Android :: Apps With 1 Million Downloads
Jul 14, 2010I'd like to know how many apps there are on the market which have exceeded the million download mark.

I'd like to know how many apps there are on the market which have exceeded the million download mark.
I have been looking around for a solution but didnt find one. I have some paid apps that I got on the Android Market. They were TERRIBLE. I uninstalled them and am now trying to get them to get off my "My Downloads" section of the android market. I know that free apps are supposed to go away after time but that isnt always happening. Anyone have any ideas besides clearing Market Cache? Tried that and didnt work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded two apps that I paid for. Hated them so i just uninstalled them. However they will not go away from "My Downloads" This is a problem because I am tired of seeing them in there.
I know paid apps are supposed to stay incase you want to get them again. But i really do NOT want them. My question is how in the heck do i get the paid apps to get out of my downloads list?
I've got an HTC Desire & downloaded a few apps/widgets from the market today. They seem to have downloaded ok and I can see them sitting in the 'downloads' tab of the market...but how do I actually get them from here onto my device to use them?
(Things I've tried...clicking on them in 'downloads' just shows more info on them and clicking install just re-downloads them, longholding just brings up info about them, I can't find a 'downloads' folder on my mobile, they aren't appearing with the other widgets or programs, adding the market on my mobile just links me back to the market homepage...i cant see anything in the user manual or learn more sections that is of help on this - they both say to go to all programs and my downloads but I don't have a my downloads just downloads section in the market which doesn't seem to move them to my device?).
I'm running Froyo on an N-1.I have uninstalled some of the apps that I previously purchased, and I no longer want them to appear in the Downloads area of the Market app. However, they still show up there with the "Purchased" designation, and they contribute to the count of updated apps whenever Market checks for updates.I have followed the instructions here, but they do not work for me:Removing deleted apps from downloads listing.Any ideas as to how I can keep these non-longer-installed, previously purchased apps from showing up within my list of Downloads?

It would be great if I could use TabHost, but I believe it doesn't allow this level of customization.
Where are theu downloaded to? If you uninstall an app is it still on the phone in a folder somewhere on the phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs of yesterday, apps in my downloads section are missing. Last one I updated was mytracks (says I updated google maps well its the last on the list)And instead of having there 20-30 apps I have there 5.Apps that are missing arent the ones that I moved to SD.And I cant attach them to market CUZ they are attached. Installed. When I search for them in the market. It says installed and I can even update. I just dotn see them in the download section..Now I thought it might be something cuz I changed markets via market access to be able to download payed apps. But which sim I try , the same few apps (all after clear cache and force stop ofc) pop up.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy installed apps aren't showing up in the downloads section of the market. Yet if I search for them in the market it says they are installed and I am able to update them. I read that installing a new app somehow refreshes the list so I tried that but didn't help. Tried the market doctor in TiBu that didn't work either. So then clicked restore all apps and after that didn't work I went as far as to wipe my phone and reflash my rom and restored my apps again with TiBu, still nothing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just installed the villain 5.4 rom, which is great. i backed my apps using appmonster & have reinstalled them. however none of these reinstalled apps appear in the android market. Is there a way of fixing this without having to download the apps from the market?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI remember seeing somewhere that one of JB's new features is the ability to only download the parts of an app that changed for an update instead of downloading the entire app again to save data. I'm on a Bionic with the 232 ICS leak and just watched a 45 MB app update download only 13 MB and then successfully complete the update and run. Is this a feature of ICS now too?

View 18 Replies View RelatedI've been using AppBrain to interface with the Android Market and I have been running into an issue where I try to install a couple of apps, it says it's starting download, but then nothing happens. I even turned on and off my 3G a few times, with no luck. This has happened once before. Is there something wrong or is this a case where the Android Market is a POS?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDon't know what happened but the my downloads section looks like it does after a factory reset, with all the free downloads not listed, the difference though is that if I search for them in the market, they all still show as installed. anyone have any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone lately get the Google talk authentication error notification repeatedly and find that they can no longer download apps from the Android market? Mine is going on the third day now and endless Google searches reveal that this problem has affected various Android devices worldwide, including the Incredible that just came out. I've tried all kind of suggestions but none work and there doesn't seem to be any official response from Google on the matter. I wonder if it is a hardware problem since these forums are not buzzing on these issues at all. In my case the phone worked perfectly for 2 days after activating and knowing how high the demand has been surely more people would be experiencing the same issues were it a device or cloud software problem. If anyone else has the same problems please post here.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince flashing to a 2.* rom and back a few times i am now back on fresh 1.1 and I am trying to do a few updates and download new apps but everything hangs. It just says either authorizing credit card for paid or starting download for free apps. I have even let it go over night and it never finished.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI flashed a new rom, but that deletes all of my apps so I used My Backup Pro to get all my apps back, but that doesn't add them back to the "My Downloads" part of the Market. Is there any automated way that I can add them back without having to go through them one by one. I don't mind paying for an app

View 13 Replies View RelatedI always noticed that "Market" app downloads sat for a long time in the "Downloads" queue, hung at "Starting download...", but the download would eventually start. Now that I changed countries and removed the SIM card, downloads don't work at all. They always hang at "Starting download". It isn't a networking problem, as search works and a different set of apps is visible (probably related to the country switch).
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my application I am trying to track Downloads happening in my device (from Google play store or from any URL s) . I don't want to start any download my app should track of downloads going on in device. When ever Download starts my application should start listening to it. When user starts downloading my application should track download start time and when download completes I want to get end time and size of data downloaded.
Q1. Is there any way to do the above requirement.
Q2. If multiple downloads happening I want to get record of both downloads separately.
Q3. I need to get from which url Download is happening. Or Is it happening from any app like Google play store.
Implementing a service to handle connection changes and downloads. The service handles a queue of AsyncTasks, each representing a "download task". This way, we can cancel/pause tasks when connection drops, and also restore them when connection is reestablished. Since the threads AsyncTasks are run are not deterministic, how many ATs should I execute() at the same time?
I've read that I shouldn't reuse tasks. How can I achieve this pause->resume functionality then? Should I tell the thread to sleep? Should I make a no-op while if connection is down? I was trusting the cancel(true) method, which I've read is not reliable either.
My main DownloadTask is a subclass of AsyncTask that returns a new AsyncTask to be called when the connection is restored.
i have frg22d and i downloaded the flash app, now the market no longer downloads anything for me... it keeps saying download was unsuccessful for everything i try downloading and whats even stranger is apps that i have uninstalled are now showing up in my downloads section.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a lot of trouble trying to download gpx files on my htc desire. Several sites which hold these files seem to use something called index.php to get the download started and the phone simply says can't open this file. This seems pretty basic so am I missing something, did the developers deliberately not support this or is it just very hard to do on this sort of platform?

I am performing several https posts and http downloads from two different servers using AsyncTasks. The connections are fairly quick but I'm surprised to see that they are running synchronously instead of in parallel.
To be more explicit, here is pseudo-code for what's happening when I initiate a call to AsyncTask1():
CODE:..............
I bumped into a guy I know the other day and happened to notice he had a HTC desire. We had a brief chat about it and he showed me some of his apps. He had an app that can control torrent downloads on your PC. I forget what it was called. This would be a usefull app.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a brand-new HTC Desire in front of me, and cannot get a couple of functions to work properly (yet), as for instance the facebook and mail widgets. I figured out that it would be a good start to get the newest versions of all those applications and widgets that make trouble, but when I try downloading anything using Android Market, the downloads get stuck at "Starting download...", apparently indefinitely. I have seen that others had this problem too, but I could not find a solution yet.
