My Phone'sinternal memory is full. I ran the SD Maid System Cleaner and it shows that I can clean 1.25 GB of memory in datalog folder .
Is It safe to clean this folder with this tool ?

I've noticed with a lot of cleaning app's they leave behind unused folders and files of app's that have since been removered and started up a small graveyard so to speak of these app's and their directories...
Is there an app that will inspect your installed app's and then clean and free up space according to what's installed and what's uninstalled but left behind?
Sony Walkman Z series NWZ-Z1060 (Z1000, Z1050, Z1060, Z1070) want to flash my firmware seems after I used a update my player keeps turning itself off with a full battery charged, works plugged in so was wanting to see if a clean install will fix this problem. Was on android 4.0.4 sony update i installed the latest 2.3 update and is not working properly.

Does the system perform a clean install of the new version(i.e. remove the older version and then install the new) or something else? What if the user wants to retain the stored data- say values in the shared preference or a sqlite database? How can I emulate this app-update-install scenario? If I have a version 'x' installed on my emulator and I do a adb install of version 'x+1' I am getting INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXIST error. So does anyone have task killer or some other program that can close out all inactive apps and keep it close that work with Froyo? After the update, battery drain faster because all the apps was running at the background. lots of them!
View 23 Replies View RelatedI regret this so much and I should think next time, but I tried to clean my usb port with automotive brake cleaner because it wasn't charging. This MELTED my home and back buttons so they don't click anymore, started to dissolve the exterior paint, and damaged some of the interior plastic parts near the usb port.I took it apart and the board looks good, just some of the plastic interior parts disfigured a little bit, hence the home and back buttons not "clicking". I rinse off the bottom part of the phone with denatured alcohol to try and get rid of any extra brake cleaner and now I have the components sitting in a plastic baggy full of rice for the night. Does anybody know if the dummy phones in stores have working buttons? I'm thinking of buying a dummy phone b/c all I need is the front housing and working buttons.

Recently I noticed some smudges in all of my photos (see attached pictures). I thought it was just a dirty lens but I took the lens cover off and cleaned the lens thoroughly. It's not the lens cover either because even with the cover off the smudges are still there. The lens itself seems pretty sealed with no easy way to open it up, plus it's a bit too risky for me to attempt since I don't want to break anything. I bought the phone in another country so taking it back to get it fixed is not an option. I looked back at all the pictures I've taken and it seems to show up all of a sudden. I don't think it's software related because it shows up in the stock camera app as well as 3rd party apps. Also, sometimes I get horizontal lines in my photos especially if there is a lot of white background (see pic#2). I'm not as concerned about that though.
P.S. I have a Galaxy S2 from T-Mobile.
How do you wipe a phone completely clean? My husband has a new job w/ phone, so we want to get rid of his Charge. I have a DInc that I plan on shedding before year's end, and I too want to make sure all personal info, pics etc. are off. Do I just learn how to restore to factory setting & remove the sd card?

I thought killing apps was unnecessary since Android does this automatically when RAM is full and that killing apps manually actually drains battery life. What's the deal? Is swiping an app away from the Recent Apps List the same as killing an app? I currently do this often because the list is usually packed.

Background: I have been trying to root my phone from information found in a youtube video. All went well and the little ninja bloke with the sniper rifle was in the app list. Tried installing busybox and was told that the phone was not rooted�..
I think I ran the root application again and at some point I started getting this error message when in recovery. I have since run the one click root method to unroot the phone and the little nija dude is no longer there. Since I rooted the phone it will no longer connect to my wireless network, it finds the network and attempts to obtain an ip address. After a few min it times out and tries again. When I load the phone recovery the error message is still present.
I am an Android app developer, and I have purchased a Nexus One device which I use to continuously test my developed Android applications.
Background: ----------------- One of the applications I developed uses a native shared library (e.g. myNativeLib.so). Only my application loads & uses this native library. I had developed this app before Android NDK came out. I pack my native library into my apk's 'assets' folder, and during my application start- up, I extract this native library from my package's assets folder to my app private directory (i.e. <assets> -> /data/data/<myappprocess>/ myNativeLib.so). Then I use System.load() API in my application to dynamically load this native library.
Problem: ------------ This application was developed during Android 1.5 (i.e. cupcake) days {I didn't have the Nexus One then}. The above procedure has been working without any problems right from Android 1.5 to Android 2.2 (i.e. Froyo). I have also tested the same on my Nexus One for Android 2.1 (i.e. Eclair) and Android 2.2.
The problem began the moment I recently upgraded my Nexus One to Android 2.2.1 via the FRG83 system update. Now, whenever I try to load my native library, I get the following error:

What I have Tried: -------------------------- 1. I tried my application using Android 2.2 SDK (emulator)...it works, no issues. 2. I checked out the latest froyo & android2.2.1 source code from Android open-source, built & tested my application + native lib using the latest froyo source...it built & ran, no issues. This should've taken care of any changes in the native code dependencies between Android 2.2 & Android 2.2.1 3. I even checked Android 2.2.1 source code for dalvik (java System & Runtime classes) + bionic (linker & dlopen sources) between Android 2.2 & Android 2.2.1 (using source checked out from Android open-source), but couldn't find anything consequential 4. I am unable to return my Nexus One to Android 2.2.
Can we modify the system while the phone is booted now that we have the unrevoked recovery flash tool? is this what NAND unlock means?

Obviously I would back up my SD card onto my computer before proceeding. Just wanted to get some feedback from someone who might have already done this.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Evo Froyo 2.2 using unrevoked 3.2.1 I Installed Titanium and ROM Manger Premium and Wireless tether.2.0.5-pre9. Id like to flash the new OTA rooted myn-OTA_Supersonic_3.29.651.5-DEODEXED.zip ROM to get the better frame rate. I have never flashed before (not true, in the 70s in collegeerr, skip that) But I still have several unanswered questions.
1) I understand that even though this 3.29.651.5 is an upgraded ROM, I still have to flash it. If I were not rooted I could take the OTA upgrade from Sprint. So do I need to do a data wipe and wipe cache and dalvik cache using ROM Manger before I flash this new ROM version?
2) Someone told me I would use to Titanium Backup to backup all apps and settings, do a wipe, flash the rom, then restore using Titanium Backup If I do a wipe and then flash, and all apps are gone, how could I restore from Titanium? Isnt that gone too? Will restoring from Titanium also restore ROM Manager and the Wireless tether.2.0.5-pre9?
3) I also got this response, Also, don't forget to flash the new radios that came with the OTA Are these not included in the 3.29.651.5 rom? Do I have to hunt these up separately and flash them separately or with the 3.29.651.5 rom?
4) I have removed some bloatware programs such as NFL and NASCAR from the apps using Titanium. Ive read where some say they had to replace these to flash this update. Is that true? What happens if I flash and do not have those apps present?
As much as Ive read, I still see conflicting advice on how to proceed. When I read instructions on something, I usually see another post 5 or more down from someone else that then says, Oh dont forget to do So if anyone can help with these, Id appreciate it. I may develop new questions after this, but Ill be a step closer to having the answers and my first root.
