rooted to drakaz's galaxo 18.104.22.168 , i noticed that everything is working as it should. but there is no safely remove icon in win 7 32 bit, in USB debugging mode, which earlier used to be in cupcake
another question, though not related to rooting ..i use EDGE GPRS and through dial up i can connect to internet using phone as modem in debugging mode. i see that there are some new app like wireless tether .. can i make windows to connect without USB ?
I've entered a wrong pattern too many times. The phone now asks for my gmail username and password. I tried to enter them, but it doesn't accept the credentials. They are certainly valid, I know because I logged in via web browser with the same name/pass and it works.
I'm about to buy a Galaxy. But here it's exclusive to TMN (cell operator) I use Vodafone. So i'm obviously about to unlock my Galaxy the same day i buy it. I have an Omnia ( I900 ) at this moment and it's unlocking was very easy. Go to dialer, enter a code that would open a service menu. Chose SIM LOCK and disable it. Soft reboot and voila... Anyway i learned it too late so i have an X-SIM that allows me to use my phone with any sim card. My question is, did anyone unlocked a Galaxy?
If my screen locks while I have a wifi connection, then the connection is lost when I unlock the phone.First, is this perhaps deliberate, to save power? Also, either way, when I unlock the screen and go into wifi settings, I see that the phone is trying to make a wifi connection, but it never succeeds, even though it's my home network and I'm in the same room as the router. It just states 'Obtaining address.
I am having problem with the screen unlock button. Whenevr I press the unlock button - it takes me to the shutdown/silence screen. I tried calling from some other phone, so the screen got unlocked but the keeyboard keeps on poping up. Tried factory rest but of no use.
So, I have been successfully moving bloatware and other apps I don't use - from Verizon apps to Samsung Widgets. I use LauncherPro exclusively and according to this site, TouchWiz30Launcher.apk/odex can be removed safely, but he also mentions not to move Launcher.apk, which I don't see in my system folder. When I move it, the phone is operational, but keep getting a force close error for TouchWiz30Launcher.apk/odex. By moving it back with Root Explorer, it corrects the error immediately.I guess what I am asking is...is it possible to disable the 17MB file of TouchWiz if I am not using it, and if so, how.
The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?
I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.
Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone? Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.
there I am new to this. I would like to find out some information in regards to and update for the samsung galaxy I7500.I live in Australia and it seems the phone cant be updated. Is this true. I have tried on many times to plug my phone into my computer via pc studio.
Does GAOSP Froyo support live wallpapers for i7500? If yes, can you recommend some that seem to run fine without (major) slowdown? I would suspect that the CPU is too slow to run most live wallpapers, but there might be some neat ones that are good to go?
Sorry if this thread seems inconsequential but I have been rendering myselves sleepless nights over the past couple of days ( and nights ) due to my inability to choose between the above two said android phones. I like the i5700 for its zippy 800 MHz processor and that its got the 2.1 update. I like the i7500 for its 5 MP camera and flash + a larger screen to play with I would have gone in for the i7500 but have been hearing about Samsung deciding against not updating it to version 2.1 which can off course be done taking the un-official channel. Moreover the 528 Mhz processor is certainly lagging.
But still I see people in here Going after the i7500 .... Adding to it there is more threads and discussions going around on the i7500 as compared to the i5700. Am I missing something in the i7500 or is it just that i am a stupid newbie ... I have gone through many many pages of information on this thread before posting this query.
I've been noticing while looking at other i7500 reviews that my keyboard layout is completely different than all the other i7500, whether in landscape or portrait mode I don't have the caps lock key, instead i have a T9 and the printed orange colour keys is what I hate most Pls look at this pix, and tell me what can be wrong with this keyboard. In my settings these are the steps: Settings>Locale & text >Samsung keyboard, that's all I have, no other Keyboard available, am I missing something or what?
Followed following URL Update Samsung Galaxy I7500 to Android 1.6 Donut Firmware In hand "Odin Multi Downloader v3.95" and "i7500_XXJB6.tar" Please guide me step by step i want to upgrade my i7500 firmware b/c it do not have android market.
I would like to know the same thing. Here is a list of my apps. I dont know what most of them are. Some I use, some I think I use, others I have no clue. I only have 29mb of internal storage. I have tried everything to use a2sd on my phone. Nothing seems to work. So, I need to thin out my rom and get a little more streamlined.
I have htc evo 3d gsm v4.0.3 with hboot 1.53.0007 and i want root my phone , i never know how to root , i try to check some links on web reffering the methods to root, i see my people bricked their phones and there was no simple and easy to the root my phone.
i think my gt-i7500 is bricked. i downloaded the 1.6 firmware(.tar) along with ODIN.. set up the downloading mode and used ODIN to flash it to 1.6. ODIN showed PASS in the window but the phone refuses to boot up. It remains frozen with the SAMSUNG sign. Recovery mode is not working either.
My app targets 1.5, and runs fine on my phone (1.6), but to support droid, I need the package android.telephony.cdma from 2.0. Targeting 2.0 excludes the current devices running my app (including my own G1), but as it is now, I can't support the Droid.
