Android :: Actual Galaxy Tab Displays Different Than Emulator - 5x5 Widgets?

I created a Galaxy Tab emulator using these instructions: http://innovator.samsungmobile.com/galaxyTab.do
When I install my 4x2 widget on the emulator it displays like it does on a phone (full width, half the height). However I went to try it out on an actual device in Best Buy and there it displayed as if there is room for a 5th row and column. First of all, why is there this discrepancy? Second, how would I create a 5x5 widget?

I am developing an application which I need to test in Samsung I9000 whose resolution is 480*800. But when I try to create a AVD Emulator with 480*800 resolution, I am getting a very big resolution. How to get the screen resolution of Emulator similar to Device.

I am working on a compute intensive app for Android. I do not have any device yet to test performance. However, the performance on emulator is a bit slower than expected. I see an old question about some estimation of emulator vs device. What are your experiences while developing apps with recent SDK Froyo/2.2. Is performance observed on emulator is slower than actual device. Please share your experience and the specs of your dev machine and mobile devices, both.

I have a problem drawing a background for my OpenGL app on the emulator. It all works well on an actual G1, but i'm worried that if the emulator has a problem, other android phones may have the same problem. On an actual G1 the background is drawn on the background. All other drawing is drawn in front of it. On the emulator, the background is always drawn on the foreground, obsuring any other drawing. I tried in many ways to check Internet connection in my android emulator

Even if i disable Internet connection in my system ,my code seems to display Connected state
so i guessed this may work

I have a layout with a TextView and a List, and in onCreate() I have the TextView request focus. On the G1 and emulator the screen comes up with the TextView having focus, and the on-screen keyboard will display when you tap on the TextView, but on the Galaxy apparently the on-screen keyboard is always displayed. Does anyone know why this would be so? And why would a phone without a keyboard act differently from a phone with a keyboard that's hidden--shouldn't they follow the same logic?

I have replaced the LCD so it is NOT a hardware issue.
I can't wipe the phone since I cannot access the command menu (or whatever it is called when you hold down the home, volume up and power buttons.)
It was working perfectly on night. I turned it off and the next day when I turned it on this was shown. It was not dropped and there is no water damage.
Samsung screwed me over. I sent the phone to them and when they said it was not under warranty I agreed to pay the price and sent the mail back.
I then received my phone a week later saying I had not accepted the repair price.

why you can't add widgets on the lock screen if you use any other security option besides "swipe". I see it in settings but once you lock the screen you can't view any widgets. I like having my camera on my lock screen

I just recently purchased a Galaxy Note 2 and have to say I absolutely love it! As I'm in the process of customizing it one thing I noticed is that there are no toggle widgets for independently turning on or off 3G or 4G as needed. I came from an HTC EVO 4G that had those widgets built into the Sense interface which worked great so that when I was traveling I could use 3G only if I was in that area or switch off 3G and goto 4G (WiMax), or switch off both when I was at home with an Airave.
I've looked throughout the Note 2 running android 4.1.1 and am unable to find any such widgets. I did download Power Widgets and Widgetoid but both seem inadequate by not effectively turning the radio on or off. Rather they take me to the screen to turn off the radio inside the android settings.
any good widgets that will turn the radios on/off with the simple press of the icon?

So since I've been using the new jelly bean OS 4.2 I've noticed how the wonderful widgets automatically move as you attempt to place 1 but I've also noticed that the widgets take up more space in the need some times. Try placing the analog clock on 1 of your screens and then place icons around it, you will see that if you could overlap widgets or overlap widgets and icons you could use your screen real estate more efficiently.

The getPreSharedKey() method returns only "*" if key is present and null if the key is absent.I need the actual the pre shared key.
