Sprint HTC Hero : How To Disable Senseui Pattern Lock Screen
Dec 2, 2009Can anyone tell me how to disable the senseui pattern lock screen and only use the lock 2.0 slide to unlock screen that I purchased only?

Feb 6, 2010On my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
General :: Disable Lock Pattern Is Disabled?
Jan 5, 2014Turns out I have an Xperia P with Android 4.1.2 and i've been using the lock pattern feature for a while... Today I wanted to disable it but it seems like I can't do that, the "None" option is disabled and I can't disable it. (See attached screenshot)

I did some research and it looks like apps can only turn off Pattern Lock when the phone is rooted. Is this true? I don't want to root my phone and I'd rather not have to enter Pattern Lock a hundred times a day.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Why To Prefer SenseUI / Stock Android ROMs?
Jul 21, 2010Just a small discussion. Curious as to why people prefer Sense-less ROM's. Android is the best cell phone OS I have ever used, and I think the SenseUI only improves it, aesthetically(sp?) and socially speaking. The tiny lag my Hero suffers is worth it for all of the beautiful widgets, the launcher, the Facebook and Twitter integrations and did I mention. I have never described anything electronic as beautiful before! The stock Android look captivates me until I use it. It seems so bland and *ugh* to me. And as far as speed goes, the Senseless ROM's I have tried are no faster then the Fresh ROM I am running, and if it is it's completely unnoticed by me. But anyways I am just curious what reasons you have for using the SenseUI or stock Android OS, whether it be for apps to run more efficiently, speed, whatever. Just curious, might try a couple new ROM's soon.

Dec 7, 2009I hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

Nov 15, 2010I'd really like to be able to read my most recent text BEFORE I unlock my pattern lock screen. Preferably in the form of a popup. I really don't care if it's over it or on top I just want to be able to read it before I unlock. I've done a good deal of searching, on xda and elsewhere, and I really can't find any information on how I might be able to do this. I tried playing with the popup settings in handcent and I have got the pop up to show up over the lockscreen, but if the screen turns back off then I have to unlock the phone to see the text again. Is there anything I can do about that?
I even tried playing around with Sms Popup with no luck either. Could I perhaps somehow remove the background on my pattern lockscreen so that I can see the popup behind it? I'd also like to add that I'd really rather not use any third party lockscreen apps like WidgetLocker or Lock 2.0 because I really don't like them. I know it's kind of a specific question but it's just kind of an aesthetics thing I guess.

Sep 8, 2013I recently installed cyanogenmod with CWM recovery (on a Nexus 7) and decided to try one of the largest grids for the lock screen security. Needless to say it was soon forgotten. I've tried the gmail reset but it says the details are incorrect even though I can sign in with them on my PC. My guess is that it can't connect to gmail for authentication due to the firewall I'm using.

Jun 2, 2010I tried searching for this topic but I couldnt find it. I just upgraded my htc hero to android 2.1. I never set a password for the lock screen. So it ended up putting a password on its own. I called sprint tech support and talked to them for about an hour and finally figured out that the password is my google account password. Thats all well and good but I am not a big fan of password protecting my phone because I really dont have any information of value on it, but I do like having the lock screen so I dont pocket diel. I found a few programs that will disable the lock screen that will get around this problem, kind of. Does anyone have a clue how to disable the password protection and still keep the lock screen. Its just really irritating because I dont usually lock my phone and every time I try to wake it I have to unlock it.

Dec 2, 2009I switched phones the other day.The 1st phon eI was able to set my lock screen with a provided wall papar. On teh new phone, it says I have no photos and will not let me go to wallpapers. Could this be because I hace swapped out the 2gig micro sd with a new sd card?Because I know I did it on the other phone.
