So I just rooted my Evo on 2.2 using unrevoked and now I want to know what the best way to go is from here. I'm looking for the phone to run faster and for the screen to be more sensitive with the fps unlocked like I have seen on a few vids on YouTube.

anyone have this problem w/ the moment whereby your face touches the screen and causes accidentally pressed keys, things to move on screen, etc. associated w/ touching the screen? I think I remember this happening once or twice on the moment but admittedly, I don't use it much so not sure if the lock screen was on, screen was off, etc. Just looking to see if anyone if affected by this or if it's a known problem.

Maybe I need to develop a lighter touch when scrolling but what I'd really like is a way to adjust the sensitivity.Update problem solved. I was unintentionally tapping when I started my scrolls. Now I'm careful not to let my finger bounce and all is well.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to get the display as dark as possible but I also want the display to remain touch sensitive.So I can't turn the display off, otherwise it wouldn't react to touch anymore. And I use WindowManager. LayoutParams. screenBrightness to get the screen as dark as possible. And I put a layer colored black over the entire display.That works, but at night one sees that the screen is still quite strongly illuminated.Does anybody have an idea of how to get the screen even darker?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust 3 days ago my Hero started to not work properly. Touch screen (in the bottom, keys 7-8-9 of numerical keyboard) seems to be not completely sensitive and sometimes it doesn't work at all in that zone.
The curious thing is the phone starts working properly after using it for a couple of hours. If the device is in stand-by mode for a long time (i.e. during the night) the issue occurs. Has anyone had a similar problem or know of a solution?
I have been trying to find some information if there is any way to adjust how sensitive the phone is to switch from portrait to landscape.I hate the fact that I have to shake my phone to get it to switch Other phones I have have used never were this stubborn before.

Noticeably lagging are the widgets on that screen (GMail Unread Count x2, Agenda Widget, power control). I figure this is because these widgets are killed when using other programs to free memory. Is this the case? If so, is there anything I can do to change that since I am now rooted?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the oclf, rooted and its all working nicely. Tested on quadrant and got this big sexy bar right at the top. Phone seems a little faster for sure. But if u use quadrant advanced u can see that CPU speed isn't really changing much if at all. Its i/o that is increasing and giving us these huge scores. Whatever that is. So are there further steps I can take to speed up my phone.
Is oclf actually overclocking my phone or just giving it another file system which speeds up processing slightly? I also use launcherpro which seems to help a bit for home screen navigating and such. But I am looking for a real noticeable boost. I know some of the ROMs out there are pretty fast as well but I am a little reluctant to remodel my phone much more with froyo supposedly on the horizon.
My quadrant is 920 and i have seen people with 2000+ quadrant. How can i get those stats?

I see people talking about "overclocking" help me understand how this works. All my friends who have "jailbroken" their iphones have made their phones noticeably slower and laggier. After a while I realized my phone speed slowed down and was looking for the reason behind it. That's when I learned rooting is the answer. So I used the One Click method and everything is fine so far.
My Kernel is 2.6.29 root@SE-S602 #2 and Baseband is XXJF3 (2.1). So I went into my apps and saw the superuser permission app. But it doesn'thttp://android.bigresource.com/add/add.php work! It is just a blacked out screen. So I am not sure where to go from here. I have tried searching for an answer but couldn't find one, just guides how to root. How to make my phone faster from this point? I get confused with all these ROM things! Which is the best ROM? MoDaCo? Is there a Froyo version of it?
I have a HTC wildfire phone and even though i do enjoy it i find it to be very very slow and i have tried multiple things such as keeping my text messages to a maximum of 20 before deleting. Trying to delete unnesesary apps and junk off my phone. But it still runs slow, so i have joined this android forum seeking help. I can purchase a new phone an iphone 4 or HTC desire but i like my HTC wildfire and i enjoy the android operating system, the Wildfire's camera is amazing and the only thing i want to be able to do is make it faster. Will upgrading my SD card make the phone run faster?

I have had the Droid Incredible for a month and a half now and my text messages are filling up. One girl I have 2500 messages from and the loading is pretty slow. Its pretty annoying waiting to reply and everything else on the phone is lightning fast so I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on how to have them speed up or settings that would help. Please tell me anything that would make these messages load faster.
P.S. I understand deleting the messages will make it fast but erasing them takes way too long and its annoying. Also i need a lot of my messages.
Dont get me wrong, the QWERTY keyboard is sick, and I love it. But after typing on the keyboard for while, I wanted to switch it up, so I tried the on screen key pad. And to my surprise, the on screen keyboard appears to be much quicker than using the QWERTY!
