ok my hero's touchscreen isnt very sensitive, i will try to click somethign and it wont respond, like when i am dialing, it will work to good for some numbers, but other numbers refuse to work.

The problems I'm having:
- The battery is draining wicked fast.
- The phone is ridiculously hot like the radio is working overtime.
- And the screen is so sensitive that when swiping home screens the damn thing tries to go back, or skips a screen. In the browser if I scroll up or down with just one finger it tends to try to pinch zoom. And on the home screen when trying to press and hold an app it double clicks and opens it. The on screen keyboard many times just blips out when swyping trying to type one word and it ends up being 4-5.
So I tried turning the phone off and back on. No difference. Did the OTA update. No difference. I didn't even install any apps yet. But I did remove everything from my home screens to hopefully fix the battery life. No difference. I like the keyboard (miles ahead of the D1) and the fact swype comes stock, if it would only work correctly. Does every droid 2 have these problems? Are they all hot all the time? Are they all super sensitive? Are they all sucking battery at a phenomenal rate?
We all know that if you hold the Home button it gives us a pop up of recently used applications that run in the background for a certain amount of time. But when I do this, then I press home to get back to the home screen, I get that annoying pop up asking me if I want to use Home or HTC Sense UI. So I checkmark the box to set HTC Sense UI to default and when I press home any other time, it goes to the home screen... But when I use that multitasking feature, it shows that damn screen again...
Is this because of Fresh 1.1? Or is there a way I can get rid of this?
A friend dropped my phone in beer and now the sticker is red and I'm tempted to take it all apart to see if the little water evident sticker on the inside near the usb port is also red but don't want to take it all apart just to be able to never get it repaired. I'm looking for both the water evident stickers and the little white one covering that screw behind the battery door cover.

If I open Maps and leave the phone sit for a second to where the lock screen comes on, the touchscreen stops working. I am able to close the app using the buttons and trackball, but have to restart the phone to get touchscreen functionality...
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is random, not necessarily towards the Hero, but I was listening to a podcast and they were talking about how the phone can be used completely from just the buttons/trackball, so I tried it on my Hero. I can scroll to any page, but I can't pick an icon.
It's interesting that the phone CAN do a lot without the touchscreen, but I think it's extremely difficult. Even if they WORK, they are so difficult to use, and the touchscreen is so easy, that I can't imagine anyone using the trackball more than the screen.
I was just wondering what you guys thought, even though the trackball does a lot, I really don't like using it EVER (unless I wrote a big word and I want to change a letter). And if they made a "Curve-style" phone with buttons and a smaller screen that wasn't touch, I think it would be horrible!
I have a HTC Hero 6283 from Cellularsouth and was wondering if moisture is the cause for my touchscreen not working? I've had this phone for 3 months now, but I have noticed that everytime it gets some moisture on it, the touchscreen stops working properly. I've taken the battery out on numerous occasions and sometimes it works.

I went to the notifications menu and had it serach for the HTC program. and it said it did not recognize it... But the Sync program was up and running. Also on the left hand corner of the sync program. It said disconnected. What can I do to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust 3 days ago my Hero started to not work properly. Touch screen (in the bottom, keys 7-8-9 of numerical keyboard) seems to be not completely sensitive and sometimes it doesn't work at all in that zone.
The curious thing is the phone starts working properly after using it for a couple of hours. If the device is in stand-by mode for a long time (i.e. during the night) the issue occurs. Has anyone had a similar problem or know of a solution?
I wonder if ne one had an major issue with their touch screen before like I had with mine. So I decided to post this little story. Let me start off with a little background info. I got my droid november 6, 5 46am central time zone. don't ask me how but the vzw dude was letting me earlier cuz I had work. I was so happy that day leaving t mobile I did love my g1 but wen I read all about the droid I felt likt I had to leave her and move on. She did do a lot for me but time tells all and it was my time go and move on.Untill two months ago (Present time I'm talking in) I realized not everyone has the bubbly keyboard. I saw friends at my unit (I'm in the army reserves) that bought the droid a couple of months after me had flat keyboards n they were bitching bout how flat it was. I agreed with them since I was woth a g1 the keyboard was a bit flat but nothing to were its such a pain, so my friend shows me his keyboard and I looked shocked played with it was like wow and I pulled my n did a side by side side comprasion and this before I saw the bubbley keyboard thread on here. So unforunately my toucscreen starting doin its own thing like it was ghost writer and spazzing out. I had no control over it this happened monday nite and I was dreading it that I will end up replacing it. But it would not let me do nothing.I couldn't go ne where on my screen it would randomly hit different icons to the point were sum times it would call my contacts. I only had control over the physical buttons. So on Tuesday during work I fought the ghost writer to let get to setting a do a system restore. First minute of the set up was ok but right wen it finish and I was on the home screen again. I was like FUDGE I don't want to replace my rare Droid. After work I replaced it, I was real pissed I had the bubbly keyboard and (something I didn't noticed untill I got my replacement) the golden plated volume side button. I miss my precious rare droid. I was soo proud to be first non employee to have the droid in houston.

It onn's but the touch screen was "crazy" it was inverted, to push the button on the down left corner of the screen I must touch in the same spot in the upper right corner, to scroll home screen right I must slide my finger left etc.

I dried it out and left it off. After 24hrs I turned it back on and the phone needed to reset it self, this was done. My phone has totally reset now but the screen don't work. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have got one big problem with the touch input of my Hero. The screen is too sensitive. I can navigate on the screen while my finger is about 5 cm away from it. I can choose what I want, but the screen takes the right horizontal position of my finger, but not the vertical. Anything I want to take, the screen takes the one on the bottom of the screen. The same when I want to write a message or something like this. I choose the "W" or "E", but the screen takes the "X" or "C". If the display goes on Standby and I wake it again, everything is good for a few seconds, but than the same mistake comes again. I already tried to wipe and install a new MCR, but nothing helps. I think, but I am not sure, that I have that problem after I have installed the htc keyboard on android 2.1, as I tried it for a few hours.

Got my new Xperia x10 mini today and tried to bluetooth some pictures from my old phone to my new X10 MINI but it kept failin.It picked the other phone up in the bluetooth menu but when sending from my old phone to the x 10 it wouldnt let me.Also when takin a picture and then wanting to send the pic to my Girlfriends phone theres no option to bluetooth the pic.

The author of the article is right on for the most part. Im willing to pay $199 for the latest and greatest once a year so I dont mind if WiMax will be the niche 4G tech in a year or two. By then, I'll move on to an LTE phone of stick with WiMax, who cares whats happening in 18 months...I'll have my EVO Friday and be able to upgrade in a year.
after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

The touch screen on my Incredible is way too sensitive for me. Maybe I need to develop a lighter touch when scrolling but what I'd really like is a way to adjust the sensitivity.Update problem solved. I was unintentionally tapping when I started my scrolls. Now I'm careful not to let my finger bounce and all is well.
