While taking apart my Galaxy I broke the copper ribbon to the lock button and now I cannot unlock the phone! Is there a hack or other way to unlock this phone? It currently has Galaxo 1.6.3.3
I can probably boot into recovery and flash any zip but currently I cannot get to the home screen as it is locked so Lock 2.0 or other Market app is not a solution.

After the last firmware update the sound was pretty low,so i wanted to increase the volume... tried the volume hack but it did not increase the headphone volume,only the handset volume..... this is kinda a hardware fix...

Then pres menu key, key input,and type in 5fff , this increases the gain to about 4db,wich is in my opinion the best option. after u inputed the value pres menu key and select end. no restart needed,just open music player and press play and you will see the differences. I was about to sell my i7500 because of lack of headphone volume but now im happy...i think this will work with i5700 and moment,haven;t tried it though!
I am having problem with the screen unlock button. Whenevr I press the unlock button - it takes me to the shutdown/silence screen. I tried calling from some other phone, so the screen got unlocked but the keeyboard keeps on poping up. Tried factory rest but of no use.

I have an Omnia ( I900 ) at this moment and it's unlocking was very easy. Go to dialer, enter a code that would open a service menu. Chose SIM LOCK and disable it. Soft reboot and voila... Anyway i learned it too late so i have an X-SIM that allows me to use my phone with any sim card. My question is, did anyone unlocked a Galaxy?

When I first got the phone it was all good up until a couple days ago when I noticed it. So should I call Tmo customer service to get a replacement or wait it out till it get worse.

Everything else in 1.6.3.3 seems to be behaving quite well for me, even taking pictures.Haven't had the pixelated or no image thing at all.Is there something I am missing that I could try ?

Is there anyway that you can get the screen to "wake" from just touching one of the softkeys and then enter the screen unlock pattern, rather than having to use the dedicated lock button on the side?
It's pretty annoying, especially if the phone is lying on the table and u just wanna look at the screen you cant just mash one of the softkeys.
I've entered a wrong pattern too many times. The phone now asks for my gmail username and password. I tried to enter them, but it doesn't accept the credentials. They are certainly valid, I know because I logged in via web browser with the same name/pass and it works.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI was searching online to see how to make a shortcut to toggle the 3G connection on and off without having to sift through multiple menus. I came across the method of having a long press on the power lock button to pull up the menu but mine does not show the network data on/off option and never has. It only shows
* Silent mode
* Airplane mode
* Power off
* Restart
Nothing else. Is there a way I can make a shortcut or some other way to ADD the network data on/off on this pull up menu from the power lock button? By the way why would my phone not have this option from the start when the phone came with Gingerbread and was updated to ICS 4.0.4? I have Sprint so they call this the Epic 4G Touch, so not sure if it was Sprint that buggered this from the other SGS2s that have this feature or not.
I know the Fascinate has no dedicated camera button, and I can't seem to find an app/hack for it, but is it possible this is in the works? Is it possible to reroute one of the hard buttons for this purpose? I know a lot of people would like it, but being that it seems to not exist at this point, I'm guessing it may be an impossibility? If i have the same problems (dialpad not working during calls) then i've to return it. If their engineer cannot fix it, i'll (hopefully) get a replacement.So i'm running Galaxo with JC6, what should I do before returning the phone? I'm thinking Nandroid and then copy everything to my hard disk and remove that from my phone. Then use ODIN to install the latest official firmware (which is?). Has ANy one tried opening Samsung Galaxy i7500?, I have chnaged to galaxo 1.6.4. and running it happily downloading stuff and all and all of sudden battery discharged to the point that it would not get charged any more, Insitailly I thought I fried my battery with excess charging, hence I looked for batteries, fortunately in my THIRD world county India, there is no battery in stock at service stations. Hence I needed to wait for 5 days. Now remember I said fortunately.. whyy....cause then i tried restore the old OS, which Galaxo promptly helped me with, Now i tried charging again, but NO way, but the phone was getting heated up like it was on stove or something and it again stopped charging, So I understood its not the battery but the motherboard which has problem...

Running a Bell Galaxy-S with 2.1 and the OCLF. Recently when I lock my phone or it just goes to sleep (screen shuts off) I can't unlock it. The screen just stays blank and it requires me to pull the battery and replace to boot it back up. There doesn't appear to be any consistency with this error and I haven't installed any new apps in recent time that would have changed the phone around.

I am wondering how to apply themes from xda in our galaxy. A lot of themes say that will only work on cyanogen mod rom and i am not that expert to make experiments with my phone. The way of setting a theme must be the same (update.zip or correct me if i am wrong). I think we can make a list here of the working themes on galaxy and maybe a how to install or modify themes to work with galaxy.
