i rooted my phone last night and now the htc facebook doesnt let me update myu contactes with their picture. it says updating but i only does it for 3 secs. please help i tried to do the app update and still the same thing.

I'm wondering about the differences between the two, I know they are both stock-ish roms and everything I just don't feel like reading 1000 pages over the two at xda. The main things I'm wondering about where they differ are free internal memory right after flashing (I'm not interested in A2SD), and of course, speed/stability. I will be overclocking either one should I use them.

- A LOT of my roms dont seem to be compatible

- When i download a widget it doesnt show up in the list.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I installed DamageControl v2.08.1 on my cdma Hero the calendar and date are 24 hours off! Time is correct but it's the next day. When I did a back up of this install it even used the wrong date on the backup. I have a bunch of small issues that I think with patience I may be able to work around but this clock/date thing has me puzzled. Also has anyone figured out how to put a custom city in for the weather widget and not one of the ones listed but for example a small town (any town) some where in the USA? I could do this on my 1.5 but this weather widget acts like the clock and you can only use their listed cities.

So here is my question, under Menu>Settings>Social Network> Facebook appears there. I have that set to update every 12 hours.
HOWEVER, my actual Facebook App is set to update every 2 hours.
So... does the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook control my facebook app or just the bookmark that comes pre-installed on the phone?
I am trying to save battery life, and I noticed that the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook were set to update every hour, but I had the settings under the downloaded app to update every two hours. My goal is to have only one facebook medium updating so I don't drain battery life!

And for the Root part I used Instant Root Acess which worked great! gained root access and downloaded a couple of rott access requiring apps to confirm.
Problem arose when I started using the market app ROM Manager. Firstly, when trying to flash the cusom recovery image, Pressing the appropriate menu button brought up a sub menu where i confirmed my phone type but then nothing, the app just stopped. I waited 30 secs or so, TasKilled it and tried again, same thing.............
I just cleared all my browsing history, cache, form data and all that stuff. Then I went to my bookmarks, where I have the touch.facebook.com bookmarked. I type in my username and password and tap the "login" key. I see the green status bar at the bottom of the screen start to go, but the page just loops. It does not login. Just keeps refreshing... if that makes sense. What am I doing wrong ?

View 19 Replies View RelatedEver since I flashed to this ROM, I haven't been able to sync none of my contacts through the People app even though it says "all contacts synced" within Accounts & Sync. When I try to match a contact with their facebook account, "no matches" show and I don't even have a list of who I can choose.
Does this have something to do with the PRL not being 60663? Mines says 60662. I've tried every solution that was said in the forums. Delete then restart then readd the account. Still nothing.
Should I just reflash? I don't want to but my contacts look so boring without their pictures and statuses
Is seems like only contacts I have saved in my Google contacts are being linked. I thought The Hero would sync all information from my Facebook contacts. So even if I have not saved them I would be able to access their information on my phone, similarly to Palm's Synergy. Am I doing something wrong or is this the way it works?

I logged into the facebook app, but now my contact list is full of facebook contacts, etc. Its kind of annoying. How can I make my facebook account STAY in the facebook app and not integrate with the rest of the phone? View 19 Replies View Relatedanyone experience this within the last hour or so?I noticed that i had to sign back into my account on "Social Networking" in settings, but nothing is syncing back up. they are all still sync'd (if you go into a contact on the computer, there is a "note" in the "notes" section showing the link), but nothing is showing up. I'm guessing eventually it will download everything again and I just need to give it time, and I'm also sure it's a Facebook issue thing, since they just updated and tweaked their UI, but i was curious if anyone else noticed this.

Day one I got the phone I was on Fresh 1.1, then wanted some 2.0 flavor and up'd to Fresh 2.0d. I love the ROM, with the exception I want to be able to use SetCPU (For OC and UC abilities) I don't use Bluetooth or Facebook/Twitter so any issues with OC roms directly related to those issues are not a problem. I prefer something less buggy and not in development phase. So what do you recommend, and why?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIf this is already posted but i couldn't find it. so today i figured out how to get the stock facebook widget to work again because every time i opened it up or tried to post something i got an error number/null (i forgot what it exactly said) so what i did is go to the market and look for the facebook app and install it. its going to ask to uninstall the old one and reinstall it. do that and once it is complete, uninstall the updates because for some reason the widget would not load and voila the stock widget works again if you guys already know this feel free to delete this post. And FYI i too also mainly use the touch.facebook site but sometimes its nice to be able to post something without going to the browser and it just irritated me that after updating to 2.1 a stock widget kept failing but i thought i would share this with all of you
