I remember seeing somewhere that one of JB's new features is the ability to only download the parts of an app that changed for an update instead of downloading the entire app again to save data. I'm on a Bionic with the 232 ICS leak and just watched a 45 MB app update download only 13 MB and then successfully complete the update and run. Is this a feature of ICS now too?

Would like to know, from someone who has tried it, if changing an Application's title in the Developer Console has any affect on the applications Ratings or Number of download statistics. In other words, will I lose anything?
My impression is no, but I don't recall if documentation says that explicitly or if its just implied. Would like to know from someone who has tried it. I don't want to experiment with my app.
Steps to change Title. Go to Developer Console->click link for the app->Look for Listing Details-> Change the Title ->click Save
I have an application published in marketplace and its not updating the active users/number of downloads on the phone display or the developer console. My other application appears to be fine. Anyone else seeing this? Also when the application was uploaded over the weekend there were issues with setting the location targeting. I could not restrict it to US only.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to the default contacts from the home screen I can see all of my contacts, including a lot of duplicate entries where one person will have 2 contact cards, 1 with a plain phone number, and 1 with their number labeled "mobile" (... through research found that the plain-numbered versions are probably simcard saved contacts, which can only contain 1 number per contact)all the apps that use the contacts (ie. hancent) refuse to recognize contacts saved in the sim format, so when i get a text from these people it just comes up with their number.All my contacts look fine in Gmail on the web and I even did a "merge contacts" command on duplicates to try and solve the issue. Looks fine on the web but my phone still has all these dupes, any ideas?

is there a way to view update details in the Google Play Store. I previously had an iphone and on iOS I was able to view what changes the new update has released but cannot seem to find this information on Android.

It's strange, because up to now, I never had this issue with their app store. Anyway, whenever I try to update any of my apps that need updates, the installs fail. The apps don't update, and they're still listed in the "Update" section of the store. I've tried over and over to install them, and they always say the install failed.
Someone suggested going into the settings and clearing the cache/ data for the Amazon App Store app, and I gave this a try, but the problem still occurs.
I have an HTC One V. my apps won't update or download properly from the Google Play store. When I try, it says something like, "package file is invalid" or "Insufficient storage memory."

I uninstalled them and am now trying to get them to get off my "My Downloads" section of the android market. I know that free apps are supposed to go away after time but that isnt always happening. Last one I updated was mytracks (says I updated google maps well its the last on the list)And instead of having there 20-30 apps I have there 5.Apps that are missing arent the ones that I moved to SD.And I cant attach them to market CUZ they are attached. Installed. When I search for them in the market. It says installed and I can even update. I just dotn see them in the download section..Now I thought it might be something cuz I changed markets via market access to be able to download payed apps. But which sim I try , the same few apps (all after clear cache and force stop ofc) pop up.

I know paid apps are supposed to stay incase you want to get them again. But i really do NOT want them. My question is how in the heck do i get the paid apps to get out of my downloads list?
My installed apps aren't showing up in the downloads section of the market. Yet if I search for them in the market it says they are installed and I am able to update them. I read that installing a new app somehow refreshes the list so I tried that but didn't help. Tried the market doctor in TiBu that didn't work either. So then clicked restore all apps and after that didn't work I went as far as to wipe my phone and reflash my rom and restored my apps again with TiBu, still nothing.

I have just installed the villain 5.4 rom, which is great. i backed my apps using appmonster & have reinstalled them. however none of these reinstalled apps appear in the android market. Is there a way of fixing this without having to download the apps from the market?

Mine is going on the third day now and endless Google searches reveal that this problem has affected various Android devices worldwide, including the Incredible that just came out. I've tried all kind of suggestions but none work and there doesn't seem to be any official response from Google on the matter. I wonder if it is a hardware problem since these forums are not buzzing on these issues at all. In my case the phone worked perfectly for 2 days after activating and knowing how high the demand has been surely more people would be experiencing the same issues were it a device or cloud software problem. If anyone else has the same problems please post here.

Whenever I try to update this app, it downloads, but the installation always starts and just stops, saying the installation was incomplete. Of course, I went and took the next step, uninstalling, and trying to reinstall. Same problem. If I was looking at the Angry Birds screen on the market during this, it pops up Installation error Unknown reason-18 I ran into the same issue with Google Sky Map updating, and reinstalling.
