I am having problem with the screen unlock button. Whenevr I press the unlock button - it takes me to the shutdown/silence screen. I tried calling from some other phone, so the screen got unlocked but the keeyboard keeps on poping up. Tried factory rest but of no use.

While taking apart my Galaxy I broke the copper ribbon to the lock button and now I cannot unlock the phone! Is there a hack or other way to unlock this phone? It currently has Galaxo 1.6.3.3
I can probably boot into recovery and flash any zip but currently I cannot get to the home screen as it is locked so Lock 2.0 or other Market app is not a solution.
what the default behaviour of the back button is, as far as the Android platform is concerned.
For example, in the Contacts Application, if I am creating a contact, I just key in a name, and the press back button, the contact is saved with only the name. Fair enough. But, I then edit this contact to include a phone number and press back button. This contact is updated which now includes the phone number. I again edit this contact. This time I remove the name, as well as the phone number and press the back button. I get a message saying, "Contact doesn't exist". In this case, it deletes the contact. :(
In the mail appllication, while composing, when I press back, it goes to the drafts folder. Thats good. But, if I just have to cancel this, and I don't want this to go to drafts folder. For this, I have to open the menu, and select "Cancel".
Is there a way to set a different button to turn the screen on to unlock the phone?An app or anywhere in settings?I hate touching the top button to turn on screen.What would be ideal is hitting a pattern on the bottom 4 buttons and then it unlock even without the swipe.Say my code is like hitting search twice then menu once then home once and the phone comes on.No swipe necessary.

I saw where there is an app that will turn off the screen without locking it but isn't anyone else worried that after a few months of use, pushing the power button all the time is going to wear it out? Is there no app to turn on the screen by simply touching it, or touching one of the 4 icons at the bottom of the phone, and THEN moving the puzzle piece?

When I first got the phone it was all good up until a couple days ago when I noticed it. So should I call Tmo customer service to get a replacement or wait it out till it get worse.

View 2 Replies View RelatedStrange thing happened.When I try to disable the cammera button ( Galaxo+ settings ) it doesn't work.In fact all it will do is force close on me. Everything else in 1.6.3.3 seems to be behaving quite well for me, even taking pictures.Haven't had the pixelated or no image thing at all.Is there something I am missing that I could try ?

View 5 Replies View Relatedmy brand new samsung fascinate just went white. I went to push the button on the side to unlock it, and just lit up white. I went to do a hard reset and it did not solve the problem. When i restart phone, i can hear the phone start up music, and the soft buttons on the front work, but all i see is bright white. I had someone call me, and my phone rang, yet all i saw was a bright screen. When it goes idol to black, it wont turn back on at all.

I searched about nexus since it is similar and saw a few things about the app LOCKBOT, i recommend you atleast try the free version and see, it gives you unlock with the trackpad button and the ability to do custom lockscreen with different styles like Iphone, and different android locks. THis was one grip i didnt like about sense. Stock Android has the ability to swipe to unlock or swipe the other way to mute sounds, which is a nice feature, although i prefer my iphones switch the best
The bad...Ive read stuff about it crashing and being laggy, now i havnt experiended this on the INC, it runs super smooth. But i have been having a few times where the front button will not unlock the phone, maybe an update will fix this or something, but its worth a shot to look at.
I notice on my eris that when i am on a menu with a black background that if i hit my back (bottom button) a little firmly, right above the button on the lcd kind of changes colors. Like if you press your laptop screen, its only a little bit though. If you could, please try this and report back.

It's pretty annoying, especially if the phone is lying on the table and u just wanna look at the screen you cant just mash one of the softkeys.
Does anyone have problems with the lock/unlock button? Mine is hard to press (no click or travel) and sometimes it won't recognize that you've pressed it.

However, the one thing that BUGS THE HECK out of me is the unlock procedure. I hate grabbing the phone, adjusting my grip to hit the (power/unlock) button, readjusting my grip, then sliding the screen lock. Is there any way to use the optical joystick button to initiate the unlock procedure, as I think this would make using the phone SO much more enjoyable. I don't like fumbling with the device everytime I use it, MAKE IT EASIER HTC! Anyway, what are you're thoughts on this issue?

Im okay with the sliding I just cant stand hitting the power button to turn on the phone. I wanted to know if theres a app test disables the need to hit the power button so all I have to do is slide my finger across the screen and it turns on? On short press, it should act regularly (waking up and showing the swipe screen). I've tried "No Lock", "Autolock" and "My Lock Utility" but these unlock the phone immediately after pressing the power button I think this would be the ideal combination of functionality.
My phone is Motorola Atrix.
