My project work on HTC Legend, but its crashes on that device. How i can set up a samsung galaxy s on android/eclipse?
I set up a W800/854 2.2 AVD but it work.. but on the samsung phone it was a crash..

I imported the android libraries, but I can't get it to work... My project only contains one java file where I use an android class, I only want to start it as a simple java app.
The error I get is: "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException: Stub!"
My question is: How can I create a simple java project (in eclipse) which uses android classes?
I am working on an application specifically for Samsung Galaxy S(I am not the one making decision here) and they want its layout to be pixel-precise accurate.
Can I just use normal 2.1 AVD?
So I tried creating WQVGA432 but it looks like this. I'm not sure why the LinearLayout does not fill up the screen but only use up to the large images with Korean (which I can't scale down, but that's different question). code...
Ive found a SNES emulator for my galaxy S on the app store and wondered, how I go about using it.
It says I download the emulator to my phone then just go ahead and download the games onto my phone.
But how do I get them working and where do I add them too?
Just got Samsung Galaxy S II and I'm trying to open a file in terminal emulator for android. The file is named 'setup.sh'. When I type 'sh setup.sh' in terminal, it writes back 'Can't open setup.sh' The file is saved on the phone. How to open it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSomethings I'll have an? .xml file selected when I compile a project, only to have a? .out.xml generated. Deleting the file doesn't clear the error, and Eclipse won't compile the project. It just reports that your project contains errors. The solution is to go to Project/Clean. This will clear the error in the project and allow it to compile.

But there's still an issue: I are trying to have an Android class call a non Android Hello World class. I tried compiling our non-Android Hello World class in a separate Eclipse workspace. I then packaged it into a jar. I imported that jar into our Android Hello World class.
I then called one of the methods in the non-Android Hello World class. When I ran the Android Hello World class as an Android application, the following runtime error occurred. Here are the Android debug logs:

I have 2 android projects out of which I modified one to work as a library. I want the main project to refer to this library to perform few functions. While this scenario works just as expected, I want to introduce one more functionality. I want to link this library project with another just a java project which has code common to both Android and Blackberry applications. This second part however doesn't seem to work and throws "The application <appname> (<package name>) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" with a ForceClose button. I would greatly appreciate if someone can give a brief information on how to make this work.

The project is made of 2 executables and 1 common assembly. The 2 executables contain the application specific logic while the common contains centralized forms and logic (such as login form). View 9 Replies View RelatedI followed the instructions here on how to create an Android library project, and use it in an Android application:

But it is not working. I can see the library project is added to my application but I cannot reference anything in it because it won't build. The R.java file from the lib is NOT being added to my application project, so the lib project contains tons of errors, everywhere it tries to reference it's own R.java file.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but in the console there are messages stating that the there is "No resource identifier found for attribute 'X' in package 'Lib Package'. My library package has a a few styleable attributes defined for a custom view I made, all of which are being complained about in this console message. The library builds just fine, and I don't get those messages in the console until I hook the library to my application, so I don't know what's up with this.
When I right click the project in the eclipse, select "Properties". In the property page, select Android. According to the document, you can add the library project through that page. But my problem is that, there is no library information on the page. It only lists "project build target"

When I install my 4x2 widget on the emulator it displays like it does on a phone (full width, half the height). However I went to try it out on an actual device in Best Buy and there it displayed as if there is room for a 5th row and column. First of all, why is there this discrepancy? Second, how would I create a 5x5 widget?
I have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
I have an app the runs fine on my emulator and my incredible with android 2.2. Users say my app won't run on the galaxy s. What options exist to troubleshooting this? Is there a special agreement for galaxy?

I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted.How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number?In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown.When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently picked up a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (Android 2.1) on Rogers Wireless. I've been having an issue with the wifi on it, it only works intermittently when I'm at home. It will connect to my network without issues, but none of the data-enabled apps can access anything, they just time out. While this is happening my old iPhone (recent android convert) and my Nintendo Wii are able to connect flawlessly. This ONLY happens when I'm at home on my own network from what I've seen, when I'm on the wifi at my work everything works fine. Has anyone seen issues like this or have any suggestions as to what may be causing it? FYI I have tried different wifi channels, currently my router is setup to use TKIP on WPA2 for encryption.

However I quickly discovered it wasn't when my Orange Sim worked in it and no T mobile apps or logos appeared on my phone. I already have a Samsung Glaxaxy from Orange so instantly knew that my new phone from ebay was not up to date.As you can see one of my phones is running the latest firmware but the other one isn't AND also says it cannot be updated. What is going on? Has the seller messed with my phone or something?I am not interested in getting Froyo on either of my phones. I will get that when it is officially released. All I want is the ebay phone to be able to be updated. I have tried everything suggested on this forum including changing the product code. I tried to change it on the phone, no product codes were listed as a choice, I also changed the registry but nothing works. Have I got a dud phone because surely my T Mobile phone (which somehow allows an orange sim to work) can get JM3 update by now?
