A friend dropped my phone in beer and now the sticker is red and I'm tempted to take it all apart to see if the little water evident sticker on the inside near the usb port is also red but don't want to take it all apart just to be able to never get it repaired. I'm looking for both the water evident stickers and the little white one covering that screw behind the battery door cover.

ok my hero's touchscreen isnt very sensitive, i will try to click somethign and it wont respond, like when i am dialing, it will work to good for some numbers, but other numbers refuse to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recovered several water damaged phones and thought maybe this could help someone else. If its a toilet or some kind of non-chlorinated water, your phone most likely can recover. First shake it out as best as you can. If it is not off turn it off. Put it in a bowl of rice for about 12 hours. (just with the back off and the battery removed) then disassemble your phone as far as you can.
Take all pieces and set in the sun (preferably outside, unless you live in a humid climate) Seriously do not try to reassemble for 2 days! If you turn it on and any part is wet, you take the risk to short something out. Reassemble it. At least it works for me!
So, I've been having random problems with my phone for a few months now. Nothing debilitating, but enough to cause a hassle. I took it into sprint to see if I could get a refurb or something, and when the tech opened it up, she noticed the water damage indicator was red. Now, not only do I know for sure the phone has never faced water damage, but the sticker on the battery is still in tact. I am one of many who suffer from dust under the cover, so I know that if dust can leak in, moisture would seep in even easier. I looked on ebay to find stickers that I could just replace, but couldn't find anything with the same design/size. Regardless, the Sprint store said there was nothing they could do. Is it worth calling their CS? In all actuality, I'd love it if Sprint would just allow me to upgrade to the Evo with their discount, but i'm sure that's not likely.
View 11 Replies View RelatedJust 3 days ago my Hero started to not work properly. Touch screen (in the bottom, keys 7-8-9 of numerical keyboard) seems to be not completely sensitive and sometimes it doesn't work at all in that zone.
The curious thing is the phone starts working properly after using it for a couple of hours. If the device is in stand-by mode for a long time (i.e. during the night) the issue occurs. Has anyone had a similar problem or know of a solution?
I'm really pissed off right now after seeing this. Why the hell did they put the water indicator at so damn low? Will Sprint take my phone back and swap it for another one? This phone hasn't even fell in water and works fine.

Trying to retrace my steps for a while now but it doesnt seems much of a success. Happened with the lastest version 2.4.2-release/178229
I found under /data/data/com.facebook.orca/databases/stickers_db but theres no breakthough in getting this working for now.
long story short I dropped my hero into a glass of water while half asleep. I immediately pulled the battery out and threw the whole thing into a bag of rice for 2 days. Pulled it out today and it works. But theres noticeable water streaks on the screen when you look at it from an angle. Will these streaks ever go away? I have insurance, so I can get a new one for 100$ but not sure If I should throw the money at it since it still works perfect, minus these ugly streaks.

I dried it out and left it off. After 24hrs I turned it back on and the phone needed to reset it self, this was done. My phone has totally reset now but the screen don't work. View 2 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

Maybe I need to develop a lighter touch when scrolling but what I'd really like is a way to adjust the sensitivity.Update problem solved. I was unintentionally tapping when I started my scrolls. And I use WindowManager. LayoutParams. screenBrightness to get the screen as dark as possible. And I put a layer colored black over the entire display.That works, but at night one sees that the screen is still quite strongly illuminated.Does anybody have an idea of how to get the screen even darker?

They may eventually light up but it would take a while. Also sometimes they light up immediately with no problem. Is anyone else having this same issue?

When I have my Incredible on auto brightness and I am reading a website I can watch it adjust up and down when there are no changes in the brightness of the room I am in. My fix was to just select a brightness and turn auto off.

The keyboard backlight only turns on when the slider is open. Now the touch-sensitive buttons will infact stay lit as long as you would need them, while the screen is on .Life just got a little easier B)

All the notifications are showing up but when I go to pull the screen down it no longer recognizes this action or that I'm touching it. Every once in a while it will work again for no reason that I can tell.
When I try and press on the bar it usually thinks I'm pressing whatever widget is at the top near it. I've tried moving finger positioning but to no avail.
