I may need to reset my phone, but have paid for a few apps, obviously they will disappear, would I need to rebuy the same apps? or is it somehow logged that I have already bought them, thus wont need to buy again?

I've had my Hero for about 24 hours now but thinking about upgrading to the Evo but I want to know if I buy any apps and then switch to the evo do I need to download them and buy them all over again? If that's the case I will wait before buying any of them.

View 20 Replies View RelatedAre there any plans to implement some sort of group/team to review the applications before they're released onto the Market?I've never written anything for iPhone but from what I've read there's at least some quality control in place an application has to go through some sort of review process before it's made available for public consumption, I believe.So why not do that here?Let's be honest there are some great programs out there, and there's absolute crap.some of these are borderline scams.I can think of a few apps that have great descriptions but when you download them, they're nothing more than slideshows or something similar.I've even seen the feedback for one of these applications which said that you have to wait 24 hours before it will work which is, as we all know, the time at which the sale is final and no refund is given.If that's not a dodgy practice I don't know what is.I know it's still an early stage in the game for the platform but it's got a lot of potential - we wouldn't be here if it wasn't, would we? The only way to draw more quality developers to the platform is to implement some sort of control. it seems like it's the wild west here.

With the new features I am about to release in the latest version, and with paid apps now possible, I intend to split the app into a free lite/trial version and a paid full version.I am aware that I must create a new app with a new signature for the full version b/c I can't change the current free app to a paid one.I don't mind this, but,is there any way I can transfer the thousands of feedback and ratings I have accumulated so far to the paid version even though it will have a totally new signature?

Gmail, igoogle, voice, etc. I did some poking around, but it seems no one has ever asked about any way of transferring paid apps from one google account to another. Is this possible, or am I now $20+ in the hole on apps I can no longer use on top of everything else that has happened? For some reason, google flags things that the built-in search can't catch. I have to accept that some of my apps get pirated(that haven't used the licensing service & proguard), but What particularly gets my goat about this site, is that the owner is apparently *charging* for full access to the ripped off apps! I did a factory reset because the option to clear data option under Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - Google Apps - Clear Data was not there (I have Sense UI 2.1, don't know if that was the culprit). My question is, is there a way to reinstall my paid apps, without buying them again, since my phone now associates my new gmail address with the market and Google Checkout? Or is there a way for the market to use my old gmail address so i can reinstall these paid apps without paying for them again, and then use the new address? I backed up all my apps with Astro, but for some reason bTunes didn't get back up.

A few months ago I decided to buy a paid app in the Market and couldn't do so using my Google Apps account. Reluctantly, I added my Google Account as a secondary account on my phone, which allowed me to purchase apps in the Market. Now that I can finally use Google Checkout with my Google Apps account, I would like to remove my Google Account from my phone, since I'm tired of being prompted to select an account each time I create a new contact. Will removing my secondary account affect apps that are already installed? What about when updates become available for these apps in the Market?

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy gmail account got hacked. Someone managed to break in, change my password, and send emails to all my contacts. I have created a new gmail account because I can not access the old one through any password recovery methods available through google. After changing passwords and emails on over 20 accounts, I am at my wit's end. I had to export over 400 contacts from my phone, load them up on PC, then cut out just under 300 (where the hell did all those come from?!) to get to my normal >100. I am now left with the following dilemmas: I have a new email address set up on my phone which works right now, but my gcal is stuck on the old address which will obviously not log in. Phone (Droid, 2.1 stock) is telling me I need to do a factory data reset to get the old account off. Is there any way around this? Also, I have several paid apps. With my original gmail account compromised, and I presume not recoverable, do I just lose all those purchases? I am also having trouble loading my ical backup file (the only way I can get my calendar events) into my new gmail account. The import screen just sits there, doing nothing. I tried searching the forum and net for answers, but I found nothing and have exhausted my mental capacity for this for right now.

I can accept PayPal money transfers, but I don't know how to distribute APK package without exposing it to getting pirated. Now I'm getting a new phone and I want to factory reset my phone, meaning i want all my apps, contact infomation and anything stored in my phone storage to be wiped but I want to keep the custom rom (Jelly bean ) and root permissions still. When I bought my G1 the guy in the shop used his own gmail account to demonstrate and forgot to reset the phone. I got home transfered all my contacts into the G1 from my old mobile which then died. I only have my contacts on the G1 now and no other back up copy. My problem is that the shopguy's gmail is still the default account and I need to do a factory reset. I am unable to synch my contacts with my own gmail account. I am unable to download apps from the market as I dont know the shopguy's password. I am therefore unable to back up my contacts before I reset the phone.
I have been looking for ways to back up my contacts to my PC so that I can reset the phone and then export them back and synch them with gmail via the G1. It seems impossible to do using the USB cable? It is also not possible to save the contacts to SIM or the memory card? I have looked into using sites like zyb or vodafone 360 for backing up my contacts online but they dont seem to work with the G1?
I am a huge Android Forums newbie, but I really needed help with backing up my phone information before hard resetting. Basically, the primary email that the phone is running under is an email for a company I no longer work for so I don't have a valid email there. Because I can't log into my work email, I can't log in and download any new application so unless you guys know of a different solution, I guess my only option is to hard reset and then make a new primary account. However, I would like to save all my contacts and texts messages [if possible, although I hear it's unlikely], but since I can't download any new applications, I also can't download any storage applications for my phone.

Turn on Vlingo In-Car.
Turn on Bluetooth headset and pair it w/ your phone.
Make a phone call and then hang up.
TURN OFF YOUR BLUETOOTH HEADSET.
WHen I do that, my phone RESETS. I think it's only w/ Vlingo in car on, regular bluetooth doesn't do that. (ALTHOUGH, my phone resets if I use gps, charge, use bluetooth, and talk at the same time....) Let me know if it's only an Incredible thing, or HTC thing, or all android thing...
This started this morning. My phone randomly started resetting. At first I thought this was an issue with it coincidently soft rebooting while in my pants pocket. However I've had it sitting on my desk and it's randomly reset twice now with in a span of about 2o minutes.

I backed up my phone through titanium backup then downloaded cyanogenmod and installed it through rom manager. i cleared my cashe and backed up in rom manager. my phone now just boots up to the droid screen then resets. its like a endless cycle lol. is there any way to get my phone back in working order or is it bricked?
