One day I randomly came across a phonebook on my phone of all my facebook contacts who have published there phone number (after I upgraded to 2.1). I have not been able to find it since. How do I find it?

I use all the Contact Example in my android Emulator but it is not displaying phone numbers, it only displays names, so can u just give me one example of android Contacts api which import names and numbers form phonebook.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis seems to be a very annoying feature if there is not a way to disable it (and I can't find one). I have my google contacts all set up and they are the only things I want in my phone book. I know in "people" I can just show google, but when I got to dial a number, all of my facebook friends with numbers show up too. For some reason they are showing up in my google contacts too (when I log into gmail on my computer). It is nice how the facebook picture syncs with my contacts, but that is all I want, not everyone on else facebook who are not in my google contacts.

I went into the settings to delete the FB account on my phone, yet the people are still there. at first I thought it was kinda cool to have them all there, but its really a PITA. anyone know how to get rid of them from my contacts?

I got my 2.1 update this week in Belgium. As i was synchro'ing my facebook contacts in my phonebook, i noticed that my phone doesn't sync all my contacts with facebook. Wen i tried to do this manually per contact, some fb persons do not appear in my "choose contact" list however the contact has the same name in my phone as on facebook ? It appears that the sync is random in choosing the contacts and some contacts'fb profile don't appear if u do the sync manually ? Anyone with the same problem? Example: a friends name is Bianca in my phone, on her facebook profile the same name followed by familyname, but my phone doesn't find her profile when i search manually.

My problem now is, I can't delete certain numbers from contacts. For instance, my girl friend's number has "411" as her primary number (not sure how that happened). It wont let me delete it from her contacts card now :*(
I am not sure if this came up in one of the topics, but I may have missed it.
For the past week, I noticed some of my contact priority number was defaulting to the number I least call. This morning, while trying to figure how to make priority changes, I noticed it was due to linking it to facebook.
I linked my wife's info with her facebook and the priority number (mobile) pushed it to her home number information she has on her facebook account. So instead of me just going to click on my wife's name or say a command to call wife, I have to scroll to find the number I want to call.
I there a fix for this to let us set the priorities?
I recently upgraded to 2.1 and have some issues with my contact list. I have all my contacts still, but whether it be the facebook app or the 2.1 upgrade, I now have multiple copies of each contact. Within each contact it has the persons number as well as their "main" number which is the same thing just duplicate, and when I go to add a contact for a text or for calling someone, some contacts show up with all their numbers (home, business, etc) 4 or 5 times. Anyone else have this problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola Droid and my roommate just bought the HTC Droid Eris. He has 1000+ contacts in his Google Account and only wants to display ones with phone numbers. The MOTO Droid does this easily - Dialer > Contacts > Menu >Display Options > "Only display contacts with phone numbers" I'm baffled - the Droid Eris doesn't have this option? Is this an HTC Sense thing or an Android 1.5 thing? And, have any Droid Eris owners found this annoying and found a work around?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have my Facebook contacts linked to my phone. But when a comment, post, or message is received by my phone it's listed as a number. These messeges are not listed under that contact but they are in the general list of messages received. When i try to save the post/message to my contact it creates a new phone number for that person. For example, when i get notified of a comment my Facebook contact puts up, it is listed as coming from 3266518 ...then 519 and so on instead of being tied to that person. When i try to save it to that person it saves it as an additional phone # for that person. I have notifications setup on Facebook and my contact linked to Facebook. Are these two different things?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy fiance and I both got the Eris last week, and we both got our contacts transfered from our old phones (hers was LG EnV Touch). We both had existing Gmail accounts which were setup by the Verizon techs at the store as well. The other day, she started telling me that she was getting this weird message on her phone "Too Many Contact Deletes" or something to that effect. I disregarded it as nothing, and carried on until tonight.
She called me freaking out that all her favorite people in her HTC Favorites Widget were gone, including me, and that my number just showed up when i called her, no name, no picture, just number. So I had her check her People list and she said they were all still there, except that all their Phone Numbers were missing. I quickly logged into her GMail account to confirm, sure enough, everyone was still there, but all the numbers were gone.
I did some research and found a little bit on the error message she got originally, but nothing about random deletion of contacts phone numbers. I still have her LG EnV Touch here with all her contacts, and am contemplating deleting all of her Gmail contacts, all of her Phone contacts and then importing the list into GMail, and syncing with the phone. Is that what you would do? I'm worried that this will happen again. What is this caused by and how does she prevent this in the future?
Just received my Desire and loving it. My only issue so far is that even though I've selected in the People app only to display Google contacts there seems to still be Facebook contacts appearing, albeit only the ones who have entered phone numbers into their Facebook profile. This causes duplicate entries for the same person in messaging apps (default and Handcent) and in the People app it seems to prefer to show the Facebook contact details rather than the Google ones.

