Jul 21, 2010Just a small discussion. Curious as to why people prefer Sense-less ROM's. Android is the best cell phone OS I have ever used, and I think the SenseUI only improves it, aesthetically(sp?) and socially speaking. The tiny lag my Hero suffers is worth it for all of the beautiful widgets, the launcher, the Facebook and Twitter integrations and did I mention. I have never described anything electronic as beautiful before! The stock Android look captivates me until I use it. It seems so bland and *ugh* to me. And as far as speed goes, the Senseless ROM's I have tried are no faster then the Fresh ROM I am running, and if it is it's completely unnoticed by me. But anyways I am just curious what reasons you have for using the SenseUI or stock Android OS, whether it be for apps to run more efficiently, speed, whatever. Just curious, might try a couple new ROM's soon.

Feb 9, 2010First time poster but been reading for a week or so since i got my hero. I rooted with fresh 1.1 and put a new kernal in and it flies....love it.
My question is can you add widgets from websites like espn...like the widgets that you can put on your desktop. Im just curious cuz i want to add a widget from a site called "rotoworld.com" its a fantasy sports site and there is no widget obviously on the phone like that. I can add it to my desktop on my computer or igoogle(not sure what that is).

Sep 8, 2010I installed aHome and set it as default home but anytime I try going to the Home screen it says 'ahome has crashed and my only option is to 'Force close'Now I cannot use ANYTHING in my phone.I mainly need help with how to make the normal home the default home without doing anything, or any alternates to uninstall aHome. May 2, 2010Yes, I have looked around the forum for the answer to this question but no one has the same issue as me (as far as I know)Okay, when I try to set up my school email on my Hero, I get an authentication failure and it says something like " Authentication failed. Please verify your username and password."I have tried using the settings that google has on the website and the school doesn't have anything about setting up an email on a phone ( any phone).I tried changing the server to imap.grcc.edu and I had to confirm the certificate but then it gave the error again. I also tried taking the @email.grcc.edu from the username and that didn't work either. I am really frustrated right now. And no, I do not want to forward it to my other email. I like to keep my school and personal emails separate. Sorry if I sound a bit mean but I know that's what some of you will ask me.

Jun 4, 2010Ok, my phone worked perfectly before I installed 2.1. I did a hard reset before I installed 2.1. It ran fine for about 20 minutes while I played with all the new features (I really like 2.1 when its working) but literally about every 20 minutes when I check my phone, the damn thing is OFF. Its really pissing me off. So I turn it back on, and within 20 minutes its off again. Im about to smash this damn thing. I've reinstalled 2.1 twice, hard reset, soft reset, and every combination of the 3. WTF is the problem!?

Mar 8, 2010Im using the new fresh 2.1 ROM which is awesome. In 1.5 I used the settings widgets to turn on/off wifi, 3g etc. On 2.1 there is a power manager widget that basically has wifi, BT, GPS, screen brightness and sync all in one widget. I liked the other widgets better as I had the ability to turn off 3g with it. Is there any way to get thos widgets back in 2.1? Another thing I've noticed is that in 1.5 you could turn off the GPS and not affect the location services but in 2.1 I cant find a similar setup....
