HTC Hero :: Wave Secure Wiped Clean / All Apps Need Re-installing?
Jan 26, 2010Just a quick question. When 2.1 is finally released, my Hero will be wiped clean and all apps will need re-installing, do you think, as the free for life wave secure offer will be over, they will want payment next time or is it a simple case of re-installing under the old terms? Hopefully this makes sense. You can probably tell I am quite new to all this!

Feb 27, 2012I have installed some apps from Android Market to my Galaxy y. I needed to reset the factory settings and all the apps in the phone was erased. I only wanted to delete the email account. I tried to go to Android Market to reinstall. But it won't get in my phone anymore even when I click on install. There is a button that says installed. I checked on "manage account" setting and none of the applications are there. From Android market, when I click on "My Library" I see all the apps that I have downloaded before.
Question: Is it not possible to reinstall these free apps again? If so how do I do it?

Apr 11, 2012Recently my Samsung Galaxy Mini went into a boot loop. To solve this, I had to factory reset the phone, deleting all my apps. When I log onto google play, and navigate to my previous apps, it says they are still installed, and won't let me reinstall them. Is there any way round this?

Is swiping an app away from the Recent Apps List the same as killing an app? I currently do this often because the list is usually packed.

I have been reading of similar problems in other threads but mine is different so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions
Heres what happened
I followed the backup instructions perfectly (INFO: The backup and restore i have on my phone wasnt on the phone originally, it was added by the sony ericsson Computer software about 2 weeks ago so i assume this is the most recent version)
I then downloaded the update. I turnt the phone back on, and logged into my google account as it instructed, and performed the restore.
My apps were not there. My contacts also didn't return.
Now, if this is because my backup and restore was the wrong version, is there nothing i can do? Please dont say my only option is remembering all my aps and downloading them again. What about the ones that were paid for?

I have never done this before so I had to learn it all from scratch, I think I did it right...anyway I am now running CyanogenMod 5.0.8 Firmware 2.1 (p.s. I feel like i could take a final exam in computer science now...). All is good, it is fast, pretty and has a few bells and whistles my old OEM rom didn't. But, I don't have ANY APPS. Only camera, gallery, browser, messaging, contacts and dialer. Obviously Cyanogen can not include Google proprietary apps in its package. I did install something that allowed me to sign into my Gmail account (Gapps-ds-ERE36B-signed.zip) so now I get new email notifications, and my contacts list is populated with my google contacts, but I have no "gmail" icon anywhere.

Whenever I tried the reinstall, there is an error stating insufficient storage available. Checking the SD card, it says 140 MB available. I seem to be able to install new apps, but not reinstall previously installed. The specific apps this has happened with are Better Keyboard, shazam and handcent. Any suggestions?

Fine. The issue being, the old service code interferes with the new code and users uninstall then reinstall immediately in attempt to resolve. Google registers the uninstalls, but not the reinstalls.
I repeat, the market registers the uninstalls, but prompt reinstallations DO NOT get registered!
I can verify this occurs as each time the app is first run it notifies our servers, and we've got record of each install. This record vastly differs from the statistics google is reporting. These records are verifiably unique users.

I went to marketplace, and SOME of my previously paid for apps showed up as 'purchased' which I then reinstalled fine, but a lot of the rest are not even appearing when I search for them, although their free demo versions do appear. My google checkout lists all the apps I paid for no problems when I look at purchase history on a computer, but still, I cannot even search for these paid apps, let alone attempt to install them!

Jan 15, 2014Tablet is a GT-P7500 Samsung Galaxy 10.1...Was going to be installing a new ROM on my tablet, problem is I though I had transferred the files onto the old tablet, but I had accidentally transferred them to my new tablet. So I opened up CWM and wiped everything. Then went to install from zip and the files weren't there. So I cant boot back into android to transfer the files. I can't boot into adt either and sammobile new hosting site terafile wont allow me to download any of the original files to flash with odin as it keeps coming up with Wrong IP.
Currently it loads to the splash screen showing Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and sits there.Any links to a ROM I can flash through ODIN. Or a way to transfer files onto a dead tab?

Oct 22, 2013I wiped the internal storage on my htc one on accident while trying to wipe the dalvik cache on twrp. Now when I turn on my phone it gets stuck on the splash screen. I hold down the volume button when turning it on and it goes to hboot where I am able to navigate to fastboot and my twrp recovery. Besides those two things all data on my phone is completely gone the storage only has about 16 megabytes on it now. In the cmd prompt typing in adb comes up with device not found and adb device shows an empty list.
Fastboot devices in cmd however dpes find my phone which is odd. Updating my drives doesn't work and the mtp driver can not install for some reason. So I can not use adb to push or sideload anything. I could use twrp to sideload something maybe if I could somehow get something onto my phone. RUU won't work because I never turned my s-off and since I am now at this stage I don't know of anyway I can turn my s-off. how I could get my adb to find my device(updating drivers doesn't work). I've unlocked and relocked bootloader so many times for different things. Basically there is no os on my phone. I can not use adb to put a rom on my phone. I only have access to boot fast boot usb and twrp recovery.

Apr 27, 2014Few days ago I was wiping my phone to install another rom and besides wiping data and cache, I also made the huge mistake of wiping SYSTEM... My phone now just boots into recovery and nothing else.
I have an Efox Smart e4, equals to no.1 s6 and hdc galaxy s4 according to other posts here. MTK 6589, 1gb internal, 1,84gb internal sd.
The first custom rom that i installed was Essefour no.1 s6 by iceman and also the touch recovery. The rom performed great but I wanted to solve the issue that the phone kept switching between sd external and internal randomly. Also, I wanted to merge the internal memory with the internal sd so I was gonna try another rom. With this problem, was even trying the stock rom but to no avail.
When I try to install the Smart e4 factory rom for cwm and I get status 7.

Right now, my computer windows 8.1 x64 can't identify correctly my phone, only access the sd. So can't do any adb push. In download mode it identifies as lenovo composite interface?? and cdc serial, the last I can't install. In other modes, I get gt-9500 but with the yellow triangle.

General :: Make Backup Of Folders To Be Wiped And Then Restore It?
Jan 24, 2013I've been using android for a while now, and I actually can move smoothly througth the system. But now I want to update for the first time my firmware with a newer custom rom. And I have some doubts:
Usually all customs roms make you do the wipes. What what actually happens with that? I know what those directories have, but I guess the proccess only erases the apps and some configuration, right? Because I think some apps config are stored on the internal storage.
It is recommendable to make a backup of the folders to be wiped and then restore it? If it is, will the overall config be the same as before the rom change?