Only when it comes as phone contacts i can use them in other apps like Viber and Whatsapp. Its not practically possible add and each very number manually (1800 friends ). Is there any way to copy Facebook numbers to phone contacts or likewise?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever an unknown number texts me, my phone is adding random facebook contacts to those numbers. For example, Orange texted me and it came through as being from this guy who is a friend of a friend who i have on facebook. It adds his name and profile picture to the top of those texts though and it's really annoying. It also started doing it with a second person (totally unrelated to the first), this time for texts from my bank. What i have discovered is that on facebook they both have a line in their info which says 'Mobile Number: " but then no mobile number (shown in the picture below), so i presume they've both put a space there and for some reason my phone has taken this and linked them to these unknown numbers. I've deleted both "Facebook for HTC Sense" sync and "Facebook" sync (not desirable, because i like seeing peoples profile pics and birthdays in my phone contacts), but it still happens. I also tried unlinking the first person from all of the links it had made, but that didn't work either. I have a HTC Hero running 2.1.

I tried this, and now, opening my Phonebook shows all my facebook friends with their facebook profile pic, and number (if they have entered one on facebook). Sweet! Less work for me!
BUT - a lot of my facebook friends do not put their number on their profile, so I need to add the number for these Phonebook contacts. However, there seems to be no way of adding a phone number for them; and these people do not appear when I want to select a contact to send a text to? What is that all about? How do you add phone numbers to contacts that were synced in through facebook, so you can then select them when you want to call or text them?
So when I open a contac it has 2 number, the one from facebook and the one I already has. Also I dont want the email either, so basically just the picture.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem for last couple of weeks - When I got the phone (around 2 months ago), I created all my main contacts, added their names, numbers and email addresses. So, at least a month goes by, but then one or two contacts start losing their phone numbers (the name and email address remains). I have tried everything from simply entering and saving the number again via the phone book and even adding the number from text messages sent by the person in question - each time I have ensured that I have clicked 'done' and/or the save symbol. I exit the phone book, but if I check back later it's been lost again. This seems to happen with only one or two particular contacts - I am not sure what is unique about them. Anyone got any ideas why this may be happening? I have read the manual re: phone book, so I am following all of the steps so I am not sure whether or not the phone has a fault.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore I upgraded to 2.1 OTA, my contacts had no problem syncing with Facebook (both manual and automatic). Here is what happens: I go to a contact, find the bar that says "Link to Facebook" or whatever it says, click it, then type in the name of the person to search Facebook friends, but no matter what I do it says that there are no matches. No one else has reported this problem, so I'm guessing it isn't a problem inherent to 2.1. Could you guys provide some input as to what I need to do to fix this?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI just set up my Droid Eris to sync my contacts with their Facebook profile so that their photos would show up in my contacts. I synced them all and them matched up properly, but their pictures are not aligned properly. When I first did it, their faces were aligned and everything looked ok, except some pictures were pretty pixelated. But after a few minutes, the pixelation went away and the quality of the pictures was better, except a lot of my contacts have their head not in the photo or just misaligned. More than half are off.I thought at first it was that they didn't set up their picture properly on Facebook, but I looked at their mini pictures (like the ones that show up in the news feed) and their faces were showing up properly. Even their mini pictures on the facebook app are correct. And these seem to be the same size as the pics in my contacts.Why is it that my contacts photos aren't aligned right on some of them and how can I fix this?

Forward to today and I had to delete and resync my contacts, after which it seems it wants me to link every contact individually. I must be missing something, surely there is a way to just tell it to make all suggested links.
