I spoke to the sprint customer service today and ask Why i was not receiving picture text on my phone anymore. He said that on april 9, 2010 the new 2.1 will be able to fix the problem.

im running cyanogen mod and im having problems receiving picture text messages. it loads shows it for one sec then go's off real quick.

View 15 Replies View RelatedFor a while now, I don't know exactly how long, my phone stopped receiving pictures in text messages.I get a notification that a new text msg is in, but when I click on it, it just says "downloading".Once in a blue moon the pic will appear after about 20 minutes, but most of the time it never comes up.I am using Handcent, but I get the same result with the stock messaging program.The one thread I saw said that a hard reset had to be done.I really don't want to have to do that.

View 16 Replies View RelatedMy sprint HTC hero for some reason will all the sudden stop allowing me to get text messages and mine that I send don't seem to reach the phone I am sending it to. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo just yesterday 12-1-09 my phone stopped receiving text messages and phone calls. People try to call me and get 4 rings then voicemail. My phone doesnt ring at all. I can place calls and browse the internet, run sprint navigation and all my apps just fine. It has been a perfect phone ever since I bought it. (11-01-09). I did a factory Hard Reset and still my phone didnt receive calls. Called Sprint and they had me turn off my phone and refreshed some info. Had to change the MSID # when i turned my phone back on but still nothing. Has anyone else had this happen to them. The only way I can receive my text messages is if I place a call then they seem to come through.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTook update and all is well, however i now notice if i want to attach a pic to my text the app says too big to send. I looked in setting seems there is a 1 meg limit. Handcent would autosize the pic so I could send. So my question is can I change the setting in the native app or just revert back to handcent.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last 2 weeks I have randomly not been receiving text messages. Also just today I had a friend send a picture with text and I saw the pop up, went to Chomp SMS and clicked on the play button to play the slide show. Once I tapped the message, it disappeared. I can no longer find the picture or the message that went along with it. It is very frustrating because I know people are trying to send me photos and messages and I am not even getting them or they are disappearing before I can get/read them. I even checked the original Messages app and the missing texts/photos do not show up there. Is this a Sprint issue or a Hero issue? And is there a fix?

When I called my voicemail I had almost 50 messages. Can anybody help me and tell me how I can start receiving voicemail notifications and visual voicemail again without having to call my number?

It will show 0 I will refresh and still none, however I will check it on the computer and there are several. I have it polling every hour?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi know there have been some issues about this already, but none of them have been able to help me. i'm currently flashed with Fresh 1.0 and Gumbo Kernel, but i am definately not receiving all of my text messages. i've tried handcent, didn't work. i've tried chomp, didn't work. i've tried the stock app, didn't work. i've also tried updating my profile and prl, didn't work. If there isn't a solution, i might just go ahead and join the bandwagon and flash the Leaked 2.1. But i love fresh 1.0. btw, can anyone direct me to where i can download the 2.1?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone and put fresh 1.1 on it a couple days ago, it received calls after rooting, but recently it stopped receiving calls, and it never received texts or visual voice mails. Gmail still pushes new email to it, and the internet works fine to update things and look at websites.
I tried to restore with nandroid and it took fresh off of it but it still doesn't do text, don't know about calls but i doubt it. also when i rooted it i removed sprint tv, nascar, foot prints and a couple other stock apps. after i found it wasn't getting texts i removed advanced task killer, but it didn't have any effect.
HTC Hero by Sprint, running 2.1.6...I notice that I get my gmail updates almost instantaniously during the day, but at night I will get one and if I don't touch the phone, I won't get another until I start using the phone again.Is this some sort of "sleep" feature where you will not recieve gmail notifications while you are not using the phone (over night), or is it just my imagination?? I have noticed this numerous times over the past couple months, although I have not really been putting this theory to a controled test.

