Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I have had my hero for a couple weeks now was working perfect however I am no longer being alerted when I have emails (both exchange and Yahoo). It will show 0 I will refresh and still none, however I will check it on the computer and there are several. I have it polling every hour?

HTC Hero by Sprint, running 2.1.6...I notice that I get my gmail updates almost instantaniously during the day, but at night I will get one and if I don't touch the phone, I won't get another until I start using the phone again.Is this some sort of "sleep" feature where you will not recieve gmail notifications while you are not using the phone (over night), or is it just my imagination?? I have noticed this numerous times over the past couple months, although I have not really been putting this theory to a controled test.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently picked up the HTC hero and love it so far. My only complaints are battery life and the fact I did something wrong when setting up my yahoo mail. As far as the battery goes there is nothing wrong, I was just used to a regular flip phone. I just charge this every night now.I have been lurking here for a long time and finally picked up my first smartphone and LOVE IT. This site has helped me in so many ways already.When I set up my yahoo mail using the (other(POP3/IMAP)) setting and I got a call in the middle of it and started over. I actually ended up entering my yahoo mail twice on accident. They both work perfectly fine. So I get a notification twice for every one email I get. Completely my fault and not the phones in any way, but either way I cant figure out how to delete one of them. One is named Yahoo and the other jjj_85, my account name. I have dug through every option I can think of and searched on here and came up with nothing. All the options are just to modify the accounts I set up already. Any ideas on how to delete one of them? Hopefully I just overlooked something simple.

I have always received email notification before. I have notification allowed in gmail, email, and k9, and still no notification: I have to go into the application and do a manual refresh. I use a "@googlemail.com ". account on orange UK.

I can send an email and it will appear as it goes through, but the email is never actually sent or does not show up on my sent box (on either the phone or outlook).Any similar issues from others & any suggestions on fixing?
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor the last 2 weeks I have randomly not been receiving text messages. Also just today I had a friend send a picture with text and I saw the pop up, went to Chomp SMS and clicked on the play button to play the slide show. Once I tapped the message, it disappeared. I can no longer find the picture or the message that went along with it. It is very frustrating because I know people are trying to send me photos and messages and I am not even getting them or they are disappearing before I can get/read them. I even checked the original Messages app and the missing texts/photos do not show up there. Is this a Sprint issue or a Hero issue? And is there a fix?

When I called my voicemail I had almost 50 messages. Can anybody help me and tell me how I can start receiving voicemail notifications and visual voicemail again without having to call my number?
View 29 Replies View Relatedi know there have been some issues about this already, but none of them have been able to help me. i'm currently flashed with Fresh 1.0 and Gumbo Kernel, but i am definately not receiving all of my text messages. i've tried handcent, didn't work. i've tried chomp, didn't work. i've tried the stock app, didn't work. i've also tried updating my profile and prl, didn't work. If there isn't a solution, i might just go ahead and join the bandwagon and flash the Leaked 2.1. But i love fresh 1.0. btw, can anyone direct me to where i can download the 2.1?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a while now, I don't know exactly how long, my phone stopped receiving pictures in text messages.I get a notification that a new text msg is in, but when I click on it, it just says "downloading".Once in a blue moon the pic will appear after about 20 minutes, but most of the time it never comes up.I am using Handcent, but I get the same result with the stock messaging program.The one thread I saw said that a hard reset had to be done.I really don't want to have to do that.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone and put fresh 1.1 on it a couple days ago, it received calls after rooting, but recently it stopped receiving calls, and it never received texts or visual voice mails. Gmail still pushes new email to it, and the internet works fine to update things and look at websites.
I tried to restore with nandroid and it took fresh off of it but it still doesn't do text, don't know about calls but i doubt it. also when i rooted it i removed sprint tv, nascar, foot prints and a couple other stock apps. after i found it wasn't getting texts i removed advanced task killer, but it didn't have any effect.
I am getting a 5-15 minute delay on some of my SMS/TXT messages, is anyone getting this too?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had the Hero for three weeks or so. After updating the visual voicemail after the initial purchase. Everything was fine until I received a text a week ago informing me that X sent me a voice SMS message and I had to call 408.970.0000 to listen. There was no notification on the visual voicemail native app that anyone had called me. Upon calling this number, I had four voicemails from the preceding few days that I never got. As of today, 11/15, according to the native voicemail app, I haven't received a VM since 11/4. In actuality, I've received many.
After calling sprint and explaining this to them and having "tech" support tell me to "disable WiFi to get my voicemails (!?)", I went to the sprint store. Several call to their support and their own tinkering resolved nothing but an overnight ship of a new Hero due tomorrow. Now, I do have handcent installed after having awake/up time issues (see other posts) with the native message app. Could this be somehow related?
I'm not getting texts, I'm in "hybrid mode" and have sent the "allow all" text to 9999.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't really understand how spam texts work (although I am thinking about getting into it since I know how much everyone loves them). For the many months I have had my Hero, I don't think I ever received one. However, in the past week I have been getting at least one every day, sometimes at 4 AM. I have to leave my notifications on because that is how the answering service contacts me.
Now, all of this has started since I loaded Fresh 2.0d. I doubt there is any connection between those two events, but could there be? Is there something about the new ROM that would make it more susceptible to spam? Second, I know that with email spam I just delete them, I certainly don't want to respond to them by checking the "take me off your mailing list." If I blacklist a spam number in Handcent, that doesn't send anything back to the sender indicating it is an active number, does it? It doesn't hurt to blacklist, does it?
My sprint HTC hero for some reason will all the sudden stop allowing me to get text messages and mine that I send don't seem to reach the phone I am sending it to. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo just yesterday 12-1-09 my phone stopped receiving text messages and phone calls. People try to call me and get 4 rings then voicemail. My phone doesnt ring at all. I can place calls and browse the internet, run sprint navigation and all my apps just fine. It has been a perfect phone ever since I bought it. (11-01-09). I did a factory Hard Reset and still my phone didnt receive calls. Called Sprint and they had me turn off my phone and refreshed some info. Had to change the MSID # when i turned my phone back on but still nothing. Has anyone else had this happen to them. The only way I can receive my text messages is if I place a call then they seem to come through.

I installed Gmail Notifier, but now I am not getting any notifications at all when I get mail. Does anyone else use Gmail Notifier that could perhaps comment? Is it the program or do I have a setting wrong somewhere. Is any other app known to conflict with the notifications?
