Sprint HTC Hero :: Market Downloads Hang On Paid/free Apps
Feb 28, 2010Since flashing to a 2.* rom and back a few times i am now back on fresh 1.1 and I am trying to do a few updates and download new apps but everything hangs. It just says either authorizing credit card for paid or starting download for free apps. I have even let it go over night and it never finished.

Aug 31, 2010As of yesterday, apps in my downloads section are missing. Last one I updated was mytracks (says I updated google maps well its the last on the list)And instead of having there 20-30 apps I have there 5.Apps that are missing arent the ones that I moved to SD.And I cant attach them to market CUZ they are attached. Installed. When I search for them in the market. It says installed and I can even update. I just dotn see them in the download section..Now I thought it might be something cuz I changed markets via market access to be able to download payed apps. But which sim I try , the same few apps (all after clear cache and force stop ofc) pop up.

Aug 22, 2010I've got the sprint update on my non rooted phone. I'm in Portland Oregon, and it seems that my internet download speed is much slower than I expect. When I run a speed test I am coming up with .3mbps. Is that normal? What can I do to speed it up? Also, it pings to Los Angeles, seems funny to me. I primarily use my hero as a tether to my laptop and like to watch netflix. I have the all data plan with sprint.

May 3, 2010I have just installed the villain 5.4 rom, which is great. i backed my apps using appmonster & have reinstalled them. however none of these reinstalled apps appear in the android market. Is there a way of fixing this without having to download the apps from the market?

Feb 21, 2010I have just had my hero/g2 back from tmobile uk after the earpiece broke they have fixed it and done a software upgrade.but i have lost everything and i mean everything.used my backup pro to back everything up and now says my trial has run out and when i try to buy the pro version it cant find it on the market.how do i get all my paid apps back??when i search for the paid apps they dont show up in the marketplace (i have tried my downloads and nothing is there)

Jun 3, 2010I wiped and flashed fresh 2.1.2 and initially it gave me about 90mb free after a clean and fresh install. After I installed all my apps I still had about 70mb left. But during the past few days I've noticed the internal memory slowly decreasing or leaking even though I haven't downloaded anything new. I've lost about 10mb by doing absolutely nothing.

May 1, 2010I like to download podcasts to my hero which can take a while because they're pretty big files. If I get an email or text while downloading it pauses my download and says waiting for data connection. The same thing happens sometimes when it bounces from WiFi to Ev. The only way I can get it to start downloading again is to start another download. This is annoying so does anyone know a better way to resume a download or is there some setting I can change?

Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?
Sprint TV
Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.

Android :: Paid Apps In My Downloads
Dec 24, 2009I have been looking around for a solution but didnt find one. I have some paid apps that I got on the Android Market. They were TERRIBLE. I uninstalled them and am now trying to get them to get off my "My Downloads" section of the android market. I know that free apps are supposed to go away after time but that isnt always happening. Anyone have any ideas besides clearing Market Cache? Tried that and didnt work.

Dec 22, 2009Does anyone know if the upcoming Android 2.1 update to the Sprint Hero will allow us to save apps to the SD card without having to root the phone? And also, some things to think about: remember that the Hero only runs class 2 speeds, even if the card is class 6. Do you think this will change once we receive Android 2.1? Because if not, I would imagine that the phone would be slow opening apps (assuming apps to SD will be available).I know that if they do program the Hero to allow class 6 speeds, and allow apps to SD (without root) then the Hero could run MUCH faster than it does now.

Sep 23, 2010My installed apps aren't showing up in the downloads section of the market. Yet if I search for them in the market it says they are installed and I am able to update them. I read that installing a new app somehow refreshes the list so I tried that but didn't help. Tried the market doctor in TiBu that didn't work either. So then clicked restore all apps and after that didn't work I went as far as to wipe my phone and reflash my rom and restored my apps again with TiBu, still nothing.

Aug 22, 2010I've got an HTC Desire & downloaded a few apps/widgets from the market today. They seem to have downloaded ok and I can see them sitting in the 'downloads' tab of the market...but how do I actually get them from here onto my device to use them?
