Im not sure what i did to cause this, but after syncing my phone today, I got my facebook friends' phone numbers added to my contacts. I went into the settings to delete the FB account on my phone, yet the people are still there. at first I thought it was kinda cool to have them all there, but its really a PITA. anyone know how to get rid of them from my contacts?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis seems to be a very annoying feature if there is not a way to disable it (and I can't find one). I have my google contacts all set up and they are the only things I want in my phone book. I know in "people" I can just show google, but when I got to dial a number, all of my facebook friends with numbers show up too. For some reason they are showing up in my google contacts too (when I log into gmail on my computer). It is nice how the facebook picture syncs with my contacts, but that is all I want, not everyone on else facebook who are not in my google contacts.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my 2.1 update this week in Belgium. As i was synchro'ing my facebook contacts in my phonebook, i noticed that my phone doesn't sync all my contacts with facebook. Wen i tried to do this manually per contact, some fb persons do not appear in my "choose contact" list however the contact has the same name in my phone as on facebook ? It appears that the sync is random in choosing the contacts and some contacts'fb profile don't appear if u do the sync manually ? Anyone with the same problem? Example: a friends name is Bianca in my phone, on her facebook profile the same name followed by familyname, but my phone doesn't find her profile when i search manually.

View 1 Replies View Relatedanyone experience this within the last hour or so?I noticed that i had to sign back into my account on "Social Networking" in settings, but nothing is syncing back up. they are all still sync'd (if you go into a contact on the computer, there is a "note" in the "notes" section showing the link), but nothing is showing up. I'm guessing eventually it will download everything again and I just need to give it time, and I'm also sure it's a Facebook issue thing, since they just updated and tweaked their UI, but i was curious if anyone else noticed this.

I am signed in to Facebook through "Facebook for HTC Sense" (when I click "Add Account" and choose "Facebook," it won't do anything) but when I go to a contact and try to link to a friend, there is no one on the list. I have tried logging out and back in, then restarting the phone, but that hasn't fixed the problem. Also, is anyone else having the keyboard refuse to work when trying to send a text?

View 14 Replies View RelatedSince the last update, in my people app, which lists all my contacts, anyone with a facebook profile shows up twice. There are two identical entries, one after another, listed throughout all my contacts.
This is a gigantic PITA since it's effectively added another %50 to my contacts, making it more difficult to scroll thorough and choose a contact.
I'm running 2.1 on my Sprint HTC Hero and I didn't have any problems syncing my contacts to their Facebook accounts.
My problem is, is that the phone took every friend off Facebook and put them in my contacts. How do I take that off. I don't need all 856 of my facebook friends in my phone. And to make it worse half of the numbers are like 1-800-Ask-Me.
I hate how my fb is linked to my phone. I dont like how I get all of my friends on fb as contacts. I dont need all that!! I went to people> menu> and then unselected facebook and stuff on there. So in my contact list, my fb friends contacts dont show.. GREAT!
But if I go to home screen and press phone. and if I scroll all the way to the bottom, the fb friends are all still there... How do I delete them? I long press and there is no delete contact option. I deleted all data on my phone of any fb stuff. What else can i do?
installed the new version of facebook taken from the moto droid i believe, works just great and is a better version in ui and speed, but when i looked in my facebook phone book it seems to be empty not anything there, im currently using version 1.1.0 the old version thats on the market is 1.0.1, does display my phonebook with name and a pic any ideas, as to get this working.

1) why can't I link my contacts with facebook? I'm not talking about syncing them I'm talking about linking them so that their profile pics come up on under "people" on my phone, every other ROM I've used does this just fine but Zen does not for some reason.
2) Do I need an app from the market to see how fast my processor is running? I've seen where some people have run into troubles of having their processor redlined all the time

So my profile pics aren't matching up to what my Facebook contacts have currently as their default pics. It was syncing them fine up until recently. Haven't don't anything different that I know of on my hero. My setting for sync are on for Facebook. I'm running 2.0d

I'm still having to go into People to find phone numbers. Surely both the phonebook and People should have the same contacts in? Or do they just appear on the phonebook list once you've contacted them?
I have to say that this default Application is truly simple and easy to deal with, and that makes it all the more significant in my view. However, I am running into an odd problem, and I would like to see if anyone has had the same experience, and/or could offer their assistance in this matter.
I have linked all of my contacts to their FB profiles, and all seems to work extremely well. However, for reasons beyond my understanding, when I attempt to click on the "Album" icon (To view the photographs of a FB Friend), this App. always makes me go through a "Force Close". This ONLY happens with ONE of my contacts though, as with every other contact I still retain the ability to view their FB Photo Albums. I was thinking that the one contact in question here, possibly has too many photographs for this App. to handle(?), but I can get it to work on a very rare occasion despite such.
I would really like to hear from folks in regard to this issue, because it's puzzling, and somewhat irritating.
I have rebooted, and I have also taken the particular FB profile off of my contact list, and then re-applied it (All to no avail).
Here is the error message:
I wiped my phone and this time decided not to integrate Facebook sync with my contacts. The whole dialer/contacts application runs so much more smoothly without Facebook sync installed. Anyone else experience this?

I thought that I could sync the phone contacts to my Google account. However, each time I try that, it comes up with an error message something like "Google Sync is currently experiencing problems", then I get a "Force Close" message.

I have searched the market but that ones that I found only organize the contacts. Most will let you edit the contact but uses the standard app for editing. While I can get the Hero to connect to my Chrysler Uconnect handsfree system over bluetooth, it does not seem to transfer the phone book over to the device. This is a real pain trying to look in different places for a name to call. Is there a setting that I can change to stop this? I haven't found anything so far.

So here is my question, under Menu>Settings>Social Network> Facebook appears there. I have that set to update every 12 hours.
HOWEVER, my actual Facebook App is set to update every 2 hours.
So... does the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook control my facebook app or just the bookmark that comes pre-installed on the phone?
I am trying to save battery life, and I noticed that the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook were set to update every hour, but I had the settings under the downloaded app to update every two hours. My goal is to have only one facebook medium updating so I don't drain battery life!
