a phone call AND you dont have the callers photo saved. I can think of much nicer things to see than the logo, nothing personal but you know what I mean

I get the following message, This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults. You do that in settings, under privacy. Is there anyway to do it without resetting the phone? I dont want to reset it as i the phone is rooted, has custom ROM with over 100 apps.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using satnav at the weekend; the battery level indicator on my Desire went from green to orange (20%) and the existent data connection dropped off straightaway. I was unable to re-establish a data connection even after switching the phone off and on again. I was in an area of reasonable/good network signal strength. The GPS continued to function however so I could still see my progress on the map but a data connection message appeared.
When I got home the phone continued to function on WiFi (with GPS on too) for nearly another two hours before it turned itself off, so there was plenty of "juice" left. My question is as to whether there is anything I can adjust to ensure that the battery continues to function fully (ie maintain a data connection) until it runs out? Or whether at 20% the phone is somehow set up to end a data connection? I have now got myself an HTC car charger to make sure the battery will not drop that low again when I am using satnav.
When creating a text message by voice, the entire message is green, and I can find no way to edit it - which is a shame. Are they editable?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHave just got my HTC Desire. I switched the phone on for the first time and it's stuck on a screen with a green icon on. The icon is a down arrow with two arrows going around in a circle. What am I supposed to do here? I've pressed on the screen and held for a few seconds, pressed and held each of the buttons and no response. Not even the power button works.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOver the last few days the battery indicator LED stays orange instead of turning green when the phone is on charge but has fully charged.
The phone is switched off and left on charge over night, for the last 4 months since Ive had the phone when I get up in the morning the battery indicator LED has turned green to show that the battery is fully charged, as it should do. Its just since the weekend it now stays orange. The battery is charging as well as before, and when I switch it on in the morning its at 100%, so why is it staying orange when its fully charged?I was wondering if anyone has come accross this problem before and has any idea where the fault would lie. I dont personally know what exactly would be causing the handset to not detect the battery is fully charged? Also if the phone isnt detecting that the battery is fully charged could it cause any problems if it carrys on charging instead of cutting off the charger after its fully charged?Apart from this the phone is working perfectly and my battery life is pretty good for a Desire from what ive read online.
the "messages" icon on the home screen is a sort of envelope speech bubble looking yoke when there are new sms text messages you get a small green circle over this icon with the number of unread messages in it. how do you clear this?
I hit the icon and get a screen of my text messages none are highlighted in bold to say what's unread AND even after opening them all and going back to the home screen the damn green circle is still there. after a while it goes again?any ideas?
Anyone else have a small green dot sticker on the box the phone came in? I'd like to know what it means. I know on the blackberry tour when they had trackball problems when they fixed it they put a green dot sticker on it so that makes me think something has been corrected about the phone

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering how I could turn off the blinking green light on my phone every time I get a text. If I don't clear my notifications of the new text(s) right away, the blinking light kills my battery. I do want to keep the notification on my drop down bar, I just want the blinking light to stop. Is there anyway to do this? I know I can take off the blinking light and drop down bar notification, but I don't want both gone, only the blinking light.
