Android :: Create AVD That Represent Samsung Galaxy S In Eclipse Emulator?
Jul 22, 2010I am working on an application specifically for Samsung Galaxy S(I am not the one making decision here) and they want its layout to be pixel-precise accurate.
Can I just use normal 2.1 AVD?
So I tried creating WQVGA432 but it looks like this. I'm not sure why the LinearLayout does not fill up the screen but only use up to the large images with Korean (which I can't scale down, but that's different question). code...

I set up a W800/854 2.2 AVD but it work.. but on the samsung phone it was a crash..
Samsung Galaxy S :: Cannot Create Alarm / Way To Do
Oct 24, 2010I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue.
The problem is that I cannot create an alarm. There simply isn't any option to do so when pressing the edit key.
For the last week I've had my phone in 'flight mode' and since switching this off I've found the option to create a new alarm is gone. All my previous alarms are still there and the option to delete them is there via the edit key.
Any ideas, or am I having a brain fart and simply missed the obvious?

Aug 25, 2010Had my Samsung Galaxy S this week and love it......my mates in work have iPhones and they say they can create folders on thier pages, name them accordinaly (music, pictures, apps etc.....) and then place the corresponding data, media etc..... in them, so they are all placed in specific folders.. Is this avaiable to do on the Galaxy S? Is there a app out there for it?

Jun 23, 2010Getting used to the phone now.I'm not able to connect USB mount to my Mac or Windows 7 in virtual mode. Tried searching for information on this but didn't find anything.There seems to be some lag when transitioning from one app to another app or within the market app.Also when I download something from the market, the phone gets a lot slower.I'm sure Froyo will fix all of this.What is Samsung Kies? I'm in the US and can't access it.If there is anyway to get it,I will try it.AT&T 3G is working fine so far.However, the bars I get while indoors drop to only 2 and I have had 2 dropped calls already.Not Galaxy S fault, just plain old AT&T.Connected bluetooth to my car and got some disturbances.I need to try this a few more times before I call it an issue.Everything else works perfect.I don't know why everybody hates Touchwiz, I think it is better than Sense and close to stock 2.1 in performance.

Jun 27, 2012Im here because of my problem with SGA 2.Few days ago I bought ACE 2 and I found few problems with "external_sd".So the problems are
1. When I try to create folder it gives me error "Creation failed"
2. When trying to move folder from internal memory to external sd it gives me error like "Moving failed", while copying goes fine.
3. I can move/copy any file to sd card, but sometimes those files got corrupted, gives me error about memory when trying to open pictures, same problem when saved camera saved photo to sd card. Even getting error when trying to play video.
APK files got corrupted too.
4. When I have moved apps to sd card some while apps work great, but after some time cant launch apps because it gives me error about that app doesnt exist.
I tried formatting sd card with pc and android.
Factory reset.
Repartition to same firmware with Odin.
Wipe cache, wipe data.
I dunno what causes those error, bugs, glitches. Is it phone or android sytem?
Tried many sd card and always got same errors. But when I mounted mine sd card to another phone it worked perfect.

I do not own the phone or can't get it from anywhere else. So I want to create and establish ad hoc network in that emulator only. I am using standard ADK 2.2. I read somewhere that the information and settings of networks are read through a file called tiwlan.ini. Is this file available even for emulator? If it is, where is it located inside it? If its not, can i copy the file available on Internet and put it somewhere inside my emulator and change system path to read network information to that file's path? If even that is not possible, is there any solution available by which I can establish ad hoc network on emulator?

Jan 31, 2009I've been trying to create a local connection to a computer with a Socket from the emulator thinking that it would automagically uses a emulated wifi connection. It doesn't work, in particular because wifi is not supported on the emulator:
- Does a Socket connection automatically choose the fastest connection (the wifi one if it exists).
- Why wifi not supported by the emulator? Will it be?
For those in countries still not blessed by the grace of having the possibility to buy a Gphone, that can be useful...

However I went to try it out on an actual device in Best Buy and there it displayed as if there is room for a 5th row and column. First of all, why is there this discrepancy? Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