I have called Sprint like 8 times and was told it was a known problem with the HTC Hero. I asked if it possibly had anything to do with the 2.1 upgrade.I was told absolutely not! On the 7th, one operator told me that the upgrade was coming out on the 9th.On the 9th, no upgrade.So I called and was told that it was coming, but unsure when, but still unrelated.Called again this Monday, still a known unrelated issue. I was offered a service credit if $35.00. Called today and spoke with Operator Pamela. She told me that it is a known problem and would be fixed with the 2.1 update.She said it was suppose to come out on the 9th but got pushed to the end of the month.Keep checking sprint.com/download.
View 31 Replies View RelatedI have had the Hero for three weeks or so. After updating the visual voicemail after the initial purchase. Everything was fine until I received a text a week ago informing me that X sent me a voice SMS message and I had to call 408.970.0000 to listen. There was no notification on the visual voicemail native app that anyone had called me. Upon calling this number, I had four voicemails from the preceding few days that I never got. As of today, 11/15, according to the native voicemail app, I haven't received a VM since 11/4. In actuality, I've received many.
After calling sprint and explaining this to them and having "tech" support tell me to "disable WiFi to get my voicemails (!?)", I went to the sprint store. Several call to their support and their own tinkering resolved nothing but an overnight ship of a new Hero due tomorrow. Now, I do have handcent installed after having awake/up time issues (see other posts) with the native message app. Could this be somehow related?
Is anyone noticing lag on this? My phone will start to ring, but then like 4 seconds later the option to accept the call will come up. Also, when dialing out I feel like it lags with Fresh 2.1.1 - trying to use my phone as a phone!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't really understand how spam texts work (although I am thinking about getting into it since I know how much everyone loves them). For the many months I have had my Hero, I don't think I ever received one. However, in the past week I have been getting at least one every day, sometimes at 4 AM. I have to leave my notifications on because that is how the answering service contacts me.
Now, all of this has started since I loaded Fresh 2.0d. I doubt there is any connection between those two events, but could there be? Is there something about the new ROM that would make it more susceptible to spam? Second, I know that with email spam I just delete them, I certainly don't want to respond to them by checking the "take me off your mailing list." If I blacklist a spam number in Handcent, that doesn't send anything back to the sender indicating it is an active number, does it? It doesn't hurt to blacklist, does it?

When trying to send picture mail on handcent, once i click to send, it just keeps the screen with the little spinning "loading icon" and never actually sends the image. Anyone have any tips to make it work?

Why would we have to open 2 msg apps to get pic mail.I tried it today and it showed a small picture in Chomp tree view, but it wouldn't let me open it or save it.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwell i got my phone two months ago, after 1 week of having it my picture mail messages were not coming in, they would get the download, then "unsuccesful download." After dealing with Sprint they convinced me it was a problem on 1 in 4 phones and i had to give up my brand new phone for a stupid refurbished phone. It ended up working until now, around 1 1/2 months.This is not a Wifi Issue, i dont have it turned on, and i am aware of that problem. I have 90mb free on my phone, ive cleared all my caches, pulled battery, turned mobile network off and on. Over the last month i have been getting the download button but they would come through. I would then get a picture message from someone i didnt have a conversation open with, then i would open it and the message would dissapear. Well now today none are going through, its extremely frustrating and i dont want to tell my fanboy iPhone friends they have to email me pictures.
The one workaround to go to the website and view them would be fine if i could view them on my phone. I dont want to log into sprint to view NWS pictures at work.I can log on through my phone, but when going to messages nothing shows. up.I know about the wiping the phone, but that is hours of work getting all apps, setting up my custom scenes, adding all bookmarks, adding all my passwords in the password keeper, rooting, adding all my roms and kernels again.THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING.I love this phone except for this simple function it cant perform.
I just got my Hero a few days ago, previously I had an Instinct. So far I love the Hero, but one of my few complaints about it is having to take pictures by pressing the trackball. The trackball just feels odd to press and most of the time I have to press it multiple times for it to take a photo. Anyone have any solutions to this? I doubt there is a way to change this in the settings, but is there an app or something that uses a more convenient button for photos?

I was told that my phone will not do picture messaging, and that it was a phone limitation not a network one. Other users have picture messaging on their blackberries. Can someone recommend a good app for SMS and MMS that might allow me to send picture messages.
