Sprint HTC Hero :: USB Device Not Recognized

That's the error win 7 gives me when I plug in my Hero (cdma, not sprint, running zen-EXP-0.9.6.2 update 2) it won't let me do anything with the phone via the computer. I've tried changing sd cards to no avail, tried changing roms, but the phone wouldn't finish booting with any other rom that I have, (or even a reinstall of the currently used rom) I don't have any previous nandroid backups. (I swear I made them! but they weren't found!) I'm at a loss as to what even happened here unless it was a malicious program.

I've had no really problem and i had the phone since it was brought out..on TMobile in the uk. A couple of months a go i connected the phone to my pc to up load some pics and the windows message came up saying"USB Device Not Recognized".I couldn't get it to connect for weeks, then out of the blue it did.A week ago i got an system update (2.1, if not how do i do this??)through the phone and not it won't connect again?

Have just downloaded the new windows 7 sync for my hero and installed. Pluged phone into usb and nothing, all i get is a windows message saying device drivers could not be installed properley, then usb device not recognized. Have uninstalled and reinstalled software and that hasnt helped. Also when i do plug phone into the usb, absolutely nothing happens on my hero. Please help as i have been waiting ages for the windows 7 sync software to come out as i couldnt get my head round the old work around, and want to start getting the full benifits from my hero.

So all of a sudden my phone will not connect to any computer regardless of what usb cord I use. I get a message that pops up in windows that says "USB Device Not Recognized" yet my phone is charging. I've wiped multiple times and reflashed my rom and still no luck. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers but it didnt do anything. I really need to be able transfer a ton of files to my sd card from my computer.

When I connect my Desire with a USB cable, the PC says "Device not recognised", and the phone keeps searching for a while untill it says it cannot find HTC Sync. No contact is possible, also not as diskdrive. What I have tried to solve this; Downloaded latest version of HTC Sync, gave it a fresh install (firewall and internet connection turned off), rebooted PC, rebooted phone, but to no avail. Also I checked the USB ports in Device manager, and at one port (the one with the Desire connected), it says "unknown device". It looks like no drivers are installed.
I also tried copying the drivers manually to the win32 directory, but this did not help. All this I repeated several times, browsed the web for hours and hours, made a handfull of calls to the friendly people at HTC, but neither of these solved the issue. To complicate matters; the first couple of days Syncing just worked fine, the two weeks after that not anymore. On some occasions, after a complete new installation-session, the device connected once, but not anymore after that. Since the calendar has become the center pillar of my existence, I am on the verge of becoming hugely frustrated. Hoping the truth is out there, and somebody of you guys knows about it..

I am trying to add my motorola milestone device into PC and debug in the device. When i put the usb cable, the device opens in data storage mode and opens the folder. But when i do a "adb devices" i dont see any device. i did the usb_driver fresh installation guide, but it returned "windows could not find a better driver than currently installed" I havd pointed to sdpath/usb_driver what's wrong and how to resolve this?

So my phone was working fine up untill i did the update. now i plug my phone in and it says "USB Device not recognized" clicked on the message and the pic is what it said. its on 2 different computers too. tried un and reinstalling Kies, Drivers, Re-started,

I am using Micromax mobile (Canvas 2 ) for the last 7 months. But for the last 15 days am unable to connect my mobile on my laptop. When i try to connect it it says "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it"... Am really stuck with this issue for the for 20 days .

Yesterday, i installed the Cyanocream rom in my GY, i did not like and i uninstalled, i back for the stock rom with the CWM Backup, my phone says it is charging when it is desconect from the charger and i have problems with the USB conection, the phone does not recognize the USB, on the pc shows: "USB Device Not Recognized" i have the samsung drivers installed in my pc, i want conect the phone USB to restore it with the CWM

I want to root my Samsung Moment so that I can put Live Wallpapers on it and such, but every time I go to DL mode my computer says "USB Device Not Recognized" I have tried with and without USB Debugging on, install uninstall Drivers, going to REGEDIT to erase SAMSUNG drivers, formatting my phone, two different USB cables, three machines, and yet IT-STILL-WONT-WORK. I have windows update turned on. I tried checking this on another USB port, but same doesnt get recognised. I even tried it on different PC, it gets perfectly recognised there.
I checked Samsung Galaxy s2, galaxy ACE, desire C, but none of them could get connected. In the device manager it shows an error "THE DEVICE CANNOT START (code 10)"
I even tried using ANdroid SDK drivers & also the SAmsung drivers on their site. But it coudnt start. Windows update also coudn't find a suitable driver for it.

Yes, I tried cleaning the USB port, both on the computer and the device. Yes, I've connected the device to multiple computers. Yes, I've power cycled both the device and the computer.

The mounting and unmounting of the sd card, I read up and Ordered a class 6 verbatum card. But the big Issue is my windows will not recognize the behold 2. When I hook it up it tells me usb device not recognized then inside it says Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) Port_#0006.Hub_#0005. I have tried to install the usb drives I found on this site but it will not allow them to install. I have gone in and deleted My upper and lower system file in the registry.
I have bought a new cable < universal> I did not have the OEM cable and Samsung refused to send me one said it was tmobiles responsibility. I have hooked it up to a Vista 32 bit system and nothing. Also when I hook it too the usb it only shows charging no usb notification on the screen. I seem to remember reading it should have a usb symbol on the upper right corner? I have also already set the system setting to usb mass storage.

So I tried to update my phone from home a few days ago. It didn't work. I got to the Volume Down+Camera+End step and plugged in the USB and it said "USB device not recognized." Something like that. I tried for about an hour, restarting PC, toggling USB debugging, and turning off the phone. After that, I got fed up and deleted the update software from my desktop and told my mom to take me to Sprint next weekend.

My Samsung s3 phone says usb device connected not recognized when i connect to any PC even though other phones similar to mine does connect. i have tried many tricks from different sources but it still doesn't work. when i connect it in the custom mode by starting the phone with pressing Home/power and volume buttons it is recognized and says device ready to use but the moment i swict the phone in normal mode it goes back to not recognized.

So I have a Samsung Vibrant (just got it recently) and I'm having problems when i connect it to the computer. It gives me an USB device not recognized on my windows 8 computer. I have spent all morning searching and reinstalling drivers and trying my old pc and new cables and i found out that my old windows 7 computer with 4GB of ram and an overloaded hard drive will detect my device the problem there is it not my main computer and i don't want to have to connect all the vga cables boot it up connect mouse and ets to use this computer just to be able to copy files, and do other things from my computer to my phone I don't know why my main computer dell inspiron windows 8 will not work when it was a couple of days ago when i had a problem with connectivity and had to flash back to stock but now it wont connect.

Tried to access it today and it was saying that i was entering the wrong pin. I know for a fact that it was right. Now i'm locked out of it and it says to call sprint to continue. I talked to them for about 45 minutes, they switched me over to HTC for another 30 and then back to sprint for another hour. They had me hard reset the phone twice and it didn't do anything. Was on the phone with advanced tech for the last hour and they finally said to wait 2 hours and it should reset itself. Well, it's now been about 5 and it still won't work... Any ideas on how to get it to work?

I noticed that just recently (few days) that the device self services app will not go back to the main screen but is instead stuch on the "update firmware" screen, and since theres no on screen back button I pretty much can't get off of this screen, tried power cycling, killing the app via TasKiller... nothing works.

Just wanted to make sure that the Hero is supposed to be a multitasking device? Because every time I try to multitasking, my phone freaks out.
For example, as I was typing this (i am typing this post on my Hero), my green LED started flashing because I got an email. So I pressed home so I could check my email (no notification drag down in browser) and phone started to just get jittery, get stuck, and just freak out and lag. All the meanwhile, the music I was listening to started to skip and stutter like crazy. That was just a simple multitasking task that went haywire (sp?) and it isn't the only time that its happened.
Like I would be browsing the Market and get a text (which lagged in that the notification ring sounds a couple of seconds after the phone vibrates) and I press home to check my sms (via chompsms because of the sms bug) and once again, my phone freaks out (not as badly as how I mentioned before, but still annoying.
Overall, I just don't think the Hero is doing a very good job at multitasking (my Hero at least). But i thought the Hero was supppsed to be a multitasking phone, no? What's the dealio?
PS: This took me FOREVER to type on the Hero because of its crazy keyboard lag when using it in the browser (even with haptic feedback off)

So i was trying to root my sprint htc hero. iam coming from windomo so i am a noob. I set up ADB and my serial number comes up after i write cdcd AndroidSDKToolsadb devices (with a space after each slash.) but next to the serial it says offline. Why is this? i tied doing the rooting process and when i write adb push asroot2 /data/local/ a bunch of stuff comes up in cmd and then next when i write adb shell chmod 0755 /data/local/asroot2. It says device offline, why is this and how do i fix it?

I'm not real savvy about the power situation for the Sprint Hero that I just bought. The OEM power source says that the input is standard 100-240V. The OEM output shows as 5V=1A. Now, I have other USB chargers (e.g., for my iPod). The input is the same (100-240V), but the output is:
Output: 5.0V=400mA. Can anyone tell me (a) whether this will HARM my Hero, and (b) whether this will effectively CHARGE my Hero? Also Connecting to my computer via the USB cable: does the charge take longer than if connected directly to a wall charger?

In light of some issues a few of us are experiencing with bluetooth failing to connect correctly and draining our storage space, I was wondering what bluetooth devices always connect with the Hero and which ones fail sometimes? I will start with mine. I have the Jabra SP700 speakerphone. It only connects 80% of the time.

Through a couple boneheaded mishaps when moving to one of the 2.1 ROMs, I managed to wipe out all my Outlook contacts I had stored on my company's exchange server.
I won't go into all the details, but it happened when I tried to restore some data I had backed up before upgrading to the new ROM, and I forgot to uncheck "contacts" from the stuff I was restoring. Some process croaked when the restore was done, causing some silliness with my Google contacts, but also wiping out my Exchange contacts on the phone as well as on the server.
The good news is I have a full NAND backup from before I upgraded the ROM, so I can jump back to that to access my contacts. Problem is, I can't get them to sync remotely with the Exchange server. They also won't sync (or "reverse-sync" if that is the correct term) with Outlook when I use the latest version of the HTC Sync software.
So basically, I can't find a way to move the contacts from the phone to the Exchange server. What I want to do is get those contacts from my old NAND backup, move them to Outlook/Exchange, and then have them sync 'naturally' from the Exchange server to my phone, while running the new ROM I have installed.
I'm okay with having to do a NAND backup of what I'm currently running, restore the old backup to extract the contacts somehow, and then restoring the 'new' NAND backup, but I can't figure out how to manually copy the contacts so I can then import them into Outlook.
